RACE 1 – NSWSOA PACE – 1730 metres

A DUSTY DANCE – Raced roughly in the latter stages of the score, as a result was out of position at the start.  A warning was issued.

HEZ ON THE BUZZER NZ – When negotiating the first turn became unbalanced and broke stride.  A warning was issued.

CARBAGANOOSH – Checked after the start when HEZ ON THE BUZZER NZ broke stride.

MISTER MANAGER – Pre-race blood.  Post-race swab.

 

RACE 2 – NSWSOA PACE – 1730 metres

NIKALONG MINT – Pre-race blood.

QUESTRO QUEEN NZ – Broke stride in the early stages of the score up and was out of position at the start.  A warning was issued.  The mare took no competitive part in the race.

PRINCE LOUIE – Post-race swab.

ALWAYSBMINNIE – Driver J Reynolds was queried on the overall performance of the filly when she failed to run on over the concluding stages to finish in seventh position beaten 8.1 metres.  He stated although racing at the tail of the field the filly had an economical run and was extremely disappointing when placed under pressure over the final 400 metres. 

 

RACE 3 – THE TAB APP PACE – 1730 metres

MISTERFOURTHOUSAND – Post-race swab.

HAPPY REG – A pre and post-race veterinary examination were conducted as the gelding has not started since 28 June 2023.  No abnormalities were detected on either examination.  Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and not fully tested.

HOOKED ON WINNING NZ – Driver J Turnbull was fined the sum of $200 under rule 156(2)(a) in that when applying his whip in the home straight on the final occasion has done so with more than a wrist only flicking motion.

SPORTY MARY – Pre-race blood. 

THE HANDSOME ONE – Broke stride shortly after the start.  Considering the gelding’s recent record it will be placed outside the mobile barrier draw in future starts.  Tailed the field for the entire event.

 

RACE 4 – BAKERS BUTCHERY LADYSHIP PACE – 1730 metres

WARRAWEE FLYER – Held up for clear racing room until the final 100 metres.

MERAKI – Post-race swab.

MAJOR ENVY NZ – Pre-race blood. 

 

RACE 5 – KNICKERBOCKER HOTEL PACE – 1730 metres

MIGHTY ATOM – Pre-race blood. 

JAYJAYBENNY – Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and was not fully tested. 

ALLSTARZZZ FRANKIE – Leaving the 600 metres became unbalanced and broke stride.  A warning was issued.

THERESA LOVE NZ – Post-race swab.

 

RACE 6 – HYNASH CONSTRUCTIONS PACE – 2260 metres

TOOLITTLETOOLATE – Although being inconvenienced when trailing RIVERINA FLASH who was giving ground passing the 400 metres, weakened out of the event to finish in tenth and last position beaten 74.1 metres.  Connections were advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s record.

FULL OF WISDOM – Broke stride in the score up.  A warning was issued.

RIVERINA FLASH – Driver T Bullock was questioned on the overall performance of the gelding after leading the event failed to run on over the concluding stages to finish in ninth position beaten 70.2 metres.  He stated after obtaining an easy lead when challenged by TUKURUA in the middle stages of the event the gelding commenced to over race and as a result when placed under pressure over the final 400 metres failed to run on.  He further added that the longer distance may have also been detrimental to the overall performance.  Connections were advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s record.

TUKURUA – Had a tendency to over race throughout.

BELL RIVER BOY – Post-race swab.

SO AM I – Pre-race blood. 

 

RACE 7 – BLINDS BY DESIGN PACE – 2260 metres

CHILLAX – Broke stride in the score up on two occasions causing two false starts.  Acting under rule 141(4) CHILLAX was declared a late scratching at 7.15pm.  Connections were advised the gelding would be placed outside the mobile barrier draw in future starts and must also complete one requalifying trial.

THE RINGMASTER – Driver A Clancy pleaded guilty to a charge under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when shifting his runner down to the marker line shortly after the start has done so when insufficiently clear of TULHURST JANET  who made contact to the inside sulky wheel of THE RINGMASTER being checked and race roughly for a short distance.  In assessing penalty Stewards took into consideration Mr Clancy’s guilty plea, his record in relation to this rule, his licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of 10 days.  The suspension is to commence at midnight Wednesday, 26 June 2024.

ARTFUL PRINCE – Driver W Judd pleaded guilty to a charge under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that when entering the first turn he shifted his runner down the track to the marker line when insufficiently clear of TULHURST JANET, as a result that runner was tightened for racing room and checked.  In assessing penalty Stewards took into consideration Mr Judd’s guilty plea and his record in relation to this rule, his licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of seven days.  The suspension is to commence at midnight Wednesday, 26 June 2024.  Post-race swab.

LOOKOUT NZ – Driver D McKenzie was queried on the overall performance of the mare when she tired over the final 500 metres to finish in ninth and last position beaten 102.4 metres.  He stated the two false starts were detrimental to the mare’s performance but was disappointed how the mare performed in tonight’s event.  LOOKOUT NZ will be stood down for one requalifying trial.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

JAZZMIN – Pre-race blood. 

TULHURST JANET – Shortly after the start was tightened and contacted the sulky wheel of THE RINGMASTER and raced roughly for a short distance when that runner was directed down the track when insufficiently clear.  When entering the first turn was tightened for racing room and checked when ARTFUL PRINCE had shifted down to the marker line when insufficiently clear.
