STEWARDS REPORT

RACE 1 – AIR RECRUITMENT PACE – 1609 metres

ZOLTON – Broke stride shortly after the start was effected. A warning was issued.

LUVABEERWITHJOHNNY – Held up for clear running over the concluding stages and not fully tested.

LACHIES GAMBLE – Broke stride during the score up and was out of position as the start was effected. Hampered shortly after the start was effected. Broke stride approaching the first turn. Connections were advised it will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.

SPUNKYS GOTSECRETS – Pre-race blood sample. Hampered during the early stages of the score up. Post-race swab sample.

JOEYS ON A ROLL – Upon request from connections was re-included into the mobile barrier draw.

BIG BOZZ – Severely checked shortly after the start was effected. Had a tendency to over race during the early and middle stages of the event. Held up for clear running over the concluding stages and was not fully tested.

MONDELLO BEACH – Broke stride during the early stages of the score up. A warning was issued.

RACE 2 – JOHN HUNTER CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL KIDS CLUB WARATAH HEAT – 1609 metres

LACHIES IDEAL – When questioned regarding the tactics in the early stages of the event, Driver M Harding explained to Stewards that shortly after the start was effected when taking a level of restraint his runner contacted its own sulky and commenced to over race to which he was obliged in his opinion to move 3 wide to the position outside the leader. In regards to the performance Driver M Harding was not disappointed given it was first up and how the run eventuated given the early work he had to do. Stewards noted his comments.

ROCKNROLL TONY – Hampered inside the final 500 metres when trailing weakening runners.

OUR PRINCESS KENNEDY NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

TYGAR – Weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance. A post-race veterinary examination revealed it to be lame in the off side foreleg. Upon recommendation, connections were advised it would be stood down for a period of 7 days in addition to a veterinary certificate of fitness.

RACE 3 – KEVIN & KAY SEYMOUR APPRECIATION PACE – 1609 metres

SEVENTY FOUR GEE – Had a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages of the event.

PAYTONS ROCK NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Had a tendency to hang out severely during the middle and latter stages of the score up hampering OZZIE SUNSHINE resulting in a false start being declared. At the second attempt at the score up, also commenced to hang out however was able to regain its position on the mobile.  Connections were advised it would be placed on its last chance in the mobile barrier draw. Hampered and forced wider on the track as the field entered the home straight on the first occasion.

LUVARESCHS – Post-race swab sample.

INDASKY NZ – Out of position as the start was effected. No action was taken. Had a tendency to over race in the early and middle stages of the event. Hampered and forced wide on the track as the field entered the home straight on the first occasion.

LOCHINVAR LORENZO – Out of position as the start was effected. No action was taken. Had a tendency to over race severely in the early stages of the event and was obliged to move to the position outside of the leader when unable to be restrained.

STARZZZ REIGN – Broke stride as the field negotiated the first turn prior to entering the home straight on the first occasion. A warning was issued. Contacted marker pegs passing the 900 metres.

OZZIE SUNSHINE – Fractious during the early stages of the score up. Connections were advised it would be placed on its last chance in the mobile barrier draw. Hampered prior to entering the home straight on the first occasion and forced wide.

RACE 4 – HUNTER REGION STREET MACHINE PACE – 2030 metres

GO AWAY AGAIN – Pre-race blood sample. Broke stride in the early stages of the score up and was out of position as the start was effected. A warning was issued. Held up for clear running over the concluding stages and was not fully tested.

IM BILLS LAST NZ – Shifted up the track slightly at the top of the home straight for the run to the finish and hampered the running of NEXT TO ME NZ (J Gallagher) and MAJOR REASON (G Panella). Driver Z Fitzpatrick was reprimanded under Rule 170(1)(a) in that when driving out over the concluding stages allowed her foot to drop away from the foot rest.

NEXT TO ME NZ – Momentarily hampered racing down the home straight on the final occasion.

MAJOR REASON - Momentarily hampered racing down the home straight for the run to the finish.

CRAFTSMANS CHARLIE – Post-race swab sample.

POLKA DELIGHT NZ – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.

SOHO SINATRA – Prior to the declaration of all clear, stewards reviewed the patrol footage in relation to if that runner had been afforded a fair start. Upon review and taking evidence from Driver J Coney it was established that after GO AWAY AGAIN broke stride in the early stages of the score up was trailing the field and when attempting to regain its position SOHO SINATRA shifted down the track to allow it through however as a result was out of position as the start was effected. Stewards deemed SOHO SINATRA was not afforded a fair start and declared a non-runner in the field.

