RACE 1 – DOWNLOAD THE TAB APP TODAY PACE – 1609 metres

SPARKLING SUE – Pre-race blood sample.  Post-race swab sample.

DARK SIDE NZ – Passed required pre-race veterinary examination.  Pulled hard during the middle stages.

 

RACE 2 – KIDS DAY AT THE PACEWAY PACE – 1609 metres

SLINGSHOT – Pre-race blood sample.  Post-race swab sample.

HAPPY AS – Passed required pre-race veterinary examination. 

LOOKAT MEE – Suffered a gear malfunction approaching the 700 metres when the near side hopple shortener failed release.  Driver C Shepherdson pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 170(1)(a), stating that for some distance inside the 700 metres he continually drove with his left leg below the sulky rest.  Taking into account all the circumstances including the gear malfunction, C Shepherdson was fined $100.  Weakened over the concluding stages and tailed the field.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare was 3/5 lame in the near hind leg.  Connections were advised that prior to racing again LOOKAT ME must undergo a veterinary examination to determine its fitness and a stand down period of 10 days was applied.

 

RACE 3 – D’LISH ON WHEELS ICE CREAM VAN PACE – 1980 metres

ALTIANO – Driver J Osborn was cautioned in relation to the manner that he applied the whip over the concluding stages.

SHOOBEES SUNSET – Hung in rounding the home turn and contacted marker pegs.

SPOOKY ART – Hung in when placed under pressure in the home straight, shifted in and contacted marker pegs. 

JACKYS MARIA – Post-race swab sample.

FIAMORE – Raced roughly for a short distance passing the 200 metres.

QUEENHIGH FLUSH NZ – Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 4 – TAMWORTH VET HOSPITAL PACE – 1609 metres

SAFE JEWELS – Raced in restricted room rounding the home turn, then was held up for some distance in the early part of the home straight and had to be shifted in approaching the 100 metres to obtain clear running.

REDS GOOD TO GO – Passed required pre-race veterinary examination.  Pre-race blood sample.

DON HESTON – Post-race swab sample.

CAESARS ROCKSTAR – Passed required pre-race veterinary examination.

UNCLE GREGORY – Sustained a flat tyre passing the 500 metres.  Subsequently, T Brown the driver of SPIKEY BOY NZ was reprimanded under AR 168(1)(a), for failing to allow sufficient clearance when shifting from behind UNCLE GREGORY to improve to its outside resulting in its near fore leg striking the outside wheel of the sulky of UNCLE GREGORY.

 

RACE 5 – TAMWORTH CLASSIC FIRE ENGINE CLUB PACE – 1609 metres

KARALTA COURAGE – Post-race swab sample.

MY TWO EVES – Pre-race blood sample. 

TASMANS DELIGHT – Hung out during the score up and was unbalanced in the early stages.

BENJIMAGEE – Hung in during the score up then raced roughly in the early stages. 

 

RACE 6 – GEMSTAR JUMPING CASTLES PACE – 1980 metres

JEFFCOATE – Pre-race blood sample.  When questioned in relation to the performance, driver J Coney explained that she had been instructed to lead in the early stages and drove in accordance with those instructions.  She said that despite being pressured for some distance after the start by SKY DIAMOND NZ she was able to maintain the lead and the gelding travelled relatively well.  She said that when placed under pressure passing the 600 metres JEFFCOATE was unresponsive and despite her efforts weakened considerably in the run to the finish.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding was 2/5 lame with some slight swelling apparent in the near hind fetlock joint.  Trainer Mr S Kilroy said that JEFFCOATE’S preparation would be eased.  Notwithstanding this advice Mr Kilroy was advised that a stand down period of 28 days would be placed on the gelding.

MONTANA NIGHTS – Weakened noticeably inside the 600 metres and tailed the field.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.  Connections were advised that prior to racing again the gelding must perform competitively in an official qualifying trial.

SKY DIAMOND NZ – Post-race swab sample.

ADRENALINE RUSH – M Sullivan the driver of HE SAID SHE SAID pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 163(1)(b)(i), stating that prior to the designated push out marker, he shifted outwards when racing inside ADRENALINE RUSH forcing ADRENALINE RUSH wider on the track and making it cover ground wider than its established line.  Taking into account all the circumstances, including M Sullivan’s exemplary driving record, his licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of seven days, to commence at midnight on 10 October 2024 and expire on 18 October 2024, on which day he may drive.

 

RACE 7 – HRNSW GUARANTEED LADYSHIP PACE – 1609 metres

ZOEMAGIC – Passed required pre-race veterinary examination.

TRIPLE EMM – Post-race swab sample.

PANIC BUY – Raced in restricted room for some distance approaching the home turn behind the weakening SAN SABA and was unable to be driven forward. 

COBLA ROYALE – Pre-race blood sample.  Driver S Ison was cautioned in relation to the manner that he applied the whip in the home straight.

 

RACE 8 – ROBBIE MORTIMER HERE 24TH JANUARY PACE – 1980 metres

VERY NEEDY – Galloped away when the start was affected.  Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record.

BRAVE BONDI – Pre-race blood sample.

CERTAINLYCALLITIN – Post-race swab sample.

HAPPY HAMISH – When questioned in relation to the performance, driver B Hughes explained that despite racing without cover in the early stages the gelding travelled relatively well, however when placed under pressure passing the 700 metres became unresponsive and weakened despite his efforts.  He said that he noticed over the concluding stages that the gelding displayed a slight abnormality in its breathing.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.  Connections were advised that prior to racing again HAPPY HAMISH must perform competitively in an official qualifying trial.

LIMOUSINE CHEEKY – Broke stride free of any external factors rounding the turn after the start.  Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s racing record.  Locked wheels for a short distance passing the 500 metres with BRAVE BONDI.

FOUR FEATHERS – Hampered rounding the turn after the start and had to be shifted in when racing behind LIMOUSINE CHEEKY which galloped.

 

RACE 9 – EVENTBRITE FOR JANUARY CARNIVAL GATE TICKETS PACE – 1980 metres

THOMAS ROYAL – Raced tight on the inside of ROUGE BLING for some distance after the start and when being eased approaching the turn into the home straight on the first occasion became unbalanced.  Subsequently T Brown the driver of ROUGE BLING was reprimanded under AR 163(1)(a)(iii), for shifting in during that section of the race when not sufficiently clear.

SUPERBON – Pre-race blood sample.

FAST TRACKER – Driver J Donovan’s left foot dropped below the sulky rest for a short distance passing the 600 metres when he attempted to activate gear. 

NIGHT TO REMEMBER – Post-race swab sample.

ROCK FISHERMAN – Pulled hard during the middle stages.  Held up and unable to obtain clear running at any stage in the home straight and went to the finish without being tested. 

SOHO SINATRA – When questioned in relation to the performance, driver B Elder explained that when attempting to maintain cover from the second line after the start, the gelding raced fiercely, refused to settle, then pulled very hard during the middle stages. He said that because of this when placed under pressure to improve SOHO SINATRA was unresponsive and ran to the finish in a disappointing manner. Trainer Mr A Missen said that SOHO SINATRA which had only been in his care for a short period had not displayed this behaviour during trackwork and it was now his intention to experiment with gear to rectify its tractability prior to racing again.
