Hat-trick hope for Wood after long wait

Glanmire horseman Peter Wood has trained eight winners in his career and two of those victories were within the last fortnight.

Wood has enjoyed the recent success with his mare Chelseas Girl who has made it back-to-back wins at Bathurst.

Chelseas Girl won in career best time of 1:57.2 at Bathurst last week and will be out to complete a hat-trick at that venue tonight.

Wood and his mare will go around in race two, starting from barrier six.

Prior to Wood’s recent winning streak, the trainer’s previous winner was in 2021.

Also in search of a Bathurst hat-trick is Shannonsideal in race three.

Trained by Peter Bullock, the mare will be driven by Travis Bullock who has also been in strong form this season driving eight winners.
