RACE 1 – RESPECT THE DAY PACE – 2135 metres

DESIDERIO – Post-race swab sample.

REIGN MAKER – Pre-race blood sample.

ROCKSIE ROCK – Driver Klayton Bigeni was fined $50 under Rule 162(1)(h) for failing to have the gelding in position at the start. Checked after the start when DIDSHEDOIT NZ galloped out and veered inwards causing ROCKSIE ROCK to lock wheels momentarily with TEAM OF STARZZZ.

DIDSHEDOIT NZ – Galloped out and veered inwards checking ROCKSIE ROCK and TEAM OF STARZZZ causing those two runners to lock wheels and TEAM OF STARZZZ to sustain a flat offside sulky tyre. After considering the recent record of the mare, a warning was issued. Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.

GREY CADILLAC – Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.

DILETTO – Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.

TEAM OF STARZZZ – Examined prior to and following the running of the event as the gelding is 13 years of age and has competed in excess of 200 race starts. These examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Checked after the start when DIDSHEDOIT NZ galloped out and veered inwards causing TEAM OF STARZZZ to lock wheels with ROCKSIE ROCK and TEAM OF STARZZZ to sustain a flat near side sulky tyre and be retired from the event.

RACE 2 – MOUNTING OF THE CATAFALQUE PARTY PACE – 2135 metres

MERRYWOOD TONY NZ – Improved three wide from the 1000 metres until obtaining the position outside the leader passing the 700 metres.

OUR REDEMPTION – Pre-race blood sample. Driver Robert Morris was advised to exercise greater care when shifting wider on the track passing the 900 metres to avoid the tiring PLAY SOUTHERNLAND and placing JUST HOME GROWN NZ in a three wide position. In not taking further action, Stewards noted that upon entry to the home straight on the second occasion OUR REDEMPTION hung out and locked wheels momentarily with JUST HOME GROWN NZ, at which point Jake Bigeni steered JUST HOME GROWN NZ up the track away from OUR REDEMTION which allowed Mr Morris to bring his runner wider to avoid the tiring PLAY SOUTHERNLAND without causing further interference to JUST HOME GROWN NZ. Worked forward to the lead passing the 700 metres. Further, Mr Rixon who was trailing OUR REDEMTION also shifted his runner up the track to avoid PLAY SOUTHERNLAND and followed OUR REDEMTION which prevented Mr Bigeni from regaining his position in the running line.

JUST HOME GROWN NZ – Locked wheels and was checked when OUR REDEMPTION hung out passing the 1000 metres. Placed in a three wide position when OUR REDEMPTION shifted away from the marker pegs passing the 900 metres and continued to race wide for the remainder of the event before tiring over the concluding stages.

PLAY SOUTHERNLAND – Caught racing three wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to the lead when over racing passing the 1600 metres. Continued to over race throughout the remainder of the event before tiring sharply from the 800 metres severely checking TAKE IT DOWN which caused MITCHELLS RUN to be checked and race roughly. A post-race veterinary examination of the mare revealed it to be suffering from a poor post-race recovery. After considering the recent record of the mare, it was stood down until the completion of one requalifying trial.

TAKE IT DOWN – Severely checked passing the 700 metres behind the tiring PLAY SOUTHERNLAND.

MITCHELLS RUN – Checked and raced roughly behind the tiring PLAY SOUTHERNLAND passing the 700 metres.

SETTEBELLO – Post-race swab sample.

RACE 3 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 1720 metres

MAID OF MONEY NZ – Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.

POPS BOY – Broke stride during the latter stages of the score up causing a false start to be declared. After considering the recent record of the gelding, a warning was issued.

COLIN BROMAC NZ – Post-race swab sample.

SWEDISH MEATBALLS – Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1500 metres.

AGIFTFROMTHEANGELS – Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before being restrained to the tail of the field passing the 1400 metres. Locked wheels with VINKE B NZ when being restrained passing the 1500 metres. Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.

VINKE B NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Locked wheels momentarily with AGIFTFROMTHEANGELS passing the 1500 metres when that runner was being restrained to the tail of the field.

THERES WALLY – Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.

AMERICAN BEAUTY NZ – Stewards questioned Driver Zara Fitzpatrick with regards to the performance of the mare which tired over the concluding stages to finish in 9th placing beaten 10 metres. Miss Fitzpatrick advised Stewards the mare never travelled throughout the event and failed to let down over the concluding stages. Miss Fitzpatrick added the mare performs better when able to lead. A post-race veterinary examination of the mare failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. After consideration, Stewards determined to note the comments of Miss Fitzpatrick.

