Team Frisby ready to go back-to-back

26 December 2021

Bathurst horseman Chris Frisby will be out to defend his title in tonight’s Group 2 Shirley Turnbull Memorial.

The $51,500 event will take place at Frisby’s local track where he will present last-start winner Aphorism.
The gelding has won eight races this season including at Dubbo on December 17.
Frisby’s son Anthony (pictured) has driven the pacer in all of his victories this year and will drive him in the feature.
Aphorism is owned by Ben Settree who is also the trainer of the second emergency, Kanena Provlima.
After missing out on enough points to gain a start in the Inter Dominion, Kanena Provlima is having his first start back at his local track after racing interstate in Queensland for three months.
As for the Frisby’s, they won last year’s edition of the Shirley Turnbull Memorial with stable hero Our Uncle Sam.
Inter Dominion-winning horseman Jason Grimson is also represented in the feature with Rubies For Tash and Egodan.
It will be a busy night for his stable with his smart two-year-old Sugar Apple engaged in the Group 3 Leeton Breeders Plate.
Sugar Apple is unbeaten in his three Australian starts and the half-brother to American Dealer has drawn barrier one for the feature.

The iForm team have put together the best bets for today:

Bathurst best bet
Race 3: Bettors Hope (10)
Useful performances against stronger opposition suggests he will take some stopping.

Bathurst next best
Race 6: Golden Year (7)
Can be prominent following handy Menangle displays lately.

Around the tracks
Leeton best bet
Race 7: Ultimate Hughey (2)
Very consistent 3yo who was brave last time and with his main threats off the back row, he looks the one to beat.

Dubbo best bet
Race 2: Constantina (4)
Racing consistently and gets a draw that can see her race on speed.  Hard to beat.
