RACE 1 – SKY RACING ACTIVE 2YO PACE – 1740 metres

YEAH NAH – Slow out.

LOTUSBIRD – ($3.30) Trainer/driver Jackson Painting was queried into the overall performance of the filly which finished in 6th position beaten 17.1m after leading. Mr Painting advised LOTUSBIRD travelled well throughout until hanging in slightly approaching the 300m and when corrected failed to race in a genuine manner thereafter. Mr Painting added he would now look too restrict and race the filly on the smaller racing circuits in the district going forward.

CAPTAIN DEEJAY – Underwent pre-race veterinary examination which failed to reveal any abnormalities and was passed fit to start.

ANYWHEREIGOHUGO – Pre-race swab & Post-race swab.

JUST LIKA DREAM – ($12.00) Driver Roger Strong was queried into the overall performance of the filly which finished in 7th & last position beaten 39m. Mr Strong reported the filly was left flat footed when the speed of the event increased dramatically from the 600m with the final half recorded in 56.6 seconds.

RACE 2 – CATTLEWASH @ YIRRIBEE PACING STUD PACE – 1740 metres

DOUBLE LOU – Pre-race swab & Post-race swab.

RACE 3– TASCO PETROLEUM PACE –1740 metres

ROCK THE NATION NZ – Pre-race swab & Post-race swab.

SCOTTIE MACH – Raced fiercely from approaching the 1300m onwards despite the driver’s efforts.

HILLY – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding having started in excess of 200 starts. Neither examination revealed any significant abnormalities. Raced fiercely during the early stages of the event despite the driver’s efforts. Inconvenienced & locked wheel passing the 1400m when HES A TERROR hung inwards.

HES A TERROR – ($12.00) Driver Trevor White was found guilty of a charge under AHR Rule 149(2) which reads: A person shall not drive in a manner which in the opinion of the stewards is unacceptable the particulars of the charge being after HES A TERROR had raced four (4) & three (3) wide from the start and  hang inwards and locked wheels with HILLY  passing the 1400m & losing all momentum. Mr White drove HES A TERROR forward with vigour applying the whip when it was noticeable that SCOTTIE MACH which was position outside the leader and was racing extremely fiercely that the position would not be available & placed undue pressure upon HES A TERROR & to the leaders (ROCK THE NATION NZ & SCOTTIE MACH)  which contributed to the second quarter being recorded in 28.9 seconds and without allowing HES A TERROR any respite and remaining three (3) wide prior to the gelding being placed under pressure from the 600m and giving ground to finish in 7th position beaten 17.5m which in the opinion of stewards was unacceptable. In determining penalty Stewards were mindful of the relevant considerations as outlined within the ‘HRNSW Penalty Guidelines’, the degree of culpability which was assessed in the mid-range, Mr White’s clear prior record under this rule which expanded over 40 years of driving & over 4600 career drives. Stewards accordingly imposed a three (3) week suspension of his license to drive in races which was ordered to commence at midnight on 22nd September 2024. A post-race veterinary examination of HES A TERROR failed to reveal any abnormalities.

RACE 4– WALSH & BLAIR PACE –1740 metres

General: The start of this event was delayed two (2) minutes due to Race 4 at Bordertown Thoroughbreds being behind scheduled.

BE GOOD MIKI – Post-race swab.

JUSTCALLIMREX – Pre-race swab.

HARVEY HUGHES NZ – Held up and failed to gain clear running for the entire length of the home straight.

SHOULDBETWOBYTWO – Hung inwards under pressure over the final 150m. A warning was issued against the racing manners of SHOULDBETWOBYTWO.

RACE 5 – WOODLANDS STUD PACE – 1740 metres

THALASSOPHOBIA – Post-race swab.

LA CAVALLETTA – ($1.35 Fav) Pre-race swab. Driver Nathan Jack was queried into the overall performance of the gelding which finished in 4th position beaten 7m after leading. Mr Jack advised he was satisfied with the performance as LA CAVALLETTA was second up from a spell & was not suited to leading when racing inconsistent throughout the event and it would be the stables intentions to drive the gelding more conservatively going forward.

RACE 6 – BOOTS CIVIL PACE – 1740 metre

MY ULTIMATE FLYNN NZ – ($1.15 Fav) Trainer/driver Jackson Painting was queried into the overall performance of the gelding which finished in 5th position beaten 12.2m after leading from the 1300m. Mr Painting advised MY ULTIMATE FLYNN NZ travelled well throughout until approaching the 300m when he activated the removable deafeners where the gelding failed to race in a genuine manner and provided to be disappointing. Mr Painting advised he would now race MY ULTIMATE FLYNN NZ without any deafeners going forward. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

RAGING ON NZ – Pre-race swab.

CAPTAIN OF SPEED – Post-race swab.

RACE 7 – FATHER NUNO @ WINGATE FARM PACE – 1740 metre

CENTOFELLIE – Pre-race swab. Gave ground from the 600m to finish in 8th & last position beaten 40.2m. Driver Brett Hogan reported the filly to be in season & provided to be disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination failed to revel any abnormalities.

MY COURTELL – Inconvenienced passing the 200m when ALTA WILLIAM shifted inwards after its drivers whip became entangled with driver Brad Hewitt (SURPRISE LANDING) whip.

ALTA WILLIAM – ($3.00 Fav) Driver Blake Jones was queried into the overall performance of the gelding & if he gave consideration to surrender the lead when challenged by SURPRISE LANDING passing the 1000m prior to finishing in 7th position beaten 13m. Mr Jones advised he did give consideration to surrendering the lead as he was aware he had to make more use of the gelding during the early stages of the event to maintain the lead however felt when challenged by SURPRISE LANDING it was not a suitable runner to follow as he considered it more a sit sprint runner and it had been exerted to the point it would not avail him a run to the sprint lane when it would come into operation if he was to surrender and therefore elected to maintain the lead. Mr Jones attributed the performance to a combination of the pressure applied during the early & middle stages of the event and felt in hindsight ALTA WILLIAM may be better severed driven more conservatively in similar circumstances. Driver Blake Jones whip became entangled with driver Brad Hewitt (SURPRISE LANDING) whip passing the 200m which Mr Jones lost his whip.

SURPRISE LANDING – Driver Brad Hewitt whip became entangled with driver Blake Jones (ALTA WILLIAM) whip passing the 200m.

DAY TWO – ($3.20) Driver Nathan Jack was queried into the tactics adopted on the gelding from the 300m onwards and if he gave consideration to direct the gelding wider on the track prior to electing for runs closer to the marker line resulting in the gelding being momentarily held up in the home straight prior to obtaining clear running over the latter stages of the event. Mr Jack advised DAY TWO was under pressure from the 650m & was driven along with significant vigour from that point to maintain its position and felt it would detrimental to his chances to direct the gelding wider as DAY TWO was unable to improve its position and felt he would be able to obtain a run if available between runner in the home straight. After viewing the replays which confirmed the comments of Mr Jack stewards took the matter no further.

KEAYANG DOMINO – Post-race swab.

RACE 8 – GENESIS CATERING PACE – 1740 metre

THE TEXAS RANGER – ($3.40) Trainer/driver Brad Hewitt was queried into the overall performance of the gelding which finished in 8th & last position beaten 13.5m after racing outside the leader throughout. Mr Hewitt advised THE TEXAS RANGER was not suited racing without cover throughout the event and best driven when able to obtain cover in its races.

JILLIBY FABIO – Post-race swab.

NOBLE TRICK – Pre-race swab.

NOTSOKOOL – Held up and failed to gain clear running for the entire length of the home straight.
