Morris' race towards another premiership

After taking a team of horses north to Maitland yesterday top Menangle trainer KerryAnn Morris will head back up the freeway tonight with another strong team in at Newcastle.

Morris has five horses engaged across the meeting with Robbie Morris and Joshua Gallagher sharing the drives on her runners.

Morris and Gallagher combined for a double at Newcastle last Saturday night.

This gave Gallagher four winners at that meeting, pushing him amongst the top drivers in NSW this year.

As for Morris, the 33-year-old looks set to win another NSW Trainers’ Premiership.

Morris has a clear lead over champion Bathurst trainer Steve Turnbull and his son Nathan Turnbull who are on 112 wins each while fellow horseman Bernie Hewitt is third with 111 wins.
