GENERAL
The photo finish failed to operate for Races 1 and 2 and as a consequence these races were judged manually and the placings confirmed via the video replays prior to All Clear.
Further issues were encountered which prevented the individual results for some races being able to be disseminated immediately.
RACE 1 – CENTRAL WEST GRANITE SUPPLIES PACE – 1700 metres
ROCKNROLL RAMBO – Driver Nathan Townsend was found guilty of a charge under Rule 156(2)(a) in that inside the final 300 metres he used the whip with more than a wrist only flicking motion which engaged his shoulder. Stewards accordingly imposed a fine of $200 noting Mr Townsend’s recent clear record.
RUNLOCKYRUN – Pre-race blood sample.
PHANTOM STAR – Post-race swab sample.
CELEBRITY CRUISE – Trainer Jake Davis was fined $50 under Rule 210 for failing to declare himself as the driver of the filly by the prescribed time. Hung out and made contact with the sulky of MY ULTIMATE BRUNO passing the 200 metres resulting in CELEBRITY CRUISE breaking gait. A warning was placed on the record of CELEBRITY CRUISE.
RACE 2 – HEAD ON INN HAIRDRESSING PACE – 2100 metres
ROGERVALERIO LOMBO – Hung out passing the 1800 metres and again shortly after straightening resulting in ROGERVALERIO LOMBO making contact with the sulky of DEEBO and ROGERVALERIO LOMBO pacing roughly momentarily. In view of the gelding’s recent record, ROGERVALERIO LOMBO will now be placed on its last chance to race truly.
HARLEY JAMES – Underwent pre and post-race veterinary examinations due to the gelding attaining the age of 12 years. These examinations did not reveal any significant findings.
LOGAN DREAM – Out of position at the start as a result of the mare hanging out during the middle and later stages of the score up. LOGAN DREAM will now be placed on its last chance in the draw. Shifted out when inconvenienced at the 1800 metres as a result of the pace easing.
MEGS MONARO – Post-race swab sample.
GEOFFREY BEE – Pre-race blood sample. Inconvenienced approaching the 1800 metres as a result of the pace easing.
POSH FELLA NZ – Paced roughly shortly after the start and a warning was issued. Inconvenienced passing the 1800 metres as a result of the pace easing.
RACE 3 – THE FAT PARCEL FOOD VAN CANOLA CUP HEAT 1 – 2100 metres

EYES FOR DOLLARS – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 70 metres. A post-race veterinary examination of EYES FOR DOLLARS failed to reveal any significant findings. A warning will be placed on the record of the gelding.
SHEZ A PUNTER – Driver Amanda Turnbull was questioned in regards to the performance of the filly which finished in 7th placing beaten 38 metres ($6.50). Ms Turnbull explained SHEZ A PUNTER over raced during the middle stages which she felt contributed to the filly failing to finish the race off as competitively as expected and advised she had recommended gear changes to connections.
RACE 4 – HRNSW GUARANTEED LADYSHIP PACE – 1700 metres
YARRAMAN KAYLOU – Pre-race blood sample. Broke passing the 900 metres resulting in MILLIONDOLLAR KISS which was following being checked. A warning was placed on the record of YARRAMAN KAYLOU. Trainer/Driver James Sutton subsequently reported the filly had cast a hind shoe.

FLIPTOP BOTTLESHOP – Driver Jett Turnbull was questioned regarding the tactics adopted on the gelding. Mr Turnbull advised he was instructed to allow the gelding to progress forward should the speed slow in the middle stages as FLIPTOP BOTTLESHOP has previously performed best when able to obtain a forward position. Mr Turnbull added the speed of the event slowed at the 1200 metres at which point he commenced to improve 3 wide and added approaching the 800 metres he had been able to obtain a half-length advantage on WARRAWEE CRUZIN, which was occupying the position outside the leader, and felt that should he persist for a short distance he would be able to obtain that position. Mr Turnbull added that shortly after it became apparent he would not be able to obtain the desired position and he desisted with applying pressure to those runners to his inside. Mr Turnbull further added he was mindful that FLIPTOP BOTTLESHOP was dropping in class significantly in comparison to his most recent starts. A post-race veterinary examination of FLIPTOP BOTTLESHOP failed to reveal any significant findings other than the gelding having slight nasal discharge present. Upon consideration of the tactics adopted, Stewards were satisfied they were not entirely unreasonable under the circumstances noting the speed of the event had slowed prior to Mr Turnbull commencing to improve 3 wide and accordingly took the matter no further. Mr Turnbull was further issued a reprimand under Rule 170(1)(a) for dropping his feet from the footrests over the final 50 metres when trailing the field.
RACE 7 – SCOPE CLOTHING GRENFELL/EUGOWRA CANOLA CUP HEAT 3 – 2100 metres
The all clear of this event was delayed to allow Stewards the opportunity to review the available replays in relation to MAJOR ARK breaking gait prior to the start being effected to ascertain whether FAY IRENE, which was drawn directly behind, was afforded a fair start. Upon review of the available replays and taking evidence from Matt Rue, driver of FAY IRENE, Stewards were satisfied that whilst FAY IRENE was inconvenienced as a result of this incident the overall chances of FAYE IRENE were not materially affected and the all clear was subsequently given.
ROLL TO THE TOP – Held up rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight.
MAJOR ARK – Broke during the score up on the first occasion resulting in a false start being declared. MAJOR ARK broke at the second attempt resulting in FAY IRENE being inconvenienced after the start. MAJOR ARK will now be placed outside the draw in future mobile start events. Broke clear of interference passing the 1300 metres and as a result will now be required to trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to racing again.
PYEKAKARIKI – Pre-race blood sample. Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 58 metres.
IRISH SPEED – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 52 metres.
ROCKNROLL RAIDER – Post-race swab sample.
FAY IRENE – Inconvenienced when MAJOR ARK broke gait prior to the start. Stewards will inquire into the reasons for FAY IRENE appearing to race four wide prior to the 600 metres as MOHAWK PARK commenced to improve three wide.
RACE 8 – 11:11 LISA SHAMBROOK COSMETIC TATTOOIST PACE – 1700 metres
CALA GRECA – Broke in the score up and took no further competitive part in the event. In view of the geldings recent record CALA GRECA will be placed outside the draw in future mobile start events.

ULAANBAATAR – Driver Harrison Ross was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that shortly after passing the 1600 metres he permitted the mare to shift in momentarily tightening BETTING RANGER. Post-race swab sample.
SATELLITE SIMBA – Held up rounding the hoe turn and in the early part of the straight.
TOSSIES SON NZ – Pre-race blood sample.
RACE 9 – THE TAB APP & JACK DANIELS OLD NO.7 PACE – 2100 metres
The start of this event was delayed approximately 30 minutes due to the ambulance officials tending to an on course patron.
MIGHTY JOE – Held up for the final 200 metres.
TAMANISHA TERROR – Held up rounding the home turn and in the early part of the straight.
ROCKET BOY – Driver Jye Coney was questioned regarding the level of vigour applied over the final 150 metres where the gelding finished in 2nd placing beaten a short half head. Mr Coney explained ROCKET BOY resents being hit with the whip and for this reason on the limited occasions when he did apply the whip he attempted to strike the sulky shaft as opposed to the horse itself. He further added that he continued to drive ROCKET BOY out with the reins without applying the whip to the finish and he felt in his view the gelding was doing its best.
JUST ROLLYOUROWN NZ – Pre-race blood sample.
RACING TIME – Post-race swab sample.
