The grounds for the protest where that as the horses approached the 900 metres and BETTING RANGER had commenced to improve into a three wide position, FRESH PRINCE left the running line forcing BETTING RANGER to race in a four wide position momentarily and lose the back of BLAZING CHIMES. After considering evidence from both drivers and the footage available to stewards and the margin of a half head, Stewards could not be comfortably satisfied that had the interference not have occurred the result would have been reversed and as a result dismissed the protest and all clear was given on 6 – 10 – 2 – 9.
