RACE 1 – HARAS DES TROTTEURS MOBILE – 1710 metres

DOWN UNDER RORS – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.  Pre-race blood test.  Upon entry to the home turn became unbalanced and broke gait for which a warning was issued. 

THE NIGHT KING – Declared a late scratching at 11:40am due to non-arrival.

MIDNIGHT SECRET – Checked passing the 1450 metres as a result of DOWN UNDER RORS breaking gait.  Became unbalanced and broke gait passing the 500 metres.  In view of the gelding’s recent record MIDNIGHT SECRET was stood down for a period of 10 days and until it can complete two requalifying trials.

ILLUSORY FEAT – Became unbalanced and broke gait passing the 950 metres and was placed on its last chance to race truly.

ONAWINGANDAPRAYER – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1300 metres.

TARENTAISE – Became unbalanced and broke gait approaching the 800 metres for which a warning was issued.

KENNYWOULD – Trainer Blake Fitzpatrick was fined the sum of $50 under rule 210 for failing to notify Zara Fitzpatrick as the driver of the gelding by the prescribed time.  Post-race swab.

 

RACE 2 – HOLLINGWORTH CRANE HIRE SERVICE MAIDEN PACE – 1710 metres

ZINSSAR – Pre-race blood test.

IDEAL ANDY – Surrendered the lead at the 1350 metres before working forward again to regain the lead passing the 1000 metres.

ULTIMATE DESTINY – Approaching the 1200 metres became unbalanced and broke gait for which a warning was issued. 

ACE OF REASON – Broke gait shortly after the start and will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.  Post-race swab.

MANKIND – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1350 metres.  Had a tendency to hang out throughout the event.

SWIFT AND DIRECT – Had a tendency to hang in throughout the event.

 

RACE 3 – SUN SOLUTIONS HOME IMPROVEMENT GOULBURN PACE – 1710 metres

BROOKESSMARTDANCER – Broke in the early part of the score up for which a warning was issued.  Post-race swab.

KING COREY – Held up in the early stages of the home straight.

ALL STAR MAGICIAN – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1300 metres.

SATIN BANYULA – Pre-race blood test.

 

RACE 4 – BENSTUD STANDARDBREDS NSW PACE – 1710 metres

JAYS CASH – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 87.3 metres.  In view of the overall performance of the gelding JAYS CASH will be required to perform one requalifying trial.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the left hind.  Acting on veterinary advice JAYS CASH was stood down for a period of seven days and pending a clear veterinary certificate.

HIGHWAY WRITER – Approaching the 100 metres was tightened as a result of TAKE A HIKE NZ shifting in.

WOODLEA BEAVER NZ – Pre-race blood test.  Post-race swab.

JUST ROCKNROLL – Held up in the early stages of the home straight.

SPORTY BANYULA – Held up for clear running in the home straight and was not fully tested.

FOREVER REASON – Commenced to improve three wide from the 1250 metres before finding a position outside the leader at the 950 metres.

TAKE A HIKE NZ – Fractious in the score up for which a warning was issued.  Driver Harrison Ross was issued a reprimand under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference, in that approaching the 100 metres he has allowed TAKE A HIKE NZ to shift in when not fully clear of HIGHWAY WRITER NZ causing that runner to be tightened.

 

RACE 5 – GOULBURN HAY SUPPLIES PACE – 1710 metres

TOOLIJOOA BEACH – Pre-race blood test.  Post-race swab.

ALL NIGHT LONG NZ – Had a tendency to hang in throughout the event.

GOODOLBOYSANDBEER – Caught wide early before working forward to a position outside the leader passing the 1300 metres.

PRINCE LOUIE – Caught wide early before being restrained to the rear of the field passing the 1300 metres.  Became unbalanced and broke gait passing the 600 metres for which a warning was issued. At the request of connections PRINCE LOUIE was re-included in the mobile barrier draw.

 

RACE 6 – CRUST GOURMET PIZZA GOULBURN HRNSW GUARANTEED LADYSHIP PACE – 1710 metres

GILDA JUNE – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 61.6 metres.  In view of the performance of the mare GILDA JUNE was placed on its last chance to race truly.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

SHE WHO DARES – The all clear was delayed to allow driver James Locke (second past the post) to view the footage.  After viewing the footage Mr Locke elected to lodge a protest against first place runner WHEN TO FOLDEM alleging interference approaching the first turn.  After taking evidence from both drivers James Locke and Taylah Osmond and viewing the patrol footage Stewards deemed SHE WHO DARES was tightened and contacted marker pegs and raced roughly approaching the first turn as Ms Osmond was shifting WHEN TO FOLDEM down the track however felt the interference suffered at that stage of the race was not sufficient to overturn the result with a margin of 1.3 metres at the conclusion of the event.  As a result, the protest was dismissed and all clear was given on the judge’s numbers 4-2-6-7.

MISS BALLET – Hung in after the start.

WHEN TO FOLDEM – Withstood a protest lodged by second placed SHE WHO DARES.  Driver Taylah Osmond was issued a reprimand under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for allowing her runner to shift down the track when not sufficiently clear of SHE WHO DARES causing that runner to be tightened.  Post-race swab.

CHRISSY EVE – Caught wide early before working forward to a position outside the leader passing the 1350 metres. 

LUCKILY – Caught wide early before being restrained to the rear of the field passing the 1350 metres.  Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 74.6 metres.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be suffering atrial fibrillation.  Acting under rule 101C(2)(a) Stewards stood LUCKILY down pending an ECG, veterinary certificate of clearance , a period of 14 days and until the completion of one requalifying trial.

FAY IRENE – Pre-race blood test. 

 

RACE 7 – JUSTIN ALBURY COMMUNICATIONS PACE – 1710 metres

CONSIDER IT DONE – Post-race swab.

FREASON – Commenced to improve three wide passing the 1300 metres before finding a position outside the leader approaching the 1150 metres.

RETURN SERVE – Pre-race blood test.  The gelding had a tendency to hang in throughout the event.  Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 44.5 metres.  In view of the overall performance of RETURN SERVE a warning was issued.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

ANGELSHAVTIME NZ – Trainer Dean Cernovskis was fined the sum of $50 under 210 for failing to notify himself as the driver by the prescribed time.

 

RACE 8 – DOWNLOAD THE TAB APP TODAY PACE – 2240 metres

THATS ART – Post-race swab.

KILLARA SAMURAI – Raced rough in the score up.

YUM CHA – Pre-race blood test.

THE EX HORSEIST – Caught wide early before being restrained to the rear of the field passing the 1700 metres

SIX AGAIN – Held up for clear running in the home straight and was not fully tested.

 

RACE 9 – GOULBURN SOLDIERS CLUB PACE – 1710 metres

RAGING SEA – Post-race swab.

HERE COMES BOBBY – Slow to begin from the mobile.

DON BOSTON – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse having competed in excess of 200 race starts.  Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

LIGHTNING BABY – Driver Melissa Hawke was questioned in relation to the overall performance after the gelding tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 45.2 metres.  Ms Hawke explained the horse had been racing well and due to the heavy rain in the days leading into the race LIGHTNING BABY had missed a scheduled fast work and that may have contributed to the disappointing performance.  In view of the performance of LIGHTNING BABY a warning was issued.
