RACE 1 – AINSWORTH – AGTSLOTS.COM LADYSHIP PACE – 1609 metres

MINI MINE YET NZ – Became unbalanced and galloped during the score up and was out of position at the start for which a warning was issued.

LIBBY LOU – Unable to secure clear running in the home straight on the final occasion and was not fully tested.

AUREUS – Unable to secure clear running in the home straight on the final occasion and was not fully tested.

SWEET COCO NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Became unbalanced and galloped during the early stages of the score up for which the mare will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw. Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1200 metres.

HEAVENLY CHARM – Became unbalanced and galloped during the early stages of the score up for which a warning was issued. Post-race swab sample.

SHEZ THE REASON – Caught racing 3 wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain a position in the running line passing the 1200 metres.

 

RACE 2 – BESTINBEDS.COM.AU PACE – 2300 metres

OURMATEMENKO NZ – Unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight. Post-race swab sample.

ZAMBIA NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Over raced throughout the event. Gave ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 34 metres and finished in last position.

REGAZZO DE TILLY – Pre-race blood sample.

OUTSIDE FIGHTER – Stewards questioned Driver J Callaghan in relation to the performance of the gelding when failing to run on over the concluding stages to be beaten 24.1 metres and finished in 9th position. Driver J Callaghan explained he was disappointed in the overall performance of the gelding however had noted the gelding had risen through the grades rather quickly and added the gelding was not suited by the way the race was run.

 

RACE 3 – CLUB MENANGLE SUTTON MCMILLAN FFA – 2300 metres

CLASSIE WASHINGTON NZ – Obtained an inside run in the home straight to the inside of CURLY JAMES when that runner shifted out under pressure upon entry to the home straight. Post-race swab sample.

CYA ART NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

L L COOL J NZ – Stewards questioned Driver D Binskin in relation to the seemingly disappointing performance of the gelding when being beaten 51.4 metres and finished in last position. Mr Binskin explained the gelding had missed a trial leading into tonight’s event and felt the gelding would take benefit from the run.

LINE UP NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

CURLY JAMES – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the lead leaving the 1800 metres. Stewards questioned Driver J Callaghan in relation to the performance of the gelding when failing to run on over the concluding stages to be beaten 15.8 metres and finished in 9th position. Mr Callaghan explained after obtaining the lead during a fast lead time the gelding failed to receive respite during the early stages of the event when MAX DELIGHT improved towards it outside and as a result was required to run the event during the early stages quicker than he would have liked. Mr Callaghan further added the gelding was impressive in his opinion when only beaten a short distance the previous week and felt the gelding may not have backed up as well this week. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

MAX DELIGHT – Caught racing three wide in the early and middle stages until working forward to obtain the position the leader leaving the 1600 metres.

 

RACE 4 – CONGRATULATIONS DON HUGO WARATAH SERIES FINAL – 1609 metres

BACKWARDS FIRST – Shifted out under pressure in the home straight on the final occasion for which a warning was issued.

RETURN SERVE – Pre-race blood sample.

BAT MATSON – Hampered during the early stages of the score up when JAMBEROO ARK was fractious and hung up the track causing that runner to be checked for a short period.

JAMBEROO ARK – Fractious during the early stages of the score up and checked the running of BAT MATSON during the early stages of the score up and continued to hang out after the start for which a warning was issued.

RIVEERA – Pre-race blood sample. Became unbalanced and galloped leaving the 350 metres for which a warning was issued. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

SAINT KARAMARA – Hampered leaving the 350 metres when avoiding the galloping RIVEERA.

MISTER MANAGER – Post-race swab sample.

CATCHINGCONFIDENCE – Unable to secure clear running in the latter stages of the home straight and was not fully tested.

 

RACE 5 – ULTRA AIR CAROUSEL HEAT 1 – 2300 metres

JUSTA DRAGON – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until being restrained to the tail of the field passing the 1900 metres.

RYANS GANGSTER – Post-race swab sample.

SKITTLE BOMB NZ – Became unbalanced during the early stages of the score up for which a warning was issued.

AMERICAN HAMMER NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

WINONA WRITER – Pre-race blood sample.

ULTIMATE BIRD NZ – Raced three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the lead passing the 1850 metres.

 

RACE 6 – PRYDE’S RACING CUBE CAROUSEL HEAT 2 – 2300 metres

DONTLETFEARSTOPYA NZ – Unable to secure clear running in the home straight on the final occasion and was not fully tested.

DOM TORETTO NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Trainer J Grimson was fined $50 under rule 268A(1) for failing to lodge a gear form for the gelding. Obtained a run to the inside of EMMAS BOY NZ upon entry to the home straight when that runner shifted ground. Post-race swab sample.

SUNDAY MORNINGS – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until obtaining the position outside the leader passing the 2000 metres.

OUR SUNSET DELIGHT – Pre-race blood sample.

THE REAL MCCOY NZ – Over raced throughout the event.

THE VICAR OF DIBLEY NZ – Improved three wide from the 1600 metres until obtaining the position outside the leader passing the 1400 metres.

EMMAS BOY NZ – Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1800 metres. Shifted ground on entry to the home straight on the final occasion when under pressure.

WAVETHEBILL NZ – Over raced throughout the event.

 

RACE 7 – SUCCESS STUD FOR SPELLING YOUR HORSES CAROUSEL HEAT 3 – 2300 metres

JUNIOR WARFARE – Pre-race blood sample. Failed to run on over the final 600 metres to be beaten 90.6 metres and finished in 8th position. Driver J Gallagher could offer no explanation into the gelding’s disappointing performance other than noting the gelding was racing up in grade. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to be lame in the off side fore and in view of the performance and the veterinary findings, JUNIOR WARFARE was stood down until it completes one requalifying trial and until a veterinary certificate of fitness is submitted.

THE EX HORSEIST – Checked behind the weakening JUNIOR WARFARE leaving the 600 metres.

RAKAJED NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Failed to run on over the final 600 metres to be beaten 92.4 metres and finished in last position. Driver B Portelli explained the gelding was disappointing and when weakening rounding the final turn the gelding hung in significantly and as a result proved difficult to drive out over the concluding stages. In view of the geldings, disappointing performance RAKAJED NZ was stood down until it completes one requalifying trial. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

IDEAL MARQUESS – Hampered leaving the 600 metres behind the weakening RAKAJED NZ.

VINKE B NZ – Hampered leaving the 600 metres when being caught behind the weakening RAKAJED NZ.

DUKE OF SCOTLAND NZ – Declared a late scratching at 1.07pm acting on veterinary advice.

DONEGAL LUTHER NZ – Hampered leaving the 600 metres when being caught behind the weakening RAKAJED NZ.

 

RACE 8 – LATHER UP – AT WOODLANDS STUD IN 2024 CAROUSEL HEAT 4 – 2300 metres

HUTA NZ – Unable to secure clear running in the home straight on the final occasion and was not fully tested.

LITTLE DEMON – Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 2000 metres.

MICK DANGER – Pre-race blood sample. Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1450 metres. Post-race swab sample.

CAULONIA COURAGE – Pre-race blood sample.

 

RACE 9 – CORDINA CHICKEN FARMS PACE – 2300 metres

RAKADAN NZ – Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1950 metres before surrendering the lead to HY VOLTAGE passing the 1500 metres. The gelding then worked forward to obtain the lead on a second occasion passing the 1300 metres. Over raced throughout the event.

BLACK ONYX - Pre-race blood sample.

HY VOLTAGE – Over raced throughout the event. Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1500 metres.

DOUBLE ACT – Became unbalanced during the score up and was out of position at the start for which a warning was issued. Unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
