RACE 1 – TAB.COM.AU PACE – 1770 metres
IDEAL ANDY – Pre-race blood sample. Had a tendency to over race throughout the event. Post-race swab sample.
LIT THE WICK – Trainer J Rattray was fined the sum of $50.00 under rule 268A(1) for failing to submit a gear form prior to racing
TAPANGA MISS – Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and was not fully tested.
HIJACK NZ– Entering the first turn became unbalanced and broke stride, then again at the 1400 metres, 1200 metres and 600 metres. Considering the gelding’s racing manners in tonight’s event and its overall record HIJACK NZ will be stood down for a period of 14 days and must perform satisfactorily requalify on two occasions. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
RACE 2 – KR MAINTENANCE PACE – 1770 metres
GENERAL
The start of this event was delayed by some 19 minutes due to a mechanical issued with the mobile barrier vehicle. The race was transferred to Sky 2.
MOVINTOHELLANDBACK – Driver B Micallef was issued a reprimand under Rule 168(1)(a) in that when approaching the 200 metres has shifted his runner wider when insufficiently clear of THE MAYNE MARA and as a result has contacted that runner’s inside sulky wheel and raced roughly for a short distance.
THE MAYNE MARA – Approaching the 200 metres the inside sulky wheel was contacted by MOVINTOHELLANDBACK when that runner was shifting wider.
IM LORD TOMMY – Driver H Ross was queried on the tactics adopted throughout the event in particular over the final 700 metres. Mr Ross stated he was mindful of the gelding being a 2year old racing in open company and starting from a wide barrier elected to restrain in the early stages of the event. He further added when passing the 600 metres he was aware MY FRIEND MOLLY was under pressure and shifted his runner wider, passing the 500 metres IM LORD TOMMY was under pressure until the 300 metres where he was pushed to a four wide position, entering the home straight was shifted even wider by TUFFASOLDBOOTS and when balancing up finished the race off satisfactorily. Mr Ross’s comments were noted.

RACE 3 – LONSDALE AUTO ELECTRICS PACE – 1770 metres
BLACK ART NZ – Trainer C Eldridge was queried on the perceived improved performance of the gelding in tonight’s event. He stated he was surprised with the performance of the gelding in tonight’s event but believed its form was not as bad as it looked considering the circumstances surrounding its last three runs. Post-race swab sample.
SUNNYWITHACHANCE – Driver M Johnson was fined the sum of $200 under Rule 156(2)(a) in that when applying his whip in the home straight on the final occasion he has done so with a free hand on a number of occasions.
NIFTY JOLT – Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as the gelding has had over 200 race starts. No abnormalities were detected on either examination.
RUM DELIGHT NZ - Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as the gelding has had over 200 race starts. No abnormalities were detected on either examination.
ROCKING LOU – Pre-race blood sample.
RACE 4 – LERIDA ESTATE WINERY PACE – 1770 metres
EYEDIDNTLOSEIT – Checked between the 500 metres and 300 metres when trialling A ROCKNROLL STAR NZ who was yielding ground.
A ROCKNROLL STAR NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Tired over the final 500 metres to finish in 9th position beaten 115.3 metres. Driver J Locke advised he felt the gelding to be disappointing in todays event, when leading the event over raced and may have choked down. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities. A ROCKNROLL STAR NZ will be stood down for one requalifying trial.
THE REAL ROCKETMAN NZ – Approaching the 300 metres when racing in restricted racing room had a tendency to hang out locking wheels with JUST ROCKNROLL and broke stride. A warning Was placed on the gelding’s racing manners.
SPORTY BANYULA – Post-race swab sample.
JUST ROCKNROLL – Approaching the 300 metres was checked after locking wheels with THE REAL ROCKETMAN NZ.
SATIN BANYULA – Pre-race blood sample.
PADDY MACH - Underwent a pre and post-race veterinary examination as the gelding has had over 200 race starts. No abnormalities were detected on either examination.
RACE 5 – ACT TYREPOWER BELCONNEN PACE – 1770 metres
BOLZANO NZ – Trainer S Lee was fined the sum of $50.00 under rule 268A(1) for failing to submit a gear form prior to racing
LOUIE THE PUNTER NZ – Underwent a pre veterinary examination as the gelding had not raced since 13 November 2023. No abnormalities were detected on either examination. Pre-race blood sample. Driver H Ross was questioned on the overall performance of the gelding which gave ground over the final 400 metres to finish in 7th position beaten 29.6 metres. He stated the gelding had only been trialling fairly leading into the event, after obtaining an easy run throughout the event he raced keenly. He further added considering the gelding hasn’t started for a considerable amount of time it would improve from the run. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

SNEAK A PEEK NZ – In the home straight on the final occasion had a tendency to hang in and race roughly for a short distance. A warning was issued.
RACE 6 – GLEN MIA SADDLERY (ACT) PACE – 1770 metres
ALWAYS BE BRENDAN – Checked between the 300 metre and 200 metres when trailing WHEN TO FOLDEM who was yielding ground.
BONJORGE – Pre-race blood sample.
WHEN TO FOLDEM – Gave ground over the final 300 metres to finish in 7th position beaten 63.5 metres. Considering the mare’s overall mile rate of 2:01.1 and the distance between the 2nd placegetter no further action was taken.
MY LADY SARAH – Post-race swab sample.
TROUBLE IN HEAVEN – Approaching the 900 metres became unbalanced and broke stride. Considering the distance the filly broke stride until regaining its correct gait, TROUBLE IN HEAVEN was retired from the event. The filly will be required to requalify on one occasion.
RACE 7 – OSKAR MEMORIALS XMAS CUP – 2170 metres
SPIRIT AND SOUL NZ – Post-race swab sample.
FATHER BOB – Pre-race blood sample. Unable to obtain clear running in the run to the finish.
OHANA DANCER – Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and was not fully tested.
RACE 8 – WATTYS RURAL FENCING TROTTERS MOBILE – 1770 metres
TARENTAISE – Post-race swab sample.
THE NIGHT KING – Pre-race blood sample.
SALLY EM – Out of position at the start due to the mare racing roughly in the score up. A warning was issued. Leaving the 300 metres broke gait. A warning was issued.
