RACE 1 – BREED YOUR MARE @ SUCCESS STUD PACE – 1730 metres

IDEAL DENNY – Driver T Bullock momentarily lowered his right foot from the sulky rest when driving his runner out over the final 100 metres.

CARBAGANOOSH – Leaving the 1400 metres was tightened and contacted marker pegs when OLIVEIRA shifted down the track.

PRINCE LOUIE – After racing outside the leader tired over the concluding stages to finish in 8th position beaten 15.8 metres. Driver L Green was not disappointed in the overall performance as the gelding raced three wide in a fast first quarter and when unable to obtain the lead was obliged to race outside the leader which proved detrimental to the gelding’s overall performance.

COMPREHEND – Had a tendency to hang out under pressure in the home straight on the final occasion. Post-race swab sample,

VAMOS – had a tendency to over race throughout the event.

IDEAL TIMING – Pre-race blood sample. Stewards queried Trainer/Driver M Rue on the overall performance of the gelding which failed to run on over the concluding stages to finish in 6th position beaten 8.4 metres. He stated although racing in the one out one back position the gelding was over racing and when placed under pressure over the final 300 metres failed to respond. He further added the gelding has been unable to have consistent racing due to no suitable races and as a result would improve with the run.

 

RACE 2 – BCIT SOLUTIONS PACE – 1730 metres

PEPPERMINT – Approaching the 300 metres was checked when improving onto the back of CELEBRITY CRUISE which had also been checked when MAJOR ARK broke stride.

CELEBRITY CRUISE – Leaving the 350 metres was checked when trailing MAJOR ARK which broke stride.

MUDSLINGER MONTY NZ – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted as the gelding had not raced since 19 February 2023. No abnormalities were detected on either examination. Broke stride shortly after the stride was effected. The gelding will be placed outside the mobile barrier draw in future starts.

MAJOR ARK – Passing the 1400 metres had a tendency to race roughly. Approaching the 350 metres became unbalanced and broke stride. The filly will be placed on its last chance to race truly.

TEDDYS IDEAL - A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted as the gelding had not raced since 24 February 2023. No abnormalities were detected on either examination.

MIA ON - A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted as the mare had not raced since 23 November 2022. No abnormalities were detected on either examination.

SHEZA A PUNTER – Pre-race blood sample. Utilised the spring lane when it became available in the home straight on the final occasion. Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 3 – NSW BREEDERS CHALLENGE 2YO FILLIES HEAT – ROUND 1 – 1730 metres

OUR DANCE MONKEY – Post-race swab sample.

TRECHEROUS BELLE – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 4 – NSW BREEDERS CHALLENGE 2YO COLTS AND GELDINGS HEAT – ROUND 1 – 1730 metres

STAY FOOLISH – Pre-race blood sample.

SWEET ON LEXY – Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 5 – NSW BREEDERS CHALLENGE 2YO COLTS AND GELDINGS HEAT – ROUND 1 – 1730 metres

ZERON – Trainer/Driver A Turnbull was queried on the overall performance of the gelding once finding the lead failed to run on over the final 300 metres to finish in 5th position beaten 15.8 metres. A Turnbull stated that although comfortably in the lead had a tendency to hang in and lose momentum when JUNGLE DRAGON improved to the lead at the 250 metres. The gelding was disappointing over the concluding stages.

RACE 6 – NSW BREEDERS CHALLENGE 2YO FILLIES HEAT – ROUND 1 – 1730 metres

THE SWIFT ONE – Post-race swab sample.

DEAR DARLING – Utilised the sprint lane when it became available in the home straight on the final occasion.

SUGAR RUSH – Pre-race blood sample.

KENZIE SHANNON – The score up was aborted as a result of KENZIE SHANNON being fractious in the score up. Driver T Bullock was fined $50 under Rule 162(j) for failing to maintain his position behind the mobile barrier prior to the start. Raced roughly shortly after the start. The filly will be given its last chance in the draw.

 

RACE 7 – HYNASH GROUP PACE – 1730 metres

BILL SHANNON – Post-race swab sample.

ALL STAR MAGICIAN – Pre-race blood sample.

 

RACE 8 – TOWN & COUNTRY RURAL SUPPLIES PACE – 1730 metres

EXCESS VITALITY – Unable to obtain clear racing room until utilising the sprint lane in the home straight on the final occasion.

BOTTLE ROCK NZ – Trainer/Driver N Turnbull was queried on the overall performance of the gelding which gave ground over the concluding stages to finish in 10th and last position beaten 34.8 metres. Mr Turnbull stated he was disappointed in the overall performance and intends to keep the gelding to the smaller tracks in easier company.

JOES REDEMPTION – When leading the event had a tendency to over race.

SIX TIMES A LADY NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

LUCKY ZARA – Post-race blood sample.

STORMBOY STAR – Driver O Frisby was fined the sum of $50 under Rule 162(1)(h) for failing to have her horse in position prior to the start.

 

RACE 9 – THE TAB APP PACE – 2260 metres

SONNY WRITER – Leaving the 1800 metres was checked and broke when trailing UNCLE TONY who had also been inconvenienced.

UNCLE TONY - A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted as the gelding had not raced since 8 July 2022. No abnormalities were detected on either examination. Leaving the 1800 metres when surrendering the lead to LAYLA SHANNON commenced to over race and improved onto the back of that runner and raced roughly for a short distance. Tired over the final 600 metres to finish in 10th and last position beaten 99.1 metres. Trainer/Driver A Frisby stated the gelding over raced once obtaining cover and believed he may have choked down. UNCLE TONY will be required to requalify on one occasion prior to racing.
