RACE 1 – PENRITH & NEPEAN MINI TROTTERS PACE – 2125 metres

RIPSTONE SNORTER – When being restrained approaching the 1800 metres had a tendency to hang out slightly contacting the sulky of MIKIBEQUICK and as a result was checked and broke gait.  Held up for clear running in the home straight and was not fully tested. 

MIKIBEQUICK – Approaching the 1800 metres hung in slightly.  Had its sulky contacted from RIPSTONE SNORTER.  Worked forward to the lead approaching the 1700 metres.

PERCY BAILEY – Driver Zara Fitzpatrick was questioned in regards to her driving tactics adopted on the gelding, of particular concern to the Stewards was Ms Fitzpatrick’s decision after having to work hard early to find a position outside the leader approaching the 1700 metres, to then push forward to find the lead passing 1600 metres before commencing to tire at the 300 metre mark to be beaten 19.9 metres.  Ms Fitzpatrick stated the instructions from trainer Michael Leary was to lead if possible and after doing some work early PERCY BAILEY commenced to over race and she was unable to restrain the gelding, approaching the 1600 metres the gelding worked itself to the front without being placed under any further pressure.  Stewards noted the comments of Ms Fitzpatrick.

MITCHELLS RUN – Pre-race blood sample was taken.

RIVEERED – Passing the 600 metres became unbalanced and broke gait for which a warning was issued.

STELLINA – Held up in the home straight for clear running and was not fully tested.

DAN FERNANDO NZ – Commenced to improve three wide passing the 1400 metres before finding a position outside the leader at the 1200 metres.  Post-race swab.

 

RACE 2 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 1720 metres

IDEAL REDEMPTION – Pre-race blood test.  Caught wide early before working forward to find a position outside the leader passing the 1500 metres.  Had a tendency to over race throughout the event.

NIKALONG MINT – Caught wide early before being restrained to the rear of the field passing the 1400 metres.  Hung in and hung out at various stages throughout the event.

THE TIGER ARMY – Held up in the later stages of the home straight.

CROWN MOJO – Post-race swab.

 

RACE 3 – MAJOR OAK @ CLUB PACEWAY PACE – 1720 metres

ZENXENA – Held up in the early stages of the home straight.

MCLEAN- Passing the 400 metres was tightened as a result of BETTOR TO BE TRICKY NZ moving wider on the track.  Approaching the 200 metres was checked and broke as a result of BETTOR TO BE TRICKY NZ attempting to shift wider on the track.

KATCHAR SHOOBEE – Post-race swab.

RAGING SEA – Pre-race blood test.  Checked and broke in the score up.  Caught wide early before working forward to a position outside the leader approaching the 1400 metres. 

BEE OKAY – Pre-race blood test.  Broke in the score up for which a warning was issued. 

YANKEE IDEAL – Had a tendency to over race in the early stages of the event. 

BETTOR TO BE TRICKY – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.  Shifted wider on the track passing the 400 metres inconveniencing MCLEAN.  Driver Zara Fitzpatrick was issued a reprimand under rule 163(1)(a)(iii), in that when approaching the 200 metres she has shifted her gelding wider when not sufficiently clear of MCLEAN causing that horse to be checked and break gait.  Held up in the early stages of the home straight.

YEAH SOPHIE NZ – Held up in the early stages of the home straight.

 

RACE 4 – BLACK DRAGON LIVE @ CLUB PACEWAY MAY 23 PACE – 1720 metres

SALERO – Approaching the 1200 metres as a result of the pace easing from the event raced over the wheel of TIMELY SOVEREIGN and SAILOR GIRL also contacted the sulky wheel of SALERO resulting in the mare sustaining a flat tyre and being retired from the event.

TIMELY SOVEREIGN – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.  Approaching the 1200 metres as a result of the pace easing from the event had its sulky contacted by SALERO.  Held up for clear running in the home straight and was not fully tested.

BULLY BOURNE – Had a tendency to over race throughout the event.  Obtained a run to the inside of ITZMINEONTHELINE when that horse shifted out under pressure.  Driver Bryson Grima was questioned in regards to his tactics adopted in the event.  Mr Grima stated that BULLY BOURNE’S previous run when in front was slightly disappointing and as ITZMINEONTHELINE had been racing in higher grade races felt it was the best chance in the event to take cover on that particular gelding.  Stewards noted the comments of Mr Grima.  Post-race swab.

ITZMINEONTHELINE – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1400 metres.  Shifted out under pressure despite the efforts of its driver Seaton Grima.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. 

