A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare was displaying an elevated heart rate with a slightly elevated temperature. Mr Ison advised Stewards he would monitor the mare’s recovery prior to making a decision on a future racing programme. In dismissing the protest, it was determined that whilst DOLLARSIGN did shift PARATROUPER away from its running line position and forced it wider on the track inside the 600m, it was considered that had that incident not occurred, given the manner that the two runners ran to the finish, PARATROUPER would not have finished ahead of DOLLARSIGN.
