RACE 1 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 1609 metres

FREDDIES DELIGHT – Pre-race blood sample was taken.  Hung out during the early and middle stages.  Post-race swab sample was obtained.

SULTAN FELLA – Passed required pre-race veterinary examination.

OUR BUSHWACKER – Passed required pre-race veterinary examination.

DARK SIDE NZ – Passed required pre-race veterinary examination.

 

RACE 2 – FAMILY HOTEL TAMWORTH PACE – 1980 metres

PHAR LUME NZ – Pre-race blood sample was taken.

LUCKY TERROR – Jostled with MAKE MINE BETTOR for some distance inside the 400 metres when attempting to obtain clear running, then at the entrance to the home straight when attempting to improve around PHAR LUME NZ, struck the sulky of PHAR LUME NZ which had shifted out marginally, became unbalanced, broke stride and galloped.  Subsequently T Ison, the trainer / driver, was reprimanded under AR 168(1)(a), for failing to allow sufficient room when attempting to improve between runners.

VERY NEEDY – Post-race swab sample was obtained.

SPOOKY ART – Following required satisfactory performance connections were advised that the gelding is now be eligible to take its place in the mobile barrier draw.

 

RACE 3 – PORTABLE HORSE STABLE PACE – 1609 metres

LOOKAT MEE – Post-race swab sample was obtained.

VAN NIEKERK NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

 

RACE 4 – CARPET ONE FLOOR & HOME TAMWORTH PACE – 1609 metres

THREE PARTS GREY – Pre-race blood sample. 

ZOEMAGIC – Passed required pre-race veterinary examination.

SHADOW ECLIPSE – Passed required pre-race veterinary examination.

HAPPY AS – Passed required pre-race veterinary examination.

SKY DIAMOND NZ – Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 5 – RENEW YOUR CLUB MEMBERSHIP PACE – 1980 metres

KATASTROPHEE – Slow to begin.  Had to be checked for some distance inside the 400 metres when racing behind COUNTRY MAJOR which weakened.

BETTOR KEEP ROCKING NZ – Slow to begin. 

BARRYS BROTHER – Slow to begin.

CATCHINGCONFIDENCE – Hung out during the middle stages.  Post-race swab sample.

CERTAINLYCALLITIN – Pre-race blood sample.  Pulled hard during the early and middle stages.

COUNTRY MAJOR – When questioned in relation to the performance, trainer/driver Mr T Ison explained that the gelding failed to travel at any stage and when placed under pressure in the 600 metres was unresponsive before weakening noticeably and running to the finish in a disappointing manner.  He said that he intended to freshen the gelding and providing it responded accordingly it would not race for at least three weeks.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.  Mr Ison was advised that a warning for poor performance would be placed on the gelding’s racing record.

 

RACE 6 – TAMWORTH VETERINARY HOSPITAL PACE – 1609 metres

QUEEN TREACHERIE NZ – Post-race swab sample.

IMPERIAL SNAPPER – Trainer/driver Miss S Rushbrook was cautioned in relation to the manner that she applied the whip over the concluding stages.

SUPERBON – Hung in during the middle stages.

GOTONEBETTOR – Pre-race blood sample.

 

RACE 7 – COOPERS BREWERY PACE – 1980 metres

RUNFROMTERROR – Broke stride free of any external factors during the score up and galloped away when the start was affected.  Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the horse’s racing record.

FAST TRACKER – Pre-race blood sample.

MCCRIKEY NZ – Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 8 – STARMAKER THREE YEAR OLD CLASSIC – 1980 metres

LA DERNIERE – Passed required pre-race veterinary examination.  Momentarily crowded and had to be steadied rounding the turn after the start when racing tight on the inside of PRINCESS REMI which shifted in when not quite clear.  Subsequently T Ison the trainer/driver of PRINCESS REMI was reprimanded under AR 163(1)(a)(iii). When questioned in relation to the performance, driver G Chapple explained that after being hampered in the early stages he restrained to a position of cover, however the filly failed to travel at any stage, was unresponsive when placed under pressure and ran to the finish in a disappointing manner. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality. Connections were advised that prior to racing again LA DERNIERE must perform competitively in an official qualifying trial.
