BRACKEN WARRIOR – Driver T Osmond was given the opportunity to comment on the performance of the gelding, which started favourite, she stated it is probably better when able to be driven with a sit, but connections believed in tonight’s field, with the inside front row draw, it would be better driven to lead if circumstances permitted. She added that when SONGBIRD NZ initially showed an interest in obtaining the lead she was mindful of those instructions and didn’t feel its pressure or the speed that they were going at the time were enough to go against those instructions and surrender the lead. She further added going forward if circumstances permit they would attempt to drive the gelding with a sit after its effort over the concluding stages tonight.

Driver D Perrot was given the opportunity to comment on the performance of the gelding, he stated that he was disappointed with its effort over the concluding stages particularly when he saw the time that was run.
