RACE 1 – BETTA PARKES PACE – 1660 metres

DEFENCE ATTORNEY – Pre-race blood. 

SNAKESKIN – Broke stride free of interference at the 650 metres. Warning was issued. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the horse to be 4/5 lame in the near side front foot.  Connections were advised that veterinary clearance must be submitted prior to racing or trialling and the horse would also be stood down for a period of 10 days due to oncourse treatment.

AERONAUT NZ – Driver K Bloomfield could give no reasonable explanation for the gelding failing to run on over the final 400 metres to finish in eighth position beaten 59.8 metres.  A warning was placed on the gelding’s racing record.

VAMOS – Post-race swab.

THE ROGUE I AM – Driver S Dowton was questioned on the overall performance of the mare which failed to run on over the concluding stages to finish in seventh position beaten 51.9 metres.  He stated that after being caught three wide in the early stages the mare proved difficult to restrain to the tail of the field due to over racing, when the speed increased in the race over the final 800 metres it failed to respond.  A warning was placed on the mare’s racing record.

BETTOR KEPPEL – Leaving the 650 metres was checked when shifting wider to avoid SNAKESKIN who had broke stride.

KARINYA GILL – Hung out in the latter stages of the score up.  A warning was issued.

 

RACE 2 – TOM YOUNG CONCRETING LADYSHIP PACE – 1660 metres

ERMINNIE QUINCE – Approaching the 1500 metres became unbalanced and broke stride.  Furthermore the mare broke stride again at the 1000 metres.  Connections were advised the mare will be stood down for one requalifying trial prior to racing.

TULHURST JANET – Pre-race blood. 

BARKWAY MARGARET – Driver N Hoy questioned on the mare’s performance where racing in a rearward position for the entire race to finish in sixth position beaten 59.2 metres.  He stated the mare was reluctant to score up in the early stages and then when the race commenced despite his efforts to urge the mare forward, she failed to respond to be very disappointing.  A warning was placed on the mare’s racing record.

XCITE ME NZ – Entering the first turn became unbalanced and broke stride.  A warning was issued.  Due to the distance lost when in the incorrect gait took no further competitive art in the race.

 

RACE 3 – PARKES FARM CENTRE PACE – 1660 metres

CHOC A BLOCK – Post-race swab.

ZOLTON – Pre-race blood.  Driver N Turnbull was queried on the overall performance of the gelding which commenced to give ground from the 400 metres to finish in tenth and last position beaten 54.4 metres.  He stated it was the instructions to drive the gelding in a forward position but racing outside the leader and the fast overall mile rate proved detrimental to the overall performance.  A warning was placed on the geldings race record.

TAKE OUT – Had a tendency to hang out in the latter stages of the score up contacting the barrier arm and breaking stride.  A warning was issued.

 

RACE 4 – RICE PROPERTY & LIVESTOCK PACE – 1660 metres

JOETOMO – Driver M Hewitt was queried on the overall performance on the gelding which commenced to give ground over the final 300 metres to finish in tenth and last position beaten 17.3 metres.  He stated the gelding may not have backed up after a hard run at Wagga 3rd January 2025 and also indicated the gelding may not have handled the tighter track in today’s event.

BETTER SHUSH – Held up for clear racing room in the run to the finish and not fully tested.

DRIVE TO THE BEACH – Post-race swab.

MYRA DAWN – Pre-race blood.

 

RACE 5 – TAB ELVIS CHAMPIONSHIP – 2040 metres

CARBAGANOOSH – Post-race swab.

NIRVANA PRINCE – Tired over the concluding stages to finish in tenth and last position beaten 63.3 metres.  A warning was placed on the gelding’s racing record.

FOUR STAR LINCOLN – Gave ground over the final 400 meters to finish in eighth position beaten 60.5 metres.  A warning was placed on the gelding’s racing record.

ART OF TERROR – Galloped out when the start was affected.  A warning was issued.

