At Young on the 30^th of May, Stewards concluded an inquiry into the reasons for the mare breaking gait and falling near the 200 metres. Trainer/Driver M Johnson provided evidence at the inquiry and viewed the patrol footage of the incident. Stewards were of the view that a hopple connecting strap had either come undone or broken, contributing to the mare breaking gait. Given the circumstances connections were advised the mare would be required to perform a re-qualifying trial prior to resuming racing.
