RACE 1 – QUAYLE MILLING PACE – 1720 metres
ART OF TERROR – Pre-race swab sampled. Post-race swab sampled.
MASTER GOUDA – Contacted the sulky wheel of KEILOR BABY SHARK approaching the 200 metres, when shifting-out, Driver T Allamby was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in similar circumstances in future. Held up for clear running until near the 100 metres.
BETTING RANGER – Broke gait during the score-up and was out of position at the start, galloped for a considerable distance and took no competitive part in the race, connections were advised the gelding would be placed on its last chance in the draw.
MAJOR MUCHA – Driver J Locke was given the opportunity to comment on the gelding tiring over the concluding stages, he stated that while he was a little disappointed with it, he felt racing outside the leader in the quick time that was run, was most likely the reason it was unable to finish the race off.
THE TALK – Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.
KEILOR BABY SHARK – Sulky wheel contacted by IDEAL BILLY NZ approaching the 200 metres where it sustained a flat tyre.
RACE 2 – TRIMECH PACE – 1720 metres
LIMBO LILLY – Post-race swab sampled.
KATLAS DREAM – Trainer/Driver M Rue was given the opportunity to comment on the below market expectations performance of the mare, he stated that he was a little disappointed with her run today, but following the race felt she may need a bit of a freshen up after three hard runs in a short space of time prior to tonight’s race.
PADDY MACH – Pre-race swab sampled. Examined by the Club Veterinarian prior to the race, as it is 12 years old and it has had over 200 race starts, and cleared to start.
MAYWYNS LA NINA – Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.
LINE ME UP BRO NZ – Broke gait during the score-up and was out of position at the start, for which a warning was issued. Held up for clear running until near the 100 metres.
GABBYS SPORTSTAR – Examined by the Club Veterinarian prior to the race, as it has had over 200 race starts, and cleared to start.
RACE 3 – YOUNG SERVICES CLUB PACE – 1720 metres
JOES REDEMPTION – Hung-out after the start. Held up for clear running rounding the home turn.
OUR DICKIE BART – Pre-race swab sampled. Post-race swab sampled.
CHASING THE WIND – Held up for clear running until near the 50 metres.
TULHURST WRITER – M Rue was a late replacement as the Driver of the gelding due to A Hurst being unable to attend the meeting.
RACE 4 – RIVERINA STOCKFEEDS LADYSHIP PACE – 2100 metres
FULL OF SPICE – Tightened for room when racing to the inside of PET RANGER entering the first turn, when that runner shifted-in, and contacted marker pegs. Raced roughly near the 1600 metres, for which a warning was issued. Tightened for room near the 400 metres when MIA ON shifted-in. Driver M Hardy was fined the sum of $200 under Rule 156(2)(a) for using his whip with an action that was more than a wrist only flicking motion in the home straight.
I LIKA STYLE – Pre-race swab sampled. Checked and broke gait near the 200 metres when PET RANGER broke gait.
PET RANGER – Examined by the Club Veterinarian prior to the race, as it was having its first race start in over 12 months, and cleared to start. Driver A Bellach was issued with a reprimand under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference in that entering the first turn he shifted the gelding in when not sufficiently clear of FULL OF SPICE which was inconvenienced and contacted marker pegs. Broke gait free of interference near the 200 metres, for which a warning was issued.
TULHURST JANET – Hung-in when rounding the turns throughout the race, connections were advised the mare would be placed on its last chance to race truly. Tightened for room when racing to the inside of FULL OF SPICE near the 400 metres, when that runner was taken in when MIA ON shifted-in.
MIA ON – Shifted in entering the turn near the 400 metres, tightening FULL OF SPICE and TULHURST JANET. Driver E Turnbull was advised to exercise more care to prevent her runner from shifting ground in similar circumstances in future. Post-race swab sampled.
RACE 5 – MCALISTER MOTORS PACE – 1720 metres
GIRL JUST FLY – Driver J Coney was given the opportunity to comment on the below market expectations of the mare, he stated that it travelled okay in the early and middle stages of the event, and he was reasonably confident that she would be competitive at the finish, but when placed under pressure approaching the 400 metres, she did not respond.
BARKWAY MARGARET – Tired over the concluding stages and beaten by a considerable margin. A post-race Veterinary examination did not reveal any abnormalities. Connections were advised the mare would be required to perform a re-qualifying trial.
