SUNNY GEE – Worked forward to the position outside of the leader and tired over the concluding stages. When questioned regarding the tactics employed on SUNNY GEE in particular during the middle stages driver K Morris explained that she elected to move away from the marker pegs near the 1500 metres when it appeared that she would be able to obtain the one out one back trailing position. However when ONE APOLLO NZ worked forward to cross ONE MAJIC KENNY NZ she was surprised and this left SUNNY GEE exposed in the position outside of the leader. Therefore she elected to proceed forward to challenge briefly for the lead. However when the lead was unobtainable she eased SUNNY GEE to race at the wheel of ONE APOLLO NZ for the remainder of the event. K Morris stated that SUNNY GEE is not suited racing in the position outside of the leader and subsequently SUNNY GEE weakened over the concluding stages.