VOLANDO DENARIO NZ – Declared a late scratching acting on veterinary advice at 9.33am.

SAILOR GIRL – Approaching the 1200 metres when the pace eased from the event, contacted and flattened the sulky wheel of SALERO as a result was checked and broke.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

DEEPWATER CAM – Inconvenienced approaching the 1200 metres as a result of the pace easing from the event.

FATHER BOB – Inconvenienced passing the 1200 metres as a result of the pace easing from the event.

POLKA DELIGHT NZ – Pre-race blood test.  Inconvenienced passing the 1200 metres as a result of the pace easing from the event.

 

RACE 5 – HAPPY 70TH IAN ALEWOOD PACE – 1720 metres

ACCELERE NZ – Held up for clear running in the home straight and was not fully tested.

MIGHTY ATOM – Three wide in the early and middle stages of the event before being restrained to the rear of the field passing the 800 metres.  Held up for clear running in the home straight and was not fully tested.

BLAZING SHANNON – Pre-race blood test.  Caught wide early before finding a position in the running line approaching the 1400 metres.

SUNDAY MORNINGS – Caught wide early before being restrained in the early stages to find a position in the running line passing the 1400 metres.

FOXY DADA – Held up for clear running in the home straight and not fully tested.

RIO DE JANEIRO BLUE NZ – Post-race swab.

 

RACE 6 – HRNSW GUARANTEED HARNESS BREEDERS NSW LADYSHIP PACE – 1720 metres

FIFTYSHADES CRESCO – Trainer/driver Brian Portelli was questioned in regards to the overall performance of FIFTYSHADES CRESCO which gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 19.4 metres. Mr Portelli stated that the mare had a tendency to over race once she found the front and felt that contributed to the overall performance of the mare.  Stewards noted the comments of Mr Portelli.

BETTINE – Caught wide early before finding a position outside the leader passing the 1300 metres.

IMA QUEEN BEE – Three wide early with a trail before finding a position outside the leader passing the 1000 metres.  Shifted out under pressure despite the efforts of the driver for which a warning was issued.  Post-race swab.

WEAREALLALONE – Pre-race blood test.

ROCKINDOWNUNDER – Caught wide early before working forward to a position outside the leader at the 1400 metres. At the request of connections, the mare will now be re-included in the mobile barrier draw.

 

RACE 7 – BEATS, BREWS & BBQ @ PENRITH SHOWGROUND JULY 13/14 PACE – 2125 metres

TELL ME THIS NZ – Raced roughly under pressure.

CLEMENTSORRELL – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. 

LYNNSAITY – Post-race swab.

MEGS MONARO – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1800 metres.  Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 38.9 metres.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. 

DEEBO – Pre-race blood test. 

SARGE – Checked between the 350 metres and 200 metres when held up behind the tiring MEGS MONARO

GREY CADILLAC – Commenced to improve three wide passing the 600 metres before finding a positon outside the leader passing the 1450 metres.  Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 51.7 metres.  A post-race veterinary examination reported the gelding to be mildly lame in the left hind and as a result acting on veterinary advice will now be stood down pending a veterinary certificate of clearance.

 

RACE 8 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 2125 metres

COUNT MONTECARLO – Had a tendency to hang in throughout the event.

DECIPHER – Broke in the score up for which a warning was issued.  Driver Jack Brown was questioned in regards to the overall performance of DECIPHER.  Mr Brown stated that after working to find the front the gelding had a tendency to over race and also felt the gelding was better suited to racing in events over a shorter distance.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

WATTOSBLAZEOFGLORY – Caught wide early before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1600 metres.  Post-race swab.

DELIGHT OF RANI – Pre-race blood test.  Approaching the 600 metres became unbalanced and broke gait for which a warning was issued.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

ROYAL VINCENT – Inconvenienced passing the 600 metres as a result of DELIGHT OF RANI breaking gait.

 

RACE 9 – PENRITH WEDNESDAY MARKETS PACE 1720 metres

ROCKNROLL SLOY – Post-race swab.

TIGER JONES – Fractious in the score up before hanging in in the score up and just after the start for which a warning was issued.  Had a tendency to race greenly throughout the event.

ART OF RHYTHM – Pre-race blood test. 

PINKROMAR – Caught wide early before working forward to a position outside the leader passing the 1300 metres.

IM NO GIFT – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 110.4 metres.  A post-race veterinary report revealed the filly to have a slow recovery rate.  In view of the performance of the filly IM NO GIFT will be required to perform one requalifying trial.

HES MY REASON – Commenced to improve three wide passing the 1300 metres before finding a position outside the leader at the 1100 metres.
