It’s time to vote for the best drive of 2024

HARNESS Racing fans have spoken nominating their best drives in New South Wales for the 2024 season.

From a record number of nominations with some brilliant drives and horse performances, five drives have been selected for the TAB Kevin Newman Award for Driving Excellence.

The winner of this Award will be announced at the Gallagher NSW Harness Racing Industry Awards at Menangle Country Club on Sunday March 2, 2025.

There are also prizes!

The winning driver will receive a $2000 Garrards Horse and Hound voucher while voters that pick the winning drive will go into the draw to win a VIP TAB experience (voter must be over 18 years to be eligible for this prize).

The five drives nominated are:

• Erika Dwyer – ‘She takes the gap and she’s off!’ - Carbaganoosh (Eugowra 7/10/24) - RACE REPLAY

• Luke McCarthy – 'The Luke McCarthy trophy cabinet is now complete! Dominate drive secures Inter Dominion glory' - Don Hugo (Menangle 14/12/24) -  RACE REPLAY

• Will Rixon – 'Wide draw – no worries! Rixon makes a move that pays dividends’ - Dougs Flame (Bathurst 4/12/24) - RACE REPLAY

• Jason Turnbull – 'Shortcuts galore! JT’s peg-hugging drive pays off’ - Take His Place (Bathurst 11/12/24) - RACE REPLAY

• Luke McCarthy – 'McCarthy finds the lead and dictates his own terms for Eureka success' - Don Hugo (Menangle – 7/9/24) - RACE REPLAY