GABBYS SPORTSTAR – A pre and post-race veterinary examination were conducted as the gelding has had over 200 race starts.  No abnormalities were detected on either examination. 

ROMERO – Pre-race blood.

ROAD TO RECOVERY – Driver J Coney was questioned on the overall performance of the gelding which failed to run on over the concluding stages to finish in ninth position beaten 63.1 metres.  He stated after racing three wide in the early stages he attempted to work forward to the position outside the lead where the gelding has raced satisfactorily in the past, when unable to do so was obliged to restrain to the tail of the field, when leaving the 900 metres elected to work forward in an attempt to put the gelding into the race but was disappointing over the final 500 metres.  A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.

 

RACE 6 – DWYER CONTRACTING PACE – 2040 metres

WATCH AND WEEP – Trainer/driver M Hutchings was queried on the overall performance of the gelding which gave ground over the final 300 metres to finish in tenth and last position beaten 73.2 metres.  He stated although obtaining cover in the early stages the gelding over raced which was detrimental to his overall performance.  The gelding was given its last chance to race truly.

MILLIONDOLLAR KISS – Pre-race blood.  Over raced and raced fiercely in the middle and latter stages of the event.  A warning was issued.

LENNOX BROMAC NZ – After racing in a rearward position failed to run on over the concluding stages to be beaten 60.6 metres.  A warning was placed on the gelding’s racing record.

SPORTY MICKILLA – Post-race swab.

DEEBO – Broke stride shortly after the start.  A warning was issued.

JOES REDEMPTION – Driver N Turnbull was fined the sum of $400 under rule 156(2)(a) in that when applying his whip in the home straight on the final occasion has done so with more than a wrist only flicking action.

 

RACE 7 – QUICKSHINE CARWASH PACE – 2040 metres

WHATABOUTBRONSON – Pre-race blood. 

NEVERTOOLATE – Post-race swab.

PEPPERMINT – Broke stride in the middle stages of the score up and as a result was out of position at the start.  A warning was issued.  The gelding took no competitive part in the race. 

MI MATE RON – Had the outside sulky wheel contacted by MATTERSON EXPRESS when it was attempting a run to his outside.

MATTERSON EXPRESS – Driver W Cassell pleaded guilty to a charge under rule 168(1)(a) in that when leaving the 200 metres has attempted a run between MI MATE RON and TULHURST ELVIS where there was insufficient room and as a result has raced roughly after contacting the sulky of MI MATE RON.  Considering Mr Cassell’s guilty plea, his record in relation to this rule his licence to drive in races was suspended for a period of 10 days.  This suspension is to commence at midnight on Friday, 17 January 2025.

 

RACE 8 – ELVIS ENTERTAINMENT @ THE LEAGUES CLUB PACE – 1660 metres

REVEILLE JET – Broke stride when negotiating the first turn.  The gelding will be required to requalify on one occasion prior to racing.

MONSTER MINT – Pre-race blood.  Approaching the 200 metres became unbalanced and broke stride.  A warning was issued.

JACKS GAMBLE – Post-race swab.

BOLDELETOS – When negotiating the first turn was checked when shifting wider to avoid REVEILLE JET who had broke stride.

ROCKIN SWEET – When negotiating the first turn was checked when shifting wider to avoid REVEILLE JET who had broke stride.

BELLE OF BELMONT NZ – Fractious when leaving the pre-race circle.  A warning was issued.  When negotiating the first turn was checked and broke when REVEILLE JET who had broke stride and shifted up the track. 

AURORA JENNY – When negotiating the first turn was checked and broke when racing to the outside of REVEILLE JET who had broke stride and shifted up the track.

WARRAWEE JACK – When negotiating the first turn had a tendency to hang in and race roughly.  A warning was issued. Shortly after the gelding was checked and broke as a result of AURORA JENNY being shifted up the track by REVEILLE JET who had broke stride.