RACE 5 – DOUG HARMEY MEMORIAL – 1609 metres

MONTALBANO – Had a tendency to over race during the middle stages of the event.

ROYAL GAMBLE NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

ZEUSS BROMAC NZ – Post-race swab sample.

RACE 6 – RETRO NIGHT AT THE TROTS PACE – 2030 metres

WHITE STAR MOLLY – Shifted in as the field negotiated the first turn and restricted the racing room of TEAK NZ. Driver G Panella was advised to take greater care in similar circumstances.

TEAK NZ – Tightened for racing room as the field entered the first turn. Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.

PENURIOUS – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the run to the finish.

IMA QUEEN BEE – Pre-race swab sample. Post-race swab sample.

RACE 7 – RUTHERFORD MUFFLER SUSPENSION & CVS PACE – 1609 metres

GLENN FORD NZ – Fractious at both attempts at a score up during the early stages. a warning was issued.

SULTAN FELLA – Broke stride and jibbed during the early stages of the score up which checked the running of EYE CAN TRY resulting in a false start being declared. At a second attempt of the score up was again fractious and somewhat jibbed before galloping again prior to the start being effected. Connections were advised that it would now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw in addition to the completion of one requalifying trial. A post-race veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities.

JEFFCOATE – Post-race swab sample.

JACQUELINE ROSE NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

WOTNOW SWANEE – Broke stride in the early stages of the score up. A warning was issued. Had a tendency to race ungenerously at various stages of the event.

RACE 8 – GR8 WHITE TOWING PACE – 1609 metres

POINT LOOKOUT NZ – Raced somewhat greenly throughout the score up.

DANCE WITH CARMER – Driver G Chapple was reprimanded under Rule 168(1)(a) in that when driving out over the concluding stages, permitted his runner to shift down the track which momentarily hampered MATT GREGORS BOY.  

MATT GREGORS BOY – Pre-race blood sample. Hampered inside the final 50 metres. Post-race swab sample.

CAPTAIN KAOS NZ – Broke stride and hung out during the middle stages of the score up. Connections were advised it will continue to be excluded from the mobile barrier draw. Had a tendency to hang out at various stages throughout the event most notably passing the 900 metres which allowed MATT GREGORS BOY to shift away from a marker peg position and the final turn when it raced very wide when at the rear of the field. Connections were advised that given its limited experience it would be required to requalify on one occasion.

RACE 9 – HRNSW GUARANTEED TWO YEAR OLD PACE – 1609 metres

DELDARCIA – Slow away as the start was effected. Hampered as the field raced down the home straight on the first occasion.

FEISTY TIGER – Broke stride shortly after the start was effected. Connections were advised it will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.

TIGER EUPHEME – Hampered as the field raced down the home straight on the first occasion.

TWO CRACKED CORN – Broke stride in the middle stages of the score up. Connections were advised given its limited experience it will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw. Broke stride whilst leading racing down the home straight on the first occasion. Connections were advised that given its limited experience would now be required to requalify on one occasion.

LOOKIN GOOD MARGIE – Hampered as the field raced down the home straight on the first occasion.

DELIGHTFULLY SWEET – Post-race swab sample.

LITTLE WHIPPET – Pre-race swab sample.

RACE 10 – DOWNLOAD THE TAB APP TODAY PACE – 1609 metres

PINKROMAR – Hampered as the field negotiated the final turn.

MICKEYS BRIDE – Had a tendency to over race during the early and middle stages of the event and when rounding the final turn broke stride. A warning was issued.

ROSES ARE BEST – Post-race swab sample.

MYSTICAL SUNSHINE – Pre-race blood sample. Held up for clear running in the latter stages of the run to the finish.

SEACRAFT – Hampered as the field negotiated the first turn and was obliged to shift wider on the track.

MILADY EZZ – Galloped away as the start was effected. Connections were advised it will continue to be excluded from the mobile barrier draw. Broke stride as the field negotiated the final turn free of interference. Connections were advised it would be stood down to one requalifying trial. A post-race veterinary examination revealed a superficial laceration to the near side fore knee region.

SQUADRON – Held up for clear running over the concluding stages and not fully tested.
