RACE 1 – THE TAB APP LADYSHIP PACE – 1720 metres

 

TULHURST JANET – Over-raced during the middle stages of the event.

MISS ARDLETHAN – Declared a late scratching at 12.05pm on Vet’s advice.

ALLANEE – Trainer N Day was fined $50 under Rule 210 for not declaring a Driver for the mare by the required time.

MILLWOOD GRACE NZ – Post-race swab sampled.

PIRANI PRINCESS – Pre-race swab sampled. Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take up the position outside the leader leaving the 1200 metres.         

LOGAN REASON – Trainer M Day was given the opportunity to comment on the below market expectations performance of the mare, he stated that he was disappointed with it and at a loss to explain it. He added that it appeared to race roughly at stages and added that going forward he was likely to go back to putting a senior Driver on it.

MILLIONDOLLAR KISS – Checked from the back of the tiring PIRANI PRINCESS leaving the 400 metres, as a result its sulky wheel was contacted by ULTIMATE TROUBLE.

ULTIMATE TROUBLE – Contacted the sulky wheel of MILLIONDOLLAR KISS when that runner was checked leaving the 400 metres, and was checked and broke gait

 

RACE 2 – AUSTRALIAN HOTEL PACE – 1720 metres

 

BOTTLE ROCK – Post-race swab sampled.

BETTERTHANTHEBOYZ – Driver M Rue was issued with a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference in that leaving the 1000 metres he shifted the mare in when not sufficiently clear of LEAD ROLE which was tightened for room.

FLEUR BELLA – Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take up the position outside the leader leaving the 1200 metres.

DIGYOURHEELSIN – Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take up the position outside the leader near the 1400 metres.

LEAD ROLE – Hung-in rounding the first turn, for which a warning was issued. Hung-out leaving the 1400 metres. Tightened for room leaving the 1000 metres when BETTERTHANTHEBOYZ shifted in.

SEE ME NO MORE – Tightened for room approaching the 1400 metres when JOES REDEMPTION shifted in.

JOES REDEMPTION – Pre-race swab sampled. Driver N Turnbull was issued with a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference in that approaching the 1400 metres he shifted the gelding in when not sufficiently clear of SEE ME NO MORE which was tightened for room.

FIFTYSHADESOFHAY NZ – Made a three wide mid race move to take over the position outside the leader near the 1000 metres. Placed back in the draw for future mobile start races.

 

RACE 3 – RIVERINA STOCKFEEDS PACE – 1720 metres

 

CARMEN ON BLING – Pre-race swab sampled. Post-race swab sampled.

CALA JEWEL – Trainer/Driver M Rue was given the opportunity to comment on the below market expectations performance of the filly, he stated that he felt the filly had travelled okay, however approaching the 400 metres when he was obliged to shift wider on the track in an attempt to improve, he felt it was a disadvantage to be wider form that point on the recently resurfaced track.

BACKINTOWN – Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take up the position outside the leader near the 1200 metres. Over-raced during the middle stages of the event.

 

RACE 4 – YOUNG SERVICES CLUB PACE – 1720 metres

 

IDEAL TAO – Shifted out while leading near the 400 metres resulting in MAJOR MUCHA obtaining a run to its inside. At a subsequent inquiry, Driver M Johnson pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 162(1)(www)(c) for allowing his runner to shift ground which advantaged another runner, in that near the 400 metres, he made insufficient effort to prevent his runner, which was leading, from shifting out which allowed MAJOR MUCHA to obtain a run to his inside and obtain the lead which advantaged that runner, also the shift out resulted in DEAD EYE TIKI and MAJOR MUCHA being taken up the track and being inconvenienced. In assessing penalty, Stewards took into account M Johnson’s guilty plea, his driving record, and the particular circumstances of the incident. Driver M Johnson had his license to drive in races suspended for a period of 21 days.

DEAD EYE TIKI – Inconvenienced near the 400 metres when taken wider when IDEAL TAO shifted out.

