RACE 1 – BUBBA GUMP PEST CONTROL TROTTERS MOBILE – 2300 metres

BURKHARDT NZ – Became unbalanced and broke gait passing the 400 metres. In view of the gelding’s recent record BURKHARDT NZ will be required to perform one requalifying trial.

ALDEBARAN BELLE NZ – Surrendered the lead approaching the 1800 metres to NOTHING I WANT before regaining the lead passing the 1600 metres and again surrendering the lead to FOOTTAPPER passing the 1200 metres.

FOOTTAPPER – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1200 metres. Became unbalanced and broke gait approaching the 550 metres for which a warning was issued.

NOTHING I WANT – Worked forward to the lead approaching the 1800 metres.

SHOULD BEABARCA – Pre-race blood sample.

LAST CLANSMAN – Post-race swab sample.

MELPARK MAGIC – Trainer David Waite was issued a reprimand under Rule 41(1) for failing to have the gelding in the stabling enclosure by the required time. A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse having competed in excess of 200 race starts. Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

RAKERO WARRIOR NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Excluded from the barrier draw at its previous start which was after the fields for today had been finalised and as a result started from the extreme outside of the front line.

WHATSTHEGOSS – Out of position at the start and was continued out of the draw in mobile starts. Became unbalanced and broke gait passing the 1650 metres. In view of the gelding’s recent record WHATSTHEGOSS will be required to perform two requalifying trials and was stood down for a period of 10 days.

 

RACE 2 – D M PLUMBING TROTTERS CAROUSEL HEAT 1 – 2300 metres

RAZZLEME DAZZLEME – Approaching the 300 metres hung in and contacted marker pegs and continued to race erratically for the remainder of the home straight, for which a warning was issued.

MAESTRO – Post-race swab sample.

GOLDEN SUNSET – Pre-race blood sample. Worked forward to the lead passing the 1900 metres.

SPEEDY LOVER – Broke after the start and will be continued to be drawn right outside the draw in mobile starts.

ONE MAJIC KENNY NZ – Out of position at the start and will be continued to be drawn right outside the draw in mobile starts. Driver Blake Fitzpatrick was questioned in relation to the overall performance of the gelding after giving ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 47.8 metres. Mr Fitzpatrick stated he felt the gelding over raced throughout the event and being forced to race in a position outside the leader without cover contributed to the overall performance of the gelding.

 

RACE 3 – HYLAND SPORTSWEAR PACE – 1609 metres

CRUSADER MISS – Pre-race blood sample. Trainer Rickie Alchin was fined $50 under Rule 268A(1) for failing to notify any gear for the filly.  Held up in the early stages of the home straight before being disappointed for a clear run passing the 100 metres.

MAC THUNDER – Driver Colin McDowell was fined $50 under Rule 162(1)(j) for failing to maintain his position behind the starting gate.

FASTING – Caught wide early before working forward to a position outside the leader passing the 1100 metres. Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 4 – SOLD @ APG SALES TROTTERS CAROUSEL HEAT 2 – 2300 metres

VALLEY STAR NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

PHARISEE – Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 63.9 metres.

KYVALLEY MICHAEL NZ – Broke after the start for which a warning was issued.

ROGUE GENTLEMAN – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1400 metres. Had a tendency to over race throughout the event. Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 5 – DAHUA COMMUNITY LADYSHIP PACE – 1609 metres

SWEET HAYLEY JANE – Trainer Rickie Alchin was fined $50 under Rule 210 for failing to advise himself as the Driver of the filly by the prescribed time.

ARENA QUEEN – Pre-race blood sample.

MY CRACKLING ROSIE – Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 6 – FARMER JOES OUTLET PACE – 1609 metres

WATCH ME REACT – Post-race swab sample.

POLKA DOT DANCE NZ – Had its sulky contacted by SUNSHINE KARAMEA passing the 600 metres.

ULTIMATE AD - A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse having competed in excess of 200 race starts. Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Pre-race blood sample. Caught wide early before working forward to a position outside the leader approaching the 1100 metres.

PEPPI GRATZ – Caught wide early before being restrained in the early stages to a rearward position passing the 1100 metres.

SUNSHINE KARAMEA – Driver Lucas Bucca was issued a reprimand under Rule 168(1)(a) for careless driving in that passing the 600 metres when attempting to ease from behind POLKA DOT DANCE NZ he has contacted the sulky of that runner causing SUNSHINE KARAMEA to pace roughly. Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 61.3 metres for which a warning was issued. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

 

RACE 7 – MULTIQUIP AGGREGATES PACE – 1609 metres

WOODLEA BEAVER NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Commenced to give ground from the 600 metres before being beaten 26.3 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.

OUR CHIQUITITA –  Worked forward to the lead passing the 1200 metres and approaching the 1200 metres when working to the front shied at the mobile on the outside of the track. Shifted out under pressure for which a warning was issued. Post-race swab sample.

NITRO DANNY – Checked from the 600 metres behind WOODLEA BEAVER NZ when that runner was giving ground until entry to the home straight at which point was held up for clear running and not fully tested.

SPECIALIZE LOU – Caught wide early before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1200 metres.

 

RACE 8 – NATIONALTROTGUIDE.COM.AU PACE – 1609 metres

MY ULTIMATE COBBER – Trainer Chris Judd was issued a $50 fine under Rule 210 for failing to notify Angus Garrard as the driver by the prescribed time.

FREDEE TEE – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1100 metres. Post-race swab sample.

DOUBLE FEAR – Pre-race blood sample. Caught wide early before working forward to a position outside the leader passing the 1100 metres.

 

RACE 9 – WARDS ACCOUNTING GROUP PACE – 1609 metres

OUR UNCLE JIM – Held up for clear running in the home straight and was not fully tested.

HY VOLTAGE – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1200 metres.

MAJOR MAJOR – Post-race swab sample.

SURFERS DELIGHT NZ – Pre-race blood sample.
