RACE 1 – LATHER UP – SALE TOPPING FIRST SEASON SIRE TROTTERS STANDING START HANDICAP – 1609 metres

MILITARY MERIT – Galloped out at the start and took no competitive part in the event for which a warning was issued.

ALDEBARAN BELLE NZ – Raced roughly after the start for a short distance. Post-race swab sample.

PHOEBE MAJESTIC NZ – Became unbalanced and galloped leaving the 800 metres and again passing the 200 metres for which the mare was stood down until it completes one requalifying trial. It was reported following the event the mare had cast a plate.

MONARCH STRIDE – Became unbalanced and galloped leaving the 350 metres for which the gelding was stood down until it completes one requalifying trial.

RACING EYES – Pre-race blood sample. Became unbalanced and galloped approaching the 1000 metres for which the gelding was stood down until it completes one requalifying trial.

MELPARK MAGIC – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.

KYVALLEY FINN – Driver G Fitzpatrick dropped his left foot from the sulky momentarily from the sulky passing the 75 metres.

TEDESCO NZ – Became unbalanced and galloped leaving the 500 metres for which a warning was issued.

JAKARTA NZ – Caught racing three wide in the early stages and as a result raced wide for the remainder of the event.

 

RACE 2 – MENANGLE PARK GLENLEE COMMUNITY PACE – 1609 metres

DREAM TO DANCE – Unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight and was not fully tested.

BELLRIVERGIRL – Stewards questioned Driver C Hart in relation to the below market expectation performance ($4.80) of the mare when failing to run on over the concluding stages to be beaten 21.1 metres and finished in 7th position. Driver C Hart explained the mare was not suited when racing outside the leader around Menangle at its first start. Mr Hart believed the mare may be better suited to racing at Penrith. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

SAPPHIRESNDIAMONDS – Unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight and was not fully tested.

LARRIKIN LENNY – Pre-race blood sample.

ALWAYS A SAM – Galloped out at the start for which the gelding will continue to be placed outside the mobile barrier draw. Became unbalanced and galloped leaving the 400 metres for which the gelding will be stood down until it completes one requalifying trial.

 

RACE 3 – CONDELL PARK PRODUCE PACE – 1609 metres

OPERATIVE ANNA – Post-race swab sample.

THE GOLDEN CROSS NZ - A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.

HIGHVIEW SADLER NZ – Pre-race blood sample. A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding being 12 years of age and having competed in excess of 200 race starts. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.

JOGALONG BLUE – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside the leader passing the 1100 metres.

CRAZY SHIPPO – Caught racing three wide during the early stages until being restrained to the tail of the field passing the 1200 metres.

 

RACE 4 – BUBBA GUMP PEST CONTROL PACE – 1609 metres

THERES WALLY – Unable to secure clear running in the home straight on the final occasion and was not fully tested.

RESET THE BAR NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 900 metres. Post-race swab sample.

CABANA – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside the leader passing the 1100 metres.

WATCH ME REACT – Unable to secure clear running in the home straight on the final occasion and was not fully tested.

PALATINO NZ – Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1350 metres.

 

RACE 5 – APIAM AGNES BANKS EQUINE DENTISTRY PACE – 1609 metres

GIMME A REASON – Stewards questioned Driver G McElhinney in relation to his decision to improve three wide leaving the 950 metres and as a result was caught wide for the remainder of the event. Mr McElhinney explained it was consistent with the gelding’s usual racing pattern to be driven in a forward position and as a result of the tempo appearing to come out of the event he elected to improve however when racing to the outside of RIPSTONE SNORTER, GIMME A REASON failed to improve forward and failed to run on over the concluding stages to be beaten 119 metres and finished in 9th position. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be suffering from atrial fibrillation which was determined to be its first offence and acting under the provisions of 101C(2)(a) the gelding was stood down from racing for a period of 14 days, a veterinary certificate of fitness including the results of an ECG are submitted and until it completes one requalifying trial.

RIPSTONE SNORTER – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until obtaining the position outside the leader passing the 1200 metres. Stewards questioned Driver T McElhinney in relation to her decision passing the 900 metres when GIMME A REASON improved to its outside and held her position outside the leader. Ms McElhinney explained she was happy to let GIMME A REASON progress forward however when GIMME A REASON improved to her outside GIMME A REASON failed to improve forward and as a result she elected to maintain her position.

WHISKEY ROYALE – Became unbalanced and galloped leaving the 400 metres for which the gelding was stood down until it completes 2 requalifying trials and for a period of 14 days.

AERODYNE GUY – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until being restrained to the tail of the field passing the 1200 metres.

 

RACE 6 – BE HAPPY MACH @ WINGATE FARM PACE – 1609 metres

PARALLEL – Post-race swab sample. Stewards questioned Driver R Morris in relation to the above market expectation performance of the gelding when successful in today’s event. Driver R Morris explained he was happy with the way the gelding had been racing in recent runs and was surprised by the odds of the gelding in today’s event.

ERUPT STRIDE NZ – Pre-race blood sample. A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding not having competed in the previous 12 months. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.

 

RACE 7 – ALLIED EXPRESS SPECIALISED LOGISTICS PACE – 1609 metres

FEAR THE BANKER – Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1150 metres.

WINONA WRITER – Checked behind the weakening THATS ART from the 800 metres.

THATS ART – Failed to run on from the 800 metres to be beaten 332 metres and finished in last position. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have suffered atrial fibrillation which was determined to be its second offence. Acting under the provisions of Rule 101C(2)(b) the gelding was stood down from racing for a period of 28 days, until a veterinary certificate of fitness including the result of an ECG are submitted and until the completion of two requalifying trials. Trainer C Judd advised Stewards it was his intention to spell the gelding.

VINKE B NZ – Became unbalanced and galloped leaving the 400 metres for which a warning was issued. Checked behind the weakening THATS ART from the 800 metres.

RED REACTOR NZ – Checked behind the weakening THATS ART from the 800 metres. Post-race swab sample.

FIRE AND SWORD – Checked behind the weakening THATS ART from the 800 metres.

LOUTENANT NZ – Pre-race blood sample.
