KARALTA COURAGE – Post-race swab sample was obtained.

FRONTLINER – Pre-race blood sample was taken.

BENJIMAGEE – When questioned in relation to the performance trainer/driver Mr S Ison said that whilst racing outside the lead without cover the gelding was unsuited to the tempo of the race and after being unable to obtain cover was left exposed for too long.  He said that because of this, when placed under pressure inside the 500 metres BENJIMAGEE was unresponsive and could not improve.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.

SEVEN RIPPIN ACES – When questioned in relation to the tactics adopted, driver J Coney explained that she had been instructed to drive forward and obtain a position outside the lead. She said that when attempting to achieve this in the early stages she was trapped wide due to being unable to muster sufficient speed to cross. She said that entering the back straight on the first occasion she drove vigorously, however when reaching the outside of BENJIMAGEE the gelding raced roughly, which obliged her to restrain, resulting in it being again trapped wide on the track. She added that because of this she was forced to restrain to the rear of the field and after racing with cover for a short distance she placed the gelding under pressure inside the 500m where it responded relatively well and ran to the finish moderately. She stated that despite the circumstances of today’s race, in her opinion SEVEN RIPPIN ACES was best suited when racing in a forward position whether receiving cover or not and displays tendency’s that require constant pressure being asserted. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.

CATCHINGCONFIDENCE – Forced wider and raced roughly momentarily passing the 500 metres when racing on the outside of MONTANA NIGHTS which shifted out abruptly despite the efforts of its driver.

ASHLEYS BLUE CHIP – Broke stride free of any external factors rounding the turn after the start and galloped.  Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s racing record.

RAINBOW JET – When questioned in relation to the tactics adopted, driver G Panella explained that she was instructed to drive forward in the early stages and attempt to obtain a position outside the lead.  She said that despite driving vigorously in the early stages the gelding could not muster sufficient speed to be forward and she was caught wide rounding the turn after the start, then entering the back straight was forced to check and shift wider again to avoid GOTONEBETTOR. She said that after this, she again drove forward in an attempt to follow instruction but was unable to reach the lead or obtain cover forward of midfield and was obliged to restrain to the rear. She stated that passing the 500m the gelding was not travelling strongly enough to circle the field and she elected to shift to the inside in the hope of obtaining clear running closer to the marker pegs and after this the gelding responded well and ran to the finish relatively strongly.

GOTONEBETTOR – Broke stride free of any external factors rounding the turn after the start and galloped.  Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record.
