Travis Collins to join Tamworth Carnival of Cups line-up

Multi-award winning country artist Travis Collins has been added to the all-star line-up for Harness Racing New South Wales’ free Carnival of Cups event in Tamworth in January next year.

Headlined by Australian music icon Daryl Braithwaite, Collins joins sibling-trio The Buckleys, The Voice Australia star Tori Darke and local favourite Kyle Cartner for what will be one of the biggest events ever hosted at the Golden Guitar Paceway.

The free trackside event will double as the official opening night event of the Tamworth Country Music Festival on 17 January.

It shapes an historic night of harness racing with the second running of the $60,000 Tamworth City Cup complemented by high-quality heats of the annual Golden Guitar.

Just days ago connections of Australia’s best pacer Leap to Fame suggested they will be taking the reigning Inter Dominion and Miracle Mile champion to Tamworth for the event.

Travis joins the line-up for Tamworth following the forced withdrawal of emerging star Lane Pittman who was called up to support Luke Combs on his national tour.

“I am excited to be kicking off Tamworth Country Music Festival at the Carnival of Cups. The atmosphere will be electric,” Travis said.

“I’m looking forward to hitting the stage alongside the legend, Daryl Braithwaite and a great line-up of artists. It’s going to be one to remember, so make sure you register for your free tickets.”

More than 5000 patrons attended last year’s inaugural staging of the revamped Carnival of Cups in Tamworth and early ticket registrations are pointing towards an even bigger crowd when it returns in January.

“What a major coup to be able to add an artist of the calibre of Travis to what is an already incredible line-up. We’re thrilled to be able to bring him into the Carnival of Cups family to bring his high-energy show to our stage,” HRNSW Marketing Manager Paul Cochrane said.

“This is going to be a night Tamworth will never forget and what better way to launch the 2025 Tamworth Country Music Festival than with a free event featuring so many elite artists all on the same stage.”
