Jack on track for major milestone

10 March 2023

Group 1 winning driver Jack Callaghan is nearing another milestone.

Fresh from finishing second in the Miracle Mile with Spirit Of St Louis, Callaghan is counting towards 500 wins.
Courtesy of a double at Penrith last night, Callaghan has 493 winners to his credit.
The young reinsman had a career best season last year driving 178 winners and has already banked 25 wins this year.
Callaghan will head back to his home track of Newcastle this afternoon for five drives.
It was at Newcastle that Callaghan drove his first Group 1 winner when successful with Kanye Crusader in the TAB Regional Championships in 2020.
Callaghan has now collected six Group 1 victories.
There is racing all over NSW tonight with a harness meeting at Young as well as the TAB Carnival of Cups meeting at Broken Hill. The Rocky Baker Memorial Pacing Cup is the main feature.

The iForm best bets for Friday:

Newcastle best bet
Race 1: Sweet Paris (1)
Failing narrowly at Menangle midweek suggests she will take some stopping in this easier assignment.

Newcastle next best
Race 5: Just Won More (7)
Leading fancy following a much sharper display last Monday.

Around the tracks
Young best bet
Race 3: Joetomo (2)
Looks ideally drawn and should be hard to beat back to the smaller circuit.

Broken Hill best bet
Race 6: Wheresthestorm (2)
Draws well for the new stable and looks very hard to beat with the class drop.
