GENERAL – Due to significant overnight rainfall the track was inspected prior to the meeting proceeding and the mobile barrier was tested on multiple occasions.  Stewards deemed the track suitable for racing, however ordered that the mud guards were to be fitted.

 

RACE 1 – THE TAB APP NSW BRED TWO YEAR OLD HEAT – 1720 metres

OUR TRIPLE MAJOR – Pre-race blood sample.

WHIRILY MAURZ – Paced roughly passing the 700 metres and gave ground over the concluding stages.

ANGELIC ATTITUDE – Over raced during the middle stages.

JUNGLE DRAGON – Post-race swab sample.

SPLASH ATTAQUE – Broke clear of interference approaching the 1000 metres, however in view of the extremely wet track conditions some leniency was extended and a warning was issued.  A post-race veterinary examination of SPLASH ATTAQUE failed to reveal any significant findings.

 

RACE 2 – YOUNG CARNIVAL OF CUPS 8TH NOVEMBER NSW BRED THREE YEAR OLD HEAT – 1720 metres

PIRATES MAGIC – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten in excess of 90 metres, however in view of the extremely wet track conditions some leniency was extended and a warning was issued.

KNOW THE SCORE – Pre-race blood sample.  Inconvenienced passing the 500 metres and held up behind PIRATES MAGIC which commenced to tire.

OUR GOAT – Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 3 – HILLTOPS EQUINE CENTRE PACE – 1720 metres

I AM THE TORNADO – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the mare not having started in the preceding 12 months.  These examinations did not reveal any significant findings.

CITRINE – Pre-race blood sample. 

KELLOSHEIL – Post-race swab sample.

ITSOKAYNOTTOBEOKAY – Pre-race blood sample. 

VINY JAY – Out of position at the start and a warning was issued.

 

RACE 4 – NSWSOA PACE – 1720 metres

The start of this event was delayed due to FRESH PRINCE requiring a gear adjustment.

ALWAYS BE RONNIE – Held up inside the final 200 metres and as a result was not fully tested.

TENEACHWAY – Galloped out as the start was affected and a warning was issued.  Broke clear of interference passing the 1400 metres and a warning was issued.

KEEPERS IDEAL NZ – Post-race swab sample.

PRINCE LOUIE – Pre-race blood sample.

TUKURUA – Held up inside the final 200 metres.

ROCK QUEEN – Inconvenienced shortly after the start when TENEACHWAY broke gait.

SUNNYWITHACHANCE – Inconvenienced shortly after the start when TENEACHWAY broke gait.  Driver Maurice Johnson was questioned regarding the tactics adopted on the mare in particularly his decision to improve forward passing the 1100 metres which resulted in SUNNYWITHACHANCE being caught three wide thereafter.  Mr Johnson explained that the speed of the event was very slow at that stage and he felt that SUNNYWITHACHANCE would benefit by being able to obtain a forward position however he felt that the mare failed to quicken when wide on the track given the extremely wet track conditions.  Upon consideration of the matter Stewards were satisfied the tactics adopted in the circumstances were not entirely unreasonable noting the slow second quarter, however advised Mr Johnson it was extremely unlikely in the circumstances that PRINCE LOUIE, which was occupying the position outside the leader, would relinquish this position to SUNNYWITHACHANCE.  Given the beaten margin of SUNNYWITHACHANCE (61.7 metres) a warning was issued.  A post-race veterinary examination of SUNNYWITHACHANCE failed to reveal any significant findings.

 

RACE 5 – SIM.PLE – LIFESTYLE & COFFEE BAR PACE – 1720 metres

KICK THE SWITCH – Pre-race blood sample.  Broke momentarily during the score up.  Post-race swab sample.

MIGHTY ATOM – Locked wheels with SHEZ THE REASON approaching the 200 metres.

SHEZ THE REASON – Locked wheels with MIGHTY ATOM approaching the 200 metres momentarily.  Trainer/driver Brad Hewitt was questioned regarding the performance of the mare which finished in 8TH place beaten 25 metres ($5.50).  Mr Hewitt explained he was at a loss to provide any tangible explanation for the performance and added SHEZ THE REASON had proven somewhat disappointing this preparation at various stages.

 

RACE 6 – POPPAS FUDGE FACTORY PACE – 1720 metres

SEE ME NO MORE – Pre-race blood sample.

LESSISMORE – Hung out and paced roughly passing the 600 metres.

MILLWOOD GRACE NZ – Driver Blake Micallef was spoken to advisedly regarding his whip action over the concluding stages.

REBOUNDER – Driver John O’Shea was fined $400 under Rule 156(2)(a) in that inside the final 200 metres he applied the whip with more than a wrist only flicking motion.  In assessing penalty, Stewards were mindful of Mr O’Shea’s recent offence record which displayed one relevant offence.  Stewards refrained from tacking action against Mr O’Shea for dropping his right foot approaching the 100 metres given the extremely wet track conditions.  Post-race swab sample.

DARE TO DREAM – Pre-race blood sample.

PENCIL ME IN – Held up rounding the home turn in the early stages of the straight.

 

RACE 7 – RIVERINA STOCKFEEDS PACE – 1720 metres

CAPTAIN OF SPEED – Post-race swab sample.

MITTYS THREE ACES NZ – Tired over the concluding stages to beaten in excess of 82 metres.  MITTYS THREE ACES NZ will now be stood down from racing until trialling to the satisfaction of Stewards.

IDEAL TAO – Checked approaching the 100 metres when PLAY UP A STORM broke gait.

STELLINA – Held up rounding the home turn in the early part of the straight.  Inconvenienced approaching the 100 metres when PLAY UP A STORM broke gait.

BETTERTHANTHEBOYZ – Checked and contacted marker pegs as a result of PLAY UP A STORM breaking gait approaching the 100 metres.

PLAY UP A STORM – Broke under pressure approaching the 100 metres resulting in IDEAL TAT, BETTERTHANTHEBOYZ, GIRL JUST FLY, CRACKER MISS and STELLINA being checked.  A warning was placed on the record of PLAY UP A STORM.

GIRL JUST FLY – Checked approaching the 100 metres as a result of PLAY UP A STORM breaking gait.

CRACKER MISS – Checked approaching the 100 metres as a result of PLAY UP A STORM breaking gait.

CATCH THE SHARK – Pre-race blood sample.

 

RACE 8 – SWS BANK WARATAH HEAT – 1720 metres

HELLO I TEA – Post-race swab sample.

JEKAMIAS NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

STARZZZ REIGN – Held up inside the final 200 metres at various stages.

MISTER BLUECHIP – Raced fiercely during the score up and made contact with the sulky of JEKAMIAS NZ.  A warning was placed on the record of MISTER BLUECHIP.