RACE 4 – ODE OF REMEMBERANCE PACE – 1720 metres

CLASSY OPERATOR NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

BARTELLO – Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before being restrained to the tail of the field passing the 1400 metres.

KILLARA JUGGERNAUT – Hung in sharply passing the 400 metres. Driver Chloe Formosa was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference in that passing the 200 metres she failed to make sufficient effort to prevent the gelding from hanging in under pressure placing BETTOR TO BE TRICKY NZ in restricted room and causing that runner to race roughly.

BETTOR TO BE TRICKY NZ - Examined prior to and following the running of the event as the gelding is 10 years of age and has competed in excess of 200 race starts. These examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Placed in restricted room and raced roughly passing the 200 metres when KILLARA JUGGERNAUT hung in under pressure.

RACE 5 – REMEMBER OUR DIGGERS PACE – 1720 metres

PALATINO NZ – Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.

TWILIGHT HEAVEN – Pre-race blood sample.

MAJOR STATEMENT – Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1400 metres.

ALWAYS THUNDER – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1300 metres. Over raced when leading the event. Post-race swab sample.

FOXY DADA – Held up in the home straight and not fully tested.

SIGHT TO SEE – Tired over the concluding stages to finish in 10th placing beaten 94 metres. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. After considering the recent record of the gelding, it was stood down until the completion of one requalifying trial.

RACE 6 – THE LAST POST PACE – 1720 metres

ROCKETON – Pre-race blood sample.

STYLISH LAZARUS – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1300 metres. Stewards questioned Driver Blake Fitzpatrick with regards to the performance of the filly which finished in 3rd placing as a pronounced favourite in the event. Mr Fitzpatrick advised Stewards he was disappointed with the performance of the filly although it did have to do a little work to find the lead of the event. Mr Fitzpatrick further added in his opinion the form of STYLISH LAZARUS has only been average but he would suggest tonight’s performance was below its best. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the filly to be 3/5 lame in the near side hind leg and was stood down until the production of a veterinary certificate of clearance. After considering the explanation provided by Mr Fitzpatrick and the veterinary recommendations Stewards determined to take no further action.

IMA SHINKANSEN – Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before being restrained to a position in the running line passing the 1400 metres.

RACE 7 – GALLIPOLI MEMORIAL PACE – 1720 metres

MY STELLA ROSE – Over raced when leading the event. Post-race swab sample.

ROSE NOIRE NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Hung in at various stages throughout the event. Stewards questioned Driver Jack Brown with regards to the performance of the mare which tired over the concluding stages to finish in 10th placing beaten 44 metres. Mr Brown advised Stewards despite the work of the mare being good at home the performance tonight was well below average and for some reason the mare doesn’t to be putting it together at the races. After considering the explanation provided by Mr Brown, Stewards determined to note his comments.

ROGERVALARIO LOMBO – Over raced throughout the middle stages of the event.

RACE 8 – HRNSW GUARANTEED HARNESS BREEDERS NSW LADYSHIP PACE – 1720 metres

ARTFUL BABE – Placed in restricted and contacted marker pegs rounding the first turn by ROCKING LOU.

ROCKING LOU – Driver Chloe Formosa was advised to exercise greater care when she placed ARTFUL BABE in restricted room rounding the first turn causing that runner to contact marker pegs.

TARAMIN – Driver Glenn McElhinney reported to Stewards after the event that the deafeners failed to release.

MICKEYS BRIDE – Post-race swab sample.

CLASSIC WATCH – Pre-race blood sample.

DIGYOURHEELSIN - Examined prior to and following the running of the event as the mare had not competed in the previous 12 months. These examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Broke after the start. After considering the recent record of the mare, a warning was issued.

SARA TA SLOY – Improved three wide from the 1500 metres until obtaining the position outside the leader passing the 1200 metres. Stewards questioned Driver Jack Brown with regards to the filly tiring over the concluding stages of the event to finish in 9th placing beaten 53 metres. Mr Brown reported to Stewards the filly commenced to hit her knee when placed under pressure passing the 400 metres and as a result commenced to pace roughly and lost ground. Mr Brown further advised Stewards the filly would now likely go for a spell. A post-race veterinary examination of the filly failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. After considering the explanation provided by Mr Brown, Stewards determined to note his comments.

TIMELY SOVEREIGN – Pre-race blood sample. Examined prior to and following the running of the event as the gelding is 11 years of age and has competed in excess of 200 race starts. The examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

ULTIMATE AD - Examined prior to and following the running of the event as the gelding has competed in excess of 200 race starts. The examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
