Coral strides towards Go Girlfriend Final

Harness racing at Bathurst is soon to be all about the Gold Crown Carnival but tonight mares take centre stage with a heat of the Go Girlfriend series.

The qualifier leads into the $30,000 Go Girlfriend Final at Tabcorp Park Menangle on March 18.

One trainer aiming at the feature is Group 1-winning horseman Jack Trainor.

Fresh from winning the Queen Elizabeth II Mile with Braeview Kelly, Trainor has his mare Coral Stride aimed at the feature.

Raced by prolific owners Emilio and Mary Rosati, Coral Stride has had three starts this year for a win and two placings in Trainor’s care.

Coral Stride rated a personal best 1:52.9 in her latest victory.

As for Trainor, he is nearing 200 wins as a trainer with 194 victories to his credit. He has driven 713 winners.
