RACE 1 – PRYDE’S PROTEINPAK TROTTERS MOBILE – 2300 metres

ELLOWEN – Out of position at the start for which a warning was issued. 

GIDDY UP EYES – Failed to run on over the final 400 metres to be beaten 97.3 metres and finished in last position.  In view of the mare’s disappointing performance GIDDY UP EYES was stood down until it completes requalifying trial.  A post-race veterinary examination failed the mare had cast its left fore plate however no other obvious abnormalities were detected.

SHOULD BEABARCA – Pre-race blood sample.  Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1950 metres.  Post-race swab sample.

DOWN UNDER EARL – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  No obvious abnormalities were detected of either examination. 

TRIAGE – Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1750 metres.

 

RACE 2 – MENANGLE PARK COMMUNITY TROTTERS MOBILE – 2300 metres

TIGER TEE – Pre-race blood sample. 

MELPARK MAGIC – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  No obvious abnormalities were detected of either examination. 

PHARISEE – Became unbalanced and galloped shortly after the start for which a warning was issued and as a result the gelding took no competitive part in the event.

ITZFERGIETIME – Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1800 metres.  Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 3 – ACCESS GROUP SOLUTIONS CLEANING SERVICS PACE – 1609 metres

ULTIMATE DESTINY – Locked wheels with WHAT FOR between the 75 and 50 metres.  As this was not found to be as a result of any careless driving and was found to be as a result of minimal movement no further action was taken.

MERCURIUS – Unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight and was not fully tested.

DOUBLE SAID – Pre-race blood sample. 

TOOLIJOOA BEACH – Post-race swab sample.

WHAT FOR – Locked wheels between the 75 and 50 metres with ULTIMATE DESTINY which was racing to its outside.  As this was not found to be as a result of any careless driving and was found to be as a result of minimal movement no further action was taken. Unable to secure clear running in the home straight and was not fully tested.

 

RACE 4 – D M PLUMBING PACE – 1609 metres

KATLAS DREAM – Pre-race blood sample.  Unable to secure clear running in the home straight on the final occasion and was not fully tested. 

OPERATIVE ANNA – Unable to secure clear running in the home straight on the final occasion and was not fully tested. 

KNIGHT WALKER – Post-race swab sample.

RUM DELIGHT NZ – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  No obvious abnormalities were detected of either examination.  Caught racing three wide in the early stages until being restrained to the tail of the field passing the 1150 metres.

THE GOLDEN CROSS NZ – Raced three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside of the leader passing the 1200 metres.  Driver J Grimson pleaded guilty to a charge under rule 170(4)(a) in that approaching and passing the 50 metres he has allowed his right foot to drop from the sulky rest and as a result has made contact on at least two occasion with the hind legs of THE GOLDEN CROSS NZ.  Driver J Grimson was fined $400.

DON KEE – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding being over 12 years of age and having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  No obvious abnormalities were detected of either examination. 

 

RACE 5 – FARMER JOES A FAMILY BUSINESS PACE – 1609 metres

IDEAL HEAVEN – Failed to run on over the concluding stages to be beaten 45 metres and finished in last position. 

SNAKESKIN – Pre-race blood sample.  Worked forward to obtain the lead approaching the 1200 metres.

DOLCE DRAMA – Post-race swab sample.

SOUTHBOUND TRAIN NZ – Became unbalanced and galloped passing the 450 metres for which a warning was issued. 

SHARK DANCER – Checked behind SOUTHBOUND TRAIN NZ passing the 450 metres when avoiding the galloping runner.  Stewards questioned driver S Piltz in relation to the tactics adopted in today’s event in particular the reasons for SHARK DANCER being restrained at the start of the event.  Mr Piltz explained that the gelding was first up since 20 February 2024 and considering the speed drawn to his inside felt it would be best if the gelding was taken back at the start as he did not believe that it would have the required speed to cross forward of a numbers drawn to his inside.  Stewards advised S Piltz that they would expect the gelding to be driven in a consistent matter.

 

RACE 6 – WOODLANDS STUD – BREEDING A BETTER FUTURE PACE – 1609 metres

YOUTAKEMYBREATHAWAY NZ - Unable to secure clear running in the home straight on the final occasion and was not fully tested. 

STARZZZ REIGN - Unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight.

ABERCROMBIE ART – Became unbalanced and galloped during the score up on the first occasion and shifted in checking the running of STARZZZ REIGN result in a false start being declared.  Became unbalanced and galloped after the start on a second occasion for which the gelding will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.

AGIFTFROMTHEANGELS – Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1200 metres.  Stewards intend to speak with driver B Portelli in relation to in contacting a number of marker pegs in the home straight on the final occasion.  Post-race swab sample.

ITS DOWN TO DIGGER – Pre-race blood sample.

MONTEFIORE NZ – Caught racing the three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside of the leader passing the 1100 metres.

 

RACE 7 – ALLCOTT THUNDER PACE – 1609 metres

BE MY GIRL – Became unbalanced and galloped passing the 400 metres for which a warning was issued.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

OUTREACHEROUS REIGN NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

NO HEART THROB NZ – Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1200 metres.  Post-race swab sample.

OUSSIE SUNSHINE – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside of the leader parsing the 1200 metres.

 

RACE 8 – ALLIED EXPRESS TAXI TRUCK SERVICES PACE – 1609 metres

HERE COMES BOBBY – Slow to begin.

GIMMEFIVEMINUTESMORE NZ – Driver J Douglass was issued a reprimand udder rule 135(2) in that he failed to have the gelding on the racetrack prior to seven minutes before the start.  In not taking more severe action stewards were mindful of the driving engagement of Mr Douglass in the trial immediately prior to Race 8.

CELECTIAL GOSSIP – Pre-race blood sample.  Worked forward to the lead passing the 1300 metres. 

TITIAN RAIDER – Raced three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the lead passing the 1100 metres.  Post-race swab sample.
