RACE 1 – RARITY WHOLESALE PACE – 1609 metres

SULTAN FELLA – Passed required pre-race veterinary examination.

MACH CHARM – Passed required pre-race veterinary examination.

IRE OF THE DRAGON – Pre-race blood sample was taken.  An inquiry into the tactics adopted throughout the race was commenced, however was unable to be completed due to driver R Vernon refusing to continue following the introduction of preliminary evidence.  Mr Vernon was today advised in writing that he shall not drive or otherwise take part in a race until the resumption and outcome of the inquiry is completed at a date to be fixed.

DREAM TO DANCE – Could not be driven into position at the start and was slow to begin.  Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s racing record.  Post-race swab sample was obtained.

 

RACE 2 – MATES4HARNESS MAIDEN PACE – 2030 metres

OUR LUCILLE – Raced in restricted room approaching and rounding the home turn, then was held up in the early part of the home straight and had to be shifted wider on the track inside the 100 metres to obtain clear running, resulting in the mare racing to the finish without being fully tested.

ANNAS WISH – Shifted out abruptly at the start and galloped away.  Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s racing record.

SWEET TARA – Had to be checked and shifted out at the start when crowded by ANNAS WISH.

FRANCO STYLES – Driver M Harding was cautioned in relation to the manner in which he applied the whip in the home straight. 

TESTO BROMAC – Broke stride free of any external factors shortly after the start and galloped.  Connections were advised that the horse would now be placed outside the mobile barrier draw.  Broke stride free of any external factors passing the 700 metres and galloped.  Connections were advised that prior to racing again TESTO BROMAC must perform tractably in an official qualifying trial.

LITTLE FRENCHIE – Pre-race blood sample was taken.

ECLIPSE LINE – Post-race swab sample was obtained.

 

 

 

 

RACE 3 – SOMERSET MEATS PACE – 1609 metres

LACHIES DELIGHT – Raced in restricted room approaching and rounding the home turn then was held up in the early part of the home straight and after obtaining clear running near the 100 metres raced roughly when placed under pressure.

JUST ROCKNROLL – Post-race swab sample was obtained.

SUMMER ROCKSTAR – Pre-race blood sample was taken. 

HAPPY AS – Passed required pre-race veterinary examinations.

TOP THE ACE – Pre-race blood sample was taken.  Passed required pre-race veterinary examination.

 

RACE 4 – SLICK CHICKS PACE – 1609 metres

SILVER LADY NZ – Post-race swab sample was obtained.

ACAPELLA NZ – Pre-race blood sample was taken.

DEEBO – A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse had sustained a superficial eye ulcer and treatment was administered on course.

KARALTA COURAGE – Held up in the home straight was unable to obtain clear running and went to the finish without being tested.

DAGGY LAMB – When questioned in relation to the performance, driver B Hughes explained that despite racing in a prominent position with cover in the early and middle stages, the gelding did not travel well and when placed under pressure inside the 500 metres was unresponsive and ran to the finish in a disappointing manner.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.

BE GOOD BENNY – Locked wheels with THE MALDIVES approaching the home turn when THE MALDIVES shifted out marginally when being driven forward.  This resulted in BE GOOD BENNY and THE MALDIVES being unbalanced rounding the home turn for a considerable distance in the home straight.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.

THE MALDIVES – Passed required pre-race veterinary examinations.

 

RACE 5 – PFD FOOD SERVICES PACE – 1609 metres

NOWORRIES – Slow to begin.  Raced in restricted room over the concluding stages.

ENABLE ME NZ – Pre-race blood sample was taken.

GLITTER STRIP – Fractious in the early stages of the score up and reluctant to pace.  Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record.  Post-race swab sample was obtained.

 

RACE 6 – PITCHER PARTNERS PACE – 1609 metres

ULTIMATE CRUZA – Pre-race blood sample was taken.  Hung out during the score up, shifted out and made slight contact with MISTER BRILLANTE at the start.  Post-race swab sample was obtained.

MISTER BRILLANTE – Hung in during the score up, sustained slight contact from ULTIMATE CRUZA and was slow to begin.

BLOW UP – Passed required pre-race veterinary examination.

 

RACE 7 – THE TAB APP PACE – 2030 metres

LOVE LOU – Pre-race blood sample was taken.  Had to be checked severely, broke stride and galloped near the 400 metres.  Subsequently C Griffiths the driver of SOHO SINATRA pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 163(1)(a)(iii), stating that approaching the 400 metres he directed SOHO SINATRA outwards, when insufficiently clear of GOOD WORD THAT which had to be steadied and drifted back into the running of LOVE LOU resulting in LOVE LOU being checked.  C Griffiths licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of seven days to commence at midnight on 9 September 2024 and expire on Tuesday, 17 September 2024 on which day he may drive.

OUR PRINCESS KENNEDY NZ – Hampered and had to be shifted wider near the 400 metres when racing behind LOVE LOU and SWEETLY SPOKEN.  Post-race swab sample was obtained.

 

RACE 8 – PSC INSURANCE PACE – 1609 metres

ALWAYS BE CHAPS – Post-race swab sample was obtained.

ABDICATE NZ – Pre-race blood sample was taken.

MAID OF MONEY NZ – Held up approaching and rounding the home turn and unable to obtain clear running until the concluding stages, resulting in the mare racing to the finish without being tested.
