Last chance for Chariots Of Fire hopefuls

11 February 2023

SERIOUS horsepower will be chasing the final the spots of next week’s Chariots Of Fire at Tabcorp Park Menangle tonight.

The Paleface Adios Stakes is the last qualifier for the $250,000 Group 1, attracting some of Australasia’s finest four-year-olds.
Star Victorian pacer Catch A Wave will have his first start outside of his home state and is the main fancy for tonight’s sprint despite drawing a wide barrier.
The Andy Gath-prepared gelding has won 15 of his 19 starts.
Local pacer Cantfindabettorman (pictured) is the second favourite following an electric win at Menangle a fortnight ago where he stopped the clock in a career best 1:51.8, running his last 400m in 25.6 seconds.
He is one of three horses trainer Belinda McCarthy has in the feature along with Mr Ibiza and Muscle Bart.
The other starters in single-figure odds are Invitation Only and Heza Son Of Agun.
