RACE 1 – ELECTRIC BALLROOM @ CLUB PACEWAY APRIL 13 PACE – 1720 metres

RIPSTONE SNORTER – Unable to secure clear running until passing the 75 metres at which point RIPSTONE SNORTER improved to the inside of THERES WALLY which shifted out.

SPORTS NARRATOR – Broke gait at the start for a short distance. In view of its recent record connections were advised that SPORTS NARRATOR would now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw. Improved three wide during the middle stages before crossing to the position outside the leader near the 900 metres.

SINBINNED – Raced three wide during the early stages before working forward. Tired over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

HEAVENLY REASON – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

SEASTORIE NZ – Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines as the mare was having its first race start since 19 January 2023.

MERRYWOOD TONY – Unable to secure clear running in the latter stages of the home straight and was not fully tested.

COLIN BROMAC NZ – Unable to secure clear running until approaching the 100 metres at which point COLIN BROAC NZ was shifted wider.

 

RACE 2 – JOJUBI SADDLERY PACE – 1720 metres

DENNY ROCKS – Post-race swab sample.

BARA RILEY – Had difficulty securing clear running until passing the 100 metres.

BE MY GIRL – Inclined to race roughly at various stages throughout the event. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Driver D Morris explained the mare may not have appreciated racing away from the marker pegs and did not feel comfortable on the smaller circumference of the Penrith track. D Morris’s explanation was noted. BE MY GIRL was placed on its last chance to race truly.

ROCKSIE ROCK – Raced three wide during the early stages before working forward.

DESIDERIO – Pre-race blood sample.

 

RACE 3 – MATES4HARNESS PACE – 1720 metres

YEAH SOPHIE NZ – Tired over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

MISTER CHEESE – Inclined to over race.

CLASSIC ANGELINA – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

BETTOR TO BE TRICKY NZ - Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines. No abnormalities were detected. Raced three wide during the early stages before working forward however when unable to obtain a position in the running line BETTOR TO BE TRICKY NZ was restrained to the rear of the field approaching the 900 metres.

TIMELY SOVEREIGN - Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines. No abnormalities were detected. Approaching the 250 metres was hampered by the tiring YEAH SOPHIE NZ.

AMERICAN BEAUTY NZ – Driver S Arvidsson will be interviewed regarding AMERICAN BEAUTY NZ scoring up in barrier 9 and not its correct barrier position of 10. S Arvidsson will also be interviewed in relation to her vacating the racecourse despite being directed by Stewards to attend an inquiry.

 

RACE 4 – MOTHER’S DAY HIGH TEA @ CLUB PACEWAY PACE – 2125 metres

YANKEE IDEAL – Pre-race blood sample.

KATCHAR SHOOBEE – Gave ground over the concluding stages. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have bled from both nostrils. Acting under Rule 101(3)(a), KATCHAR SHOOBEE was stood down from racing for a period of three months and until a veterinary certificate of fitness is submitted and after which time the gelding must complete one satisfactory official trial.

WHATABOYJACK – Raced three wide during the middle stages before working forward to the lead near the 1400 metres. Post-race swab sample.

DIEING ART – Improved three wide during the middle stages before crossing to the position outside the leader near the 1100 metres.

LOORRIM CREEK – Leaving the 400 metres was checked by the tiring KATCHAR SHOOBEE and lost significant ground.

BERTIE JONES NZ – Post-race swab sample.

DAN FERNANDO NZ – Leaving the 400 metres was checked behind LOORRIM CREEK which was taken back by KATCHAR SHOOBEE which yielded ground.

 

RACE 5 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 1720 metres

KILLARA JUGGERNAUT – Post-race swab sample.

SHADES OF HEAVEN – Leaving the 100 metres had to be steadied away from SUNDAY MORNINGS when that runner was checked wider to avoid RICKOSHAY which shifted out.

SUNDAY MORNINGS – Pre-race blood sample. Inclined to over race. Leaving the 100 metres had to be checked away from RICKOSHAY which shifted out and as a result shifted out towards SHADES OF HEAVEN which was racing to its outside.

