RACE 1 – RARITY WHOLESALE PACE – 1609 metres

HASLER – Pre-race warm up. Post-race swab sample.

COOINDALAI – Held up in the home straight and was unable to be driven to the finish.

VAN NIEKERK NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Held up for a considerable distance inside the 600 metres and unable to be driven forward until passing the 150 metres.

 

RACE 2 – SKY RACING ACTIVE MAIDEN PACE – 1609 metres

OUR LUCILLE – Held up in the home straight, unable to obtain clear running and went to the finish without being fully tested.

FRANCOS DELIGHT – Trainer/Driver G Panella was fined $50 under Rule 162(1)(h), for failing to drive the filly into position at the start.

MIKI BE FREE – Pre-race blood sample.

MOLLY MACGEE – Raced roughly for a short distance passing the 1400 metres. Connections were advised a warning would be placed on the filly’s racing record.

BETTATHANMOZARELLA – Held up for some distance in the home straight, then had to be shifted out over the concluding stages to be driven forward.

LOUIE DADA – Hung in during the score up and was out of position at the start. Trainer/Driver Mr B Portelli was advised a warning would be placed on the gelding’s racing record. Broke stride free of any external factors passing the 1200 metres and again at the 500 metres. Mr Portelli was further advised that prior to racing again, LOUIE DADA must perform tractably in an official qualifying trial.

DOUBLE SAID – Post-race swab sample.

EYES BEEN PATIENT – Hampered for a short distance at the start when racing behind FRANCOS DELIGHT.

 

RACE 3 – MATES4HARNESS PACE – 1609 metres

VALIANT CHARGER – Pre-race blood sample.

DREAM TO DANCE – Driver J Gallagher was cautioned in relation to the manner he applied the whip inside the 100 metres.

DOUBLE LINES – Trainer/Driver Ms G Panella was cautioned in relation to the manner in which she applied the whip over the concluding stages.

MIDNIGHT IN MEMPHIS NZ – Pre-race blood sample. When questioned in relation to the performance, Trainer/Driver Mr T Ison explained that despite racing in a prominent position in the early stages, the mare was unsuited to racing without cover and when placed under pressure inside the 400 metres was unresponsive and weakened in the run to the finish. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. Mr Ison stated the mare’s recovery would be monitored prior to making a decision on a future racing programme.

NIGHTWATCH STAR – Passed required pre-race veterinary examination. Raced in restricted room rounding the home turn, was held up in the early part of the home straight and had to be shifted out approaching the 100 metres to be driven forward. Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 4 – SLICK CHICKS 2YO FILLIES MAIDEN PACE – 1609 metres

LASTING MEMORY – Pre-race blood sample.

SWEET TARA – Sustained contact and raced roughly for a short distance approaching the 100 metres when racing outside LASTING MEMORY, which shifted out in search of clear running. Subsequently R Alchin, Trainer/Driver of LASTING MEMORY was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for shifting ground when insufficiently clear.

SEEKING PLEASURE – Sustained a flat tyre during the race. Post-race swab sample.

LUCY STYLES – Broke stride free of any external factors shortly after the start and galloped. Connections were advised that prior to racing again, LUCY STYLES must perform tractably in an official qualifying trial.

 

RACE 5 – SOMERSET MEATS 2YO MAIDEN PACE – 1609 metres

ELITE GEORGE – A Garaty, the Driver of CHLOBRO pleaded guilty to a charge under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii), stating that rounding the turn after the start he allowed CHLOBRO to shift in for some distance when insufficiently clear of OAK RIDGE, which was crowded and forced into the running of ELITE GEORGE, resulting in ELITE GEORGE having to be checked, breaking stride and galloping for some distance. A Garaty’s licence to drive in races was suspended for 18 days to commence midnight 14 October 2024 and expire 2 November 2024 on which day he may drive.

KINGSTON RAINBOW – Raced roughly for a short distance passing the 400 metres.

CHLOBRO – Post-race swab sample.

RECKLESS CONVICT – Pre-race blood sample.

WOOPAA – Raced roughly for a short distance passing the 400 metres.

 

RACE 6 – COCA COLA PACE – 1609 metres

CELEBRITY PRINCESS – Checked and shifted out approaching the 200 metres when racing behind TINTENBAR.

LACHIES GAMBLE – Pre-race blood sample. Pulled hard during the early and middle stages. Had to be checked passing the 200 metres when racing behind CELEBRITY PRINCESS and sustained contact to the sulky by WHERESTHEBOY. Hung in when placed under pressure in the early stages of the home straight. Sustained a flat tyre.

TINTENBAR – Weakened noticeably inside the 400 metres and could not improve despite the efforts of its Driver. Trainer/Driver Mr T Ison was advised that the provision of last chance to race truly would be placed on the horse’s racing record.

WHATSLUVGOTTADO – Post-race swab sample.

MIDAS SHANNON – Trainer/Driver Mr J Enks was fined $50 under Rule 162(1)(h), for failing to drive the gelding into position at the start.

WHERESTHEBOY – Contacted the sulky of LACHIES GAMBLE despite the efforts of its driver and had to be checked near the 200 metres.

 

RACE 7 – PFD FOOD SERVICES PACE – 1609 metres

FUNNILY ENOUGH – Pre-race blood sample.

RAZOR SHARP NZ – Slow to begin. Ran onto the back of VAN GOGH approaching the home turn and had to be steadied and shifted in.

SECRET WISH – Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 8 – TOOHEYS PACE – 1609 metres

RIPPIN GOOD FEELIN – Pre-race blood sample.

AMERICAN MANDY – Held up racing in restricted room approaching and rounding the home turn and in the early part of the home straight, then had to be shifted out inside the 100 metres before being able to be driven forward.

ENABLE ME NZ – Pulled hard during the middle stages.

SPORTING ROBYN NZ – Held up for some distance in the early part of the home straight and had to be shifted wider on the track approaching the 100 metres to improve.

GROSESTAR – Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 9 – THE TAB APP PACE – 2030 metres

CHASING THE WIND – Weakened noticeably inside the 400 metres. Driver K Hepworth was cautioned in relation to her continued use of the whip when the gelding was uncompetitive.

NEXT TO ME NZ – Contacted the sulky of CHASING THE WIND and had to be checked approaching the 400 metres when that runner weakened in front.

YESNOMAYBESO – Passed required veterinary examination. Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
