First treble and now Rando is ready for more

22 December 2022

After driving his first treble at Penrith last week young reinsman Lucas Rando heads back to that venue tonight on the quest for more success.

Rando cannot replicate last week’s feat tonight as the 20-year-old has two drives at tonight’s meeting, both on pacers trained by his father James Rando.
The first is the consistent Southbound Train in race three that is on the verge of breaking through $100,000 in earnings.
Rando’s other drive is a race later on the promising mare Seastorie.
The New Zealand import provided Rando with his biggest victory yet when winning the Futures Ladyship Final at Penrith in September.
Rando has driven Seastorie in all five of her Australian starts that include three wins.
Meanwhile fellow young driver Josh Gallagher has three drives across the meeting and has also been in form after driving four winners at Newcastle on Saturday making him the second top concession driver in NSW this year behind Jack Callaghan.