JOHN RICHARD – Pre-race swab sampled. Inconvenienced near the 400 metres when taken wider when IDEAL TAO shifted out. Trainer/Driver M Rue was given the opportunity to comment on the below market expectations performance of the gelding, he stated that he was not disappointed with it, after being forced wider near the 400 metres he was racing four wide rounding the home turn and got pushed wider rounding it, which he felt put paid to its chances anyway, but felt on the recently resurfaced track it was even more so.

TULHURST TIMMY – Post-race swab sampled.

TESTARUDO – Obtained a run to the inside of IDEAL TAO near the 400 metres when that runner shifted out.

MAJOR MUCHA – Obtained a run to the inside of IDEAL TAO near the 400 metres when that runner shifted out.

MI MATE RON – Placed back in the draw for future mobile start races.

 

RACE 5 – T & D PRODUCE PACE – 1720 metres

 

RIVEERA – Driver B Jones was questioned regarding him dropping his foot from the sulky rest leaving the 200 metres, he stated that he was attempting to release the mare’s deafeners and was having difficulty doing so. B Jones was reminded of his obligation when activating gear with his foot to do so in an upwards direction.

LINE DANCE – Broke gait during the latter part of the score-up, given the gelding’s record, connections were advised it would be placed on its last chance in the draw. Over-raced during the middle stages of the event.

MAYOR OF ELWOOD – Over-raced during the middle stages of the event. Post-race swab sampled.

THOMAS ROYAL – Trainer R Ryan was fined $50 under Rule 210 for not declaring a Driver for the gelding by the required time.

MIGHTY ATOM – Held up for clear running until near the 100 metres.

COURT ON THE EDGE NZ – Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.

TULHURST TERROR – Pre-race swab sampled. Examined by the Club Veterinarian prior to the race, as it has had over 200 race starts, and cleared to start.

 

RACE 6 – SWS BANK PACE – 1720 metres

 

OURMATE GEEJAY – Raced ungenerously near the 1400 metres.

LIZZADRO – Inconvenienced near the 1400 metres as a result of OURMATE GEEJAY racing ungenerously. Checked from the back of TRIOLI near the 400 metres when both runners shifted in simultaneously, and raced roughly as a result.

ROAD TO RECOVERY – Made a three wide move to take over the lead from TRIOLI leaving the 1200 metres. Post-race swab sampled.

GLEMELLY BEACH – Raced three wide from the start before working forward to take up the position outside the leader near the 1400 metres. Tired over the concluding stages and beaten by a considerable margin. A post-race Veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Connections were advised the mare would be required to perform a re-qualifying trial.

KEEP PLAYING – Pre-race swab sampled. Examined by the Club Veterinarian prior to the race, as it has had over 200 race starts, and cleared to start.

FULL OF WISDOM – Inconvenienced near the 1400 metres as a result of OURMATE GEEJAY racing ungenerously.

MAJOR JAMANE – Examined by the Club Veterinarian prior to the race, as it is 12 years old, and was cleared to start. Hung-out near the 600 metres and a short distance later responded to Driver B Micallef attempting to correct the gelding, and as a result shifted in and had to be checked away from the tiring GLEMELLY BEACH.

 

RACE 7 – POPPA’S FUDGE FACTORY PACE – 1720 metres

 

MISS PENDLE HILL – Worked forward to take over the lead from I AM THE TORNADO leaving the 1400 metres.

ALWAYS EXCLUSIF – Post-race swab sampled.

NIFTY AMBITION – Pre-race swab sampled.

 

RACE 8 – HILLTOPS EQUINE CENTRE PACE – 1720 metres

 

JILLIBY MONKEY – Pre-race swab sampled.

SHERMAN – Raced roughly after the start.

RIVERINA FLASH – Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.

BETTOR A GIRL – Forced wider on the track near the 600 metres when ALICE ON THE BEACH shifted out. Tired over the concluding stages of the event. Driver B Jones was given the opportunity to comment on the performance, he stated that the mare was hitting its knee when rounding the turns and did not appear to be comfortable for most of the race. A warning was placed on the mare for its performance.

ALICE ON THE BEACH – Driver M McCaffery was issued with a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(b)(i), for forcing another runner wider on the track prior to the point where permitted to do so, in that near the 600 metres he shifted his runner out, when not sufficiently clear of BETTOR A GIRL which was forced wider on the track. Post-race swab sampled.
