RACE 1 – WESTS DAY AT THE PACEWAY MAIDEN PACE – 1609 metres

JACKYS MARIA – Pre-race blood sample.

A LITTLE DILEMMA – When questioned in relation to the performance, trainer/driver Miss L Osborn said the filly failed to travel at any stage and despite her constant urgings could not improve.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.  Miss Osborn said that A LITTLE DILEMMA would be spelled.  Notwithstanding this advice she was told that prior to racing again A LITTLE DILEMMA must perform competitively in an official trial.

CAPTAIN LOU – Raced ungenerously in the early and middle stages.

ULTIMATE EMPIRE – Post-race swab sample.

SPOOKY ART – Hung out during the score up.

RACE 2 – BANJOS FAMILY RESTAURANT @ WESTS PACE – 1980 metres

MY TWO EVES – M Ison the driver of SAINT KARAMARA, pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 163(1)(b)(i), stating that prior to the designated area she shifted wider on the track, resulting in MY TWO EVES being forced to cover extra ground and thereafter obliged to race wide.  M Ison’s licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of seven days to commence at midnight on 11 October 2024 and expire on 19 October 2024 on which day she may drive.

SEVEN RIPPIN ACES – Post-race swab sample.

MAJOR GENERALJUJON – Passed required pre-race veterinary examination.

KARALTA COURAGE – Driver D Brown was reprimanded (AR170(1)(b) for allowing his foot to drop below the sulky rest passing the 500 metres, when activating gear.

SAINT KARAMARA – Pre-race blood sample.  Fractious in the score up, momentarily took charge of the driver and struck the outside fence.  Subsequently passed a pre-race veterinary examination.  Held up significantly between the 500 metres and the 200 metres and could not be placed under any pressure until after entering the home straight.

HE SAID SHE SAID – Pulled hard during the score up.  When questioned in relation to the tactics adopted, driver K Hepworth said that she had been instructed to obtain cover in the early stages, however the gelding pulled hard after the start and she was unable to restrain to a position where she could race with cover.  She said that because of this she was trapped wide in the early stages and entering the home straight on the first occasion after being continually disadvantaged by the gelding’s over racing, she allowed it to stride forward and obtain a position outside the lead.  She said that after this HE SAID SHE SAID travelled relatively well, however when placed under pressure inside the 400 metres weakened in the main in her opinion, due to its tractability in the early stages.

RACE 3 – STAR MAKER CAFÉ @ WESTS DIGGERS PACE – 1980 metres

TRIPLE EMM – Driver S Rushbrook was cautioned in relation to the manner that she applied whip inside the 400 metres.

LISASPANGLEDSTAR – Pre-race blood sample.  Broke stride free of any external factors passing the 300 metres and galloped.  Connections were advised that a warning would be placed on the mare’s racing record.

QUEENHIGH FLUSH NZ – Had to be checked severely, blundered and thereafter was retired when racing behind GOOTIME HALO passing the 500 metres.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.

KRAFTY CANDY – Post-race swab sample.

GOODTIME HALO – Broke stride free of any external factors approaching the 500 metres and galloped.  Trainer/driver Mr S Ison was advised that prior to racing again GOODTIME HALO must perform tractably in an official qualifying trial.

RACE 4 – ROYAL STANDARD BREWERY @ WESTS PACE – 1980 metres

MARVELLA – Pre-race blood sample.  Post-race swab sample.

FROZEN JEWEL – Held up in the home straight and went to the finish without being tested.

COBLA ROYALE – When questioned in relation to the performance, driver G Panella explained that the mare pulled very hard during the score up and despite obtaining cover in the early stages could not be properly restrained and continued to race fiercely.  She said that she was able to obtain clear running approaching the 400 metres where COBLA ROYALE was placed under pressure, however from that point she gained no response and the mare was disappointing in the run to the finish.  She attributed this to its tendency to race fiercely in the early and middle stages.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.

RACE 5 – MERCURE HOTEL TAMWORTH PACE – 1980 meters

BAT MATSON – Post-race swab sample.

CERTAINLYCALLITIN – Pre-race blood sample.  K Hepworth the driver of BAT MATSON pleaded guilty to a charge under AR 163(1)(a)(iii), stating that inside the 100 metres she allowed BAT MATSON to shift in when insufficiently  clear of CERTAINLYCALLITIN, resulting in CERTAINLYCALLITIN striking the inside sulky wheel of BAT MATSON and racing roughly for a short distance.  K Hepworth’s licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of seven days to commence at midnight 11 October 2024 and expire on 19 October 2024, on which day she may drive.

SKY DIAMOND NZ – When questioned in relation to the performance, trainer/driver Mr T Ison explained that after settling in a rearward position the gelding was unsuited by the slow tempo and for this reason he elected to shift three wide passing the 1400 metres and improve, in an attempt to obtain the position outside the lead.  He said that after persevering for some distance he was unable to achieve this and was obliged to restrain passing the 1000 metres to the rear of the field.  He said at this time SKY DIAMOND NZ travelled well, however when he again shifted wider passing the 500 metres to go forward the gelding became unbalanced, broke stride and galloped.  He said after this when SKY DIAMOND NZ regained its gait it responded well and ran to the finish strongly.  Mr Ison was advised that a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record.

RACE 6 – SCULLY PARK TAMWORTH PACE – 1980 metres

HEY DUDE – Weakened inside the 600 metres and despite the efforts of its driver could not improve.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.  Trainer/driver Mr S Glasby was advised that a warning for poor performance would be placed on the gelding’s racing record.

ARCTIC BEAST – When questioned in relation to the performance, trainer/driver Mr D Brown explained that the gelding was driven forward in the early stages in accordance with its established pattern and travelled relatively well outside the lead without cover in the early stages.  He said that this position was suitable until he received a challenge from the eventual winner BETTOR CHEER NZ passing the 700 metres and when he attempted to improve with that runner he gained no response and ARCTIC BEAST ran to the finish from that point in a disappointing manner.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.  Mr Brown said that the gelding’s recovery would be monitored prior to making any decision on a future racing program.

PURE DRAGON – Pre-race blood sample.

VERY NEEDY – Had to be steadied for a considerable distance inside the 600 metres when racing behind the tiring HEY DUDE.

RACE 7 – TAMWORTH BREWFEST – SATURDAY 23 NOVEMBER PACE – 1609 metres

FOREVER A DANCER NZ – Post-race swab sample.

NIGHT TO REMEMBER – Held up inside the 300 metres and ran to the finish without being tested.
