Fantasy Harness Racing Now Open for Registrations

20 December 2024

A new national version of Fantasy Harness Racing is now officially open for business, with drivers and racetracks across Australia included in the game for the first time.

The registration phase opened today ahead of the first round of point scoring commencing on 30 January – to coincide with the running of the time-honoured Group 1 Hunter Cup.
More than $40,000 in prizes are up for grabs, including a major cash prize of $10,000 for the overall winner. Travel, accommodation and hospitality packages to the TAB Eureka are on offer, weekly dining experiences and a collector’s item hat for the top 100 at season’s end.
Now in its third season. Fantasy Harness Racing has been expanded significantly to include every state and a larger pool of drivers nationally.
Headline carnivals and feature races, including the Miracle Mile, the Nullarbor, the Tasmania Cup and the Adelaide Cup are given bonus point prominence through the game, which culminates with the 2025 Inter Dominion Championships and Queensland Constellations Carnival at Albion Park in mid-July.
The game will consist of 25 rounds over 25 weeks, with rounds to now commence on Thursdays and conclude on a Saturday or Sunday. Up to 12 allocated race meetings each week will constitute a round.
In line with previous seasons of Fantasy Harness Racing, players are assigned a salary cap of $25.6 million to purchase a squad of 22 drivers, who have each been given a starting price. Each driver’s value will fluctuate week to week depending on their performances and accumulated scores.
Drivers will accrue points in each fixture race they compete in, with 10 points awarded to the winner. Their accumulated score in each round will impact on their purchase price each week.
Players will select their squad across four regions – Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria and a combination of Western Australia, South Australia and Tasmania – to be known as WASAT.
As well as the overall points table, Fantasy leagues are available, with players able to set up their own competition groups and engage in head-to-head battles against each other.
Leading young drivers Angus Garrard (QLD), Josh Gallagher (NSW), Ewa Justice (VIC) and Deni Roberts (WASAT) are the official ambassadors for the game. Over the coming weeks they will be seen driving on their home tracks in the new green and gold Fantasy Harness Racing colours.