RICKOSHAY – Unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight and leaving the 100 metres shifted out to improve between CHARLIES ACE NZ and SUNDAY MORNINGS. Subsequently, SUNDAY MORNINGS to be checked away from RICKOSHAY causing SUNDAY MORNINGS to be taken out towards SHADES OF HEAVEN which was hampered. Driver Z Fitzpatrick was issued a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference.

SURF ACE – Passing the 75 metres had to be steadied away from SHADES OF HEAVEN which shifted out.

 

RACE 6 – PENRITH SHOWGROUND BEATS BREWS & BBQ 13TH & 14TH JULY PACE – 2125 metres

YOUTAKEMYBREATHAWAY NZ – Post-race swab sample.

OKAY GRINGO – Unable to secure clear running at any stage over the final 400 metres and was not fully tested.

MY STELLA ROSE – Tired over the concluding stages.

MADAZALWAYS – Out of position at the start. Driver K Bigeni was fined $50 under Rule 162(1)(j).

DAT LOVELY – The all clear was delayed in order to afford Stewards an opportunity to review the run obtained by DAT LOVELY to the inside of DIDSHEDOIT NZ between the 450 metres and the 300 metres. Evidence was taken from Driver H Ross who was also authorised to represent connections of DAT LOVELY. After reviewing the films and considering the evidence presented by H Ross, it was established that approaching the 400 metres DAT LOVELY improved into a position to the inside of DIDSHEDOIT NZ where there was insufficient room to do so. Subsequently DAT LOVELY raced inside the line of multiple marker pegs for a significant distance during which time DAT LOVELY improved forward of DIDSHEDOIT NZ. Then, passing the 300 metres DAT LOVELY regained its position outside the line of marker pegs on the course proper and finished third past the post. Acting under Rule 66(e), DAT LOVELY was disqualified from the event and the all clear was given on the numbers 1 – 5 – 6 – 9. An inquiry into the circumstances that led to DAT LOVELY improving inside of DIDSHEDOIT NZ was adjourned to a date and time to be fixed at the request of H Ross to afford him to have either Sam or Brad Hewitt be in attendance.

STONEYROYD NZ – Pre-race blood samples.

SILENT REACTION – Improved three wide during the middle stages before crossing to the position outside the leader at the 1200 metres.

 

RACE 7 – HRNSW PACE – 1720 metres

WATTOSBLAZEOFGLORY – Post-race swab sample.

A LOT OF LUVIN – Pre-race blood sample.

 

RACE 8 – CLUB PACEWAY WEDNESDAY MARKETS PACE – 1720 metres

TEAM OF STARZZZ - Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines. No abnormalities were detected. Post-race swab sample.

CLEMENTSORRELL - Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines. No abnormalities were detected. Pre-race blood sample. Raced three wide during the early stages before being restrained to the rear of the field approaching the 1200 metres.

BEAU STEELE – Unable to secure clear running at any stage during the home straight and was not fully tested.

ULTIMATE AD - Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines. No abnormalities were detected.

 

RACE 9 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 2125 metres

SAPPHIRESNDIAMONDS - Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as per HRNSW animal welfare guidelines due to the fact the mare was having her first race start since the 9 September 2022. No abnormalities were detected.  Hung out after the start.

ART OF RHYTHM – Unable to secure clear running in the latter stages of the home straight and was not fully tested.

SETTEBELLO – Pre-race blood sample. Driver B McDonough was issued with a reprimand under Rule 168(1)(a) for careless driving in that leaving the 350 metres he improved into doubtful running between SWEET ROCKY and ROCKETON and subsequently as SETTEBELLO pushed into that position, ROCKETON, which was racing to its outside was hampered. PUPPETEER - Approaching the 200 metres PUPPETEER was held up for clear running and as the gelding shifted out around COURAGE OF MONTANA which was yielding ground, PUPPETEER brushed the off side sulky of COURAGE OF MONTANA.
