Team McCarthy on Inter Dominion quest

It is hard to believe that one of Australia’s top training and driving combinations in Belinda and Luke McCarthy have yet tasted Inter Dominion success.

But the husband and wife team look as though they have a strong chance in changing that after winning two of the three pacing heats held at Menangle last Saturday night.

Their top pacer King Of Swing delivered in the first heat and then Expensive Ego and Alta Orlando finished first and second in the following qualifier.

“We haven’t won the Inter Dominion, it is the race we are after,” said Belinda.

The third pacing heat was won by the David Aiken-trained Malcolms Rhythm and the McCarthy team finished second with Spirit Of St Louis.

In the two trotting heats that night, New Zealander Majestic Man led throughout to win narrowly in the first qualifier while Timothy Red won the second heat. 1:57.1 for trainers Joe and Mary Rando.
