Silk Cloud aims at another Group race

17 March 2021

BATHURST horseman Tony Higgs is looking forward to see what his filly Silk Cloud can produce at his local track tonight.

Silk Cloud’s last start was in the Group 2 Pink Bonnet at Menangle, which she won.
Higgs is no stranger to training a nice filly, after tasting success with Hannah McKenzie in the early 2000s.
Higgs raced Hannah McKenzie in the Bathurst Gold Tiara and finished third to Lombo La Fe Fe.
Wind the clock forward 19 years from the 2002 Group 1 and Higgs gets another chance at the feature race.
Higgs will race Silk Cloud in a heat of the Gold Tiara at Bathurst tonight.
Utilising the services of champion local reinswoman Amanda Turnbull, Silk Cloud has drawn outside the front row in barrier eight for her qualifier.
