RACE 1 – 2NURM CHRISTMAS PACE – 1609 metres

COOINDALAI – Post-race sample was taken.

WALLAROY BOY – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.  Had a tendency to hang out throughout the event and over the concluding stages continued to hang out whilst under pressure.  A warning was issued.

EYES BEEN PATIENT – Pre-race sample was taken.  Galloped away as the start was affected after racing keenly during the score up.  Connections were advised it will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.

 

RACE 2 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 1609 metres

NOWORRIES – Had a tendency to hang in at various stages of the event.

AKUMA – Pre-race sample was taken.  Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.  Post-race sample was taken.

 

RACE 3 – JOHN HUNTER CHILDRENS HOSPITAL KIDS CLUB PACE – 1609 metres

CLOUDIN UP – Hampered approaching the first turn when racing to the inside of OLLIE ONE SHOT which shifted down the track slightly.

OLLIE ONE SHOT – Pre-race sample was taken.  Shortly after the start shifted up the track slightly and in turn MACS TOMADO NZ which was racing to its outside had a tendency to shift down the track.  Shortly thereafter OLLIE ONE SHOT upon reaction shifted down the track and restricted the racing room of CLOUDIN UP which was hampered.  Driver P Tanti pleaded guilty to a charge under rule 156(2)(a) in that when applying the whip over the concluding stages employed an action which engaged the shoulder.

ROGERVALERIO LOMBO – Post-race sample was taken.

DANCING WITH MY EX – Caught wide in the early stages of the event and remained racing three wide for the majority.  When questioned regarding the tactics adopted driver P Green Jnr explained that after being caught wide lacked the necessary speed to move forward in the event and gain a position in the running line however given the racing characteristics of his drive he thought it would have been detrimental to his chances to restrain to the rear of the field as his runner does not contain high point point speed.  Stewards noted his comments.

GLITTER STRIP – Driver B Elder was fined the sum of $50 under rule 162(1)(j) for failing to come up into position prior to the start being affected.

ZOEMAGIC – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.  

 

RACE 4 – WESTON WORKERS CLUB PACE – 1609 metres

NOTMUCHUPTOP – Pre-race sample was taken.  Broke the number two carrying strap during the event.

NIGHTWATCH STAR – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.  Post-race sample was taken.   

LINCOLN HART – Out of position as the start was affected.  Driver G Panella was fined the sum of $50 under 162(1)(j) for failing to come up into position prior to the start being affected.  Broke stride as the field negotiated the final turn.  A warning was issued.

 

RACE 5 – SLICK CHICKS PACE – 1609 metres

CHEDDAR VALLEY NZ – Post-race sample was taken.

ABRIDGED – Driver K Elliott was reprimanded under rule 168(1)(a) in that when approaching the first turn closed down the track and contacted the sulky of CHEDDAR VALLEY NZ and raced roughly for a short distance which in turn hampered the running of HEEZ REASONABLE which raced roughly for a short distance.  had a tendency to over race throughout the early and middle stages of the event.

TOUGH TALKS – Pre-race sample was taken. 

ILLUSTRATION – Out of position as the start was affected.  Driver G Panella fined the sum of $50 under 162(1)(j) for failing to come up into position prior to the start being affected. 

HEEZ REASONABLE – Checked and raced roughly upon entry to the first turn.

 

RACE 6 – SOMERSET MEATS PACE – 1609 metres

CERTAINLYCALLITIN – Post-race sample was taken.

THE WAY SHE IS – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.  

BE MY ROCK – Galloped away as the start was affected.  A warning was issued.

HY FILANTE – Held up for clear running over the concluding stages and not fully tested.

BEERSINMYPOCKET – Pre-race sample was taken.

 

RACE 7 – COCA COLA PACE – 1609 metres

IGNITE THE FIRE – Pre-race sample was taken.  Broke the connecting strap on the near side during the event.

IM A LIBERTY GIRL – Driver G Panella was reprimanded under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that approaching the 100 metres closed down the track and restricted the racing room of OUTLOOK which was hampered. 

JUSTAWARRIOR – Had a tendency to hang in upon entry to the home straight and locked wheels with DOLLARSIGN and as a result was checked.

NIFTY STUDLEIGH – Examined pre and post-race by the veterinarian with no abnormalities reported.  Post-race sample was taken. 

OUTLOOK – Driver R Morris was reprimanded under rule 163(1)(a)(iii) in that shortly after the entrance to the home straight for the run to the finish permitted his runner to shift wider on the track which in turn momentarily shifted the running of DOLLARSIGN wider on the track and as a result locked wheels with JUSTAWARRIOR which also had a tendency to hang in.

LUCKY BEACH BOY – Driver A Ruggari pleaded guilty to a charge under rule 156(2)(a) in that when applying the whip over the concluding stages employed an action which engaged the shoulder.  Driver A Ruggari was fined the sum of $200.

 

RACE 8 – PFD FOOD SERVICES PACE – 1609 metres

CHAPPY STREETNORTH – Weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance.

IM BILLS LAST NZ – Weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance.

PAYTONS ROCK NZ – Had a tendency to hang out as the field raced down the back straight on the final occasion.

ASHARK – Pre-race sample was taken.  Post-race sample was taken.
