RACE 1 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 1609 metres

PEPPI GRATZ – Broke stride as the field negotiated the first turn and shifted in and locked wheels with OUR LUCILLE which was severely checked.  A warning was issued.

DRIVING MISS MOLLY – Broke stride in the latter stages of the score and was out of position as the start was affected.  A warning was issued.

POPS JOY – Pre-race sample was taken.  Checked as the field negotiated the first turn.  Post-race sample was taken.  Upon request from connections was re-included into the mobile barrier draw.

OUR LUCILLE – Severely checked and locked wheels with PEPPI GRATZ as the field negotiated the first turn.

 

RACE 2 – MATES4HARNESS 2YO PACE – 1609 metres

OAK RIDGE – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.

LIGHTNING MY QUEEN – Pre-race sample was taken.  Hampered approaching the 100 metres.

BLISSES BEST – Had a tendency to hang in slightly whilst under pressure in the early stages of the run to the finish.  Post-race sample was taken.

OUR ULTIMATE ROXY NZ – When placed under pressure in the early stages of the home straight for the run to the finish hung in slightly before heading LIGHTNING MY QUEEN then veering down the track sharply.  Connections were advised given its limited experience that it will be stood down until it can requalify on one occasion.

ROSA DUNDEE – Examined post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.

 

RACE 3 – COCA COLA 2YO PACE – 1609 metres

ULTIMATE EMPIRE – Hung out approaching the 900 metres.  A warning was issued.

ERROL FIN – Post-race sample was taken.

XTRAVAGANT MAN – Hampered as the field negotiated the final turn then had a tendency to hang out thereafter.

CHLOBRO – Had a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages of the event.  Hampered approaching the 900 metres.  Driver A Garaty was reprimanded under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when negotiating the final turn shifted GO JACK CROKER wider on the track which in turn hampered the running of XTRAVAGANT MAN. 

HOWITIS – Hampered approaching the 900 metres.

ERASMUS – Hampered approaching the 900 metres.

VESPA STRIDE – Broke stride in the middle stages of the score up.  Connections were advised it will be placed on its last chance in the mobile barrier draw. 

RED SAPPHIRE – Hampered approaching the 900 metres.  Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.

GO JACK CROCKER – Pre-race sample was taken.  Checked and broke stride approaching the 900 metres.  Hampered as the field negotiated the final turn.

 

RACE 4 – GLOBAL BRANDS LIQUOR PACE – 2030 metres

OHWHATIWOULDGIVE – Pre-race sample was taken.

MY ULTIMATE COSSIE – Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance.  When questioned regarding the performance driver J Callaghan explained that it was not suited racing outside of the leader with the tempo that was recorded in the event however was not overly disappointed in the performance.

MY ULTIMATE FREDDIE NZ – Had a tendency to race rough throughout various stages of the event.  Post-race sample was taken.  Connections advised it would be the intention for the colt to be spelled.

SECRET WISH – Hampered as the field negotiated the final turn when trailing weakening runners. 

 

RACE 5 – TOOHEYS PACE – 2030 metres

TOUGH TALKS – Post-race sample was taken.

GUNFIGHTERSGHOST – Broke stride in the latter stages of the score up and checked the running of SHADOW ECLIPSE resulting in a false start being declared.  A warning was issued.  Weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten a considerable distance.  When questioned regarding the performance driver B Pringle advised it was not suited to being left racing outside of the leader over the longer distance however was still disappointed in the performance.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.  Connections were advised it will be stood down until it can requalify on one occasion.

OPERATIVE ANNA – Pre-race sample was taken.  Broke gear as the field negotiated the first turn and was retired from the event.  The gear was inspected and found to be of suitable quality.

SHADOW ECLIPSE – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.  Broke stride as the field raced down the back straight on the first occasion.  A warning was issued.

 

RACE 6 – GARRARDS HORSE & HOUND PACE – 1609 metres

PENURIOUS – Pre-race sample was taken.

YOGI – Had a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages of the event.

NEXT TO ME NZ – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.

RENDEZVOUS – Post-race sample was taken.

 

RACE 7 – AVE TECHNOLOGIES PACE – 1609 metres

NIFTY STUDLEIGH – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.

HEY MISTER TAYLOR – Upon entry to the home straight was hampered and raced roughly for a short distance.

APACHE WHITESOX – Galloped away as the start was affected.  A warning was issued.  Hampered upon entering the home for the run to the finish and raced roughly for a short distance.

WAITING FOR LOVE – Shifted wider with a movement from the runner to the inside which hampered the running of APACHE WHITESOX and when being corrected down the track restricted the racing room of HEY MISTER TAYLOR which was also hampered and as a result sustained a flat off side tyre.

DAN FERNANDO NZ – Pre-race sample was taken.  Post-race sample was taken.

 

RACE 8 – PITCHER PARTNER PACE – 2030 metres

SWEET CREATION – Had a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages of the event.  Broke stride as the field negotiated the final turn.  A warning was issued.

GO OH MICKY NZ – Post-race sample was taken.

YESNOMAYBESO – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.  Hampered as the field negotiated the final turn.  Held up for clear running over the concluding stages and not fully tested. 

THE METAL FLYER – Pre-race sample was taken.  Hampered as the field negotiated the final turn.

 

RACE 9 – JOHN HUNTER CHILDRENS HOSPITAL KIDS CLUB PACE – 1609 metres

LIGHTNING BOB – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.  Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish. 

THE MIGHTY MONDO NZ – Fractious and broke stride in the early stages of the score up and was out of position as the start was affected taking no competitive part in the event.  Connections were advised given it will be excluded from the mobile barrier draw given its recent record.

ERUPT STRIDE NZ – Post-race sample was taken.

FOREVER A DANCER NZ – Pre-race sample was taken.  Held up for clear running over the concluding stages and was not fully tested.

 

RACE 10 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 1609 metres

WAVETHEBILL NZ – Post-race sample was taken.

RICKOSHAY – Had a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages of the event.

MASTER CATCH – Pre-race sample was taken.  When questioned regarding the tactics adopted driver A Delosa explained that instructions were to be forward in the field and when making a three wide move in the early stages of the event got up to racing on terms with RICKOSHAY which was outside of the leader and failed to muster the necessary speed to obtain the position outside of the leader and in turn RICKOSHAY which had a tendency to over race to its inside also placed it at a disadvantage and as a result was obliged to race three wide for the remainder of the event.  Stewards noted her comments.