DUSTY MUSTER – Sulky wheel contacted by RIP JACKSON leaving the 600 metres where it sustained a flat tyre. The tyre became fouled in the wheel placing the gelding at a disadvantage.
LIMBO LENNY – Pre-race swab sampled. Driver P Betts was questioned regarding the seemingly improved performance of the gelding, she stated that it had not raced well at Bathurst previously and she is of the view that it is not suited racing there and is better suited on the smaller tracks like that of tonight’s race. She added that it had trialled well leading into its last start at Dubbo, however did not have any luck in that race. She further added that she was reasonably confident leading into tonight’s race given it’s trial form and from the draw she hoped to be able to settle in a good position with cover in the running line. Post-race swab sampled.
A ROCKNROLL STAR NZ – Out of position at the start, for which a warning was issued.
RIP JACKSON – Contacted the sulky wheel of DUSTY MUSTER leaving the 600 metres, when shifting-out, Driver M Rue was advised to exercise more care when shifting ground in similar circumstances in future. Held up for clear running until leaving the 100 metres.
RACE 6 – DONGES IGA PACE – 1720 metres
General – Due to storm activity, particularly lightning, in the vicinity of the course the start of this race was delayed until it had moved away from the area. Subsequently all races were moved back one timeslot, with the last race re-scheduled to 10.10pm.
YOUNG NELSON – Pre-race swab sampled. Post-race swab sampled.
BEHAPPYBOBBY – Hung-out after the start, and continued to hang-out until breaking gait as a result entering the first turn, given it was only the gelding’s third race start, connections were advised that it would be placed outside the draw for future mobile start races.
ART OF RHYTHM – Driver N Turnbull was fined the sum of $400 and had his license to drive in races suspended for a period of seven days under Rule 156(2)(a) for using his whip in the home straight with an action that was more than a wrist only flicking motion. In assessing penalty Stewards took into account that this was his third whip rule breach within 60 days of the second breach. N Turnbull’s suspension will commence at midnight the 22nd of January.
VALOR MAC – Inconvenienced near the 1400 metres behind THINK CHRISTI when the pace eased.
THINK IT BLING – Hung-in slightly near the 200 metres and was checked to prevent contacting the sulky wheel of THINK CHRISTI.
ITZ BAD – Checked and broke gait near the 200 metres, when THINK IT BLING was checked and shifted-out to prevent contacting the sulky wheel of THINK CHRISTI.
RACE 7 – YOUNG CELLARS PACE – 1720 metres
ALLEGRETTO – Worked forward to take over the lead from WEENEEDDREAMS leaving the 1400 metres. Post-race swab sampled.
BLACK ART NZ – Pre-race swab sampled. Examined by the Club Veterinarian prior to the race, as it is 12 years old, and was cleared to start. Hung-out and broke gait near the 600 metres, for which a warning was issued.
DEAD EYE TIKI – Broke gait during the score-up and was out of position at the start, for which a warning was issued. Checked near the 600 metres when BLACK ART NZ broke gait.
PRINCE PARKER – Broke gait after the start for which a warning was issued. Inconvenienced near the 600 metres when BLACK ART NZ broke gait.
RACE 8 – DOWNLOAD THE TAB APP TODAY PACE – 1720 metres
NIFTY JOLT – Examined by the Club Veterinarian prior to the race, as it has had over 200 race starts, and cleared to start. Hung-out entering the first turn and contacted the sulky wheel of ALICE ON THE BEACH, which was inclined to hang-in, and was checked and raced roughly.
COMPLICATED – Checked and broke gait entering the first turn when NIFTY JOLT raced roughly.
ALICE ON THE BEACH – Inclined to hang-in entering the first turn, as a result NIFTY JOLT which hung-out, contacted its sulky wheel.
LIZZADRO – Pre-race swab sampled. Checked and raced roughly rounding the first turn when COMPLICATED broke gait.
HARLEY JAMES – Examined by the Club Veterinarian prior to the race, as it is 13 years old, and was cleared to start. Post-race swab sampled.
POLKA DOT DANCE NZ – Driver J Locke was reprimanded under Rule 170(1)(a) for dropping his foot from the sulky rest approaching the finish line.
THE REAL ROCKETMAN NZ – Driver G Lee was fined the sum of $200 under Rule 156(2)(a) for using his whip with an action that was more than a wrist only flicking motion in the home straight.
JACKS LAST HOO RAA – Inconvenienced rounding the first turn when COMPLICATED broke gait.
