RACE 1 –ALLAN BILES LIFE MEMBERSHIP PACE – 1720metres
KING BOBBIE – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
SCRUFFY MOTO – Stewards questioned Trainer I. Edmunds in relation to a report received that the gelding was observed to have a lump on its near side neck. After taking evidence from Trainer I. Edmunds the inquiry was adjourned to allow Stewards to obtain the results of post-race samples taken from the horse. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
GABBYS SPORTSTAR – Underwent a veterinary examination due to competing in excess of 200 race starts. No abnormalities were detected on either examination.
IDEAL DENNY – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
DEFENCE ATTORNEY – Hung in during the score up. Hung in and contacted marker pegs at various stages of the event. Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.
BUSHY BEACH NZ – Hung in during the score up.
RACE 2 – ZOO FM PACE – 1720metres
HARLEY JAMES – Underwent a veterinary examination due to competing in excess of 200 race starts. No abnormalities were detected on either examination.
REASON TO PARTY – Pre-race blood sample. Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.
FLIRTS DIVA – Post-race swab sample.
RACE 3 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 1720metres
JOES REDEMPTION – Rounding the first turn was tightened for room by SCRUBBY which shifted in when not quite clear. Driver M. Turnbull was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(b)(i) for forcing another runner wider in that near the 1500 metres shifted from a marker peg position to a running line position resulting in NEVERTOOLATE being forced wider. In not taking more severe action, Stewards took into account that the runners weren’t racing hard on the marker pegs and that ROCKNROLL RAMBO had improved to his inside and furthermore that the pace of the event also reduced at that point. Stewards questioned Driver M. Turnbull in regards to the driving tactics adopted on the gelding. M. Turnbull stated that he anticipated on leading the event however was unable to do so due to being crossed by SCRUBBY rounding the first turn. M. Turnbull added shortly after being cross the tempo of the event slackened and therefore he shifted off the marker pegs and challenged for the lead as he was of the opinion SCRUBBY may surrender the lead. M. Turnbull said that after challenging from the 1400 metres and until near the 1300 metres he was made aware the lead wasn’t available and therefore he restrained and obtained the position behind the leader. M. Turnbull added that the gelding failed to travel comfortably at any stage of the event from the 1300 meters and was disappointed with the overall performance. A post-race veterinary failed to reveal any abnormalities. In view of the performance a warning was issued.
NEVERTOOLATE – Near the 1500 metres momentarily forced wider on the track. Near the 1300 metres inconvenienced when ROCKNROLL RAMBO shifted out.
OUR UNCLE HAROLD – Near the 1500 metres inconvenienced when ROCKNROLL RAMBO shifted off the marker pegs.
SCRUBBY – Driver N. Hurst was reprimanded under Rule 165(1)(b) for shifting down the track when not 1 metre clear of the extended front legs of JOES REDEMPTION which had to be steadied. Stewards questioned Driver N. Hurst in regards to the driving tactics adopted on the horse during the event. N. Hurst stated that the horse has won its only race when being able to lead and at recent starts due to the strength of the race the horse hasn’t been driven aggressively. N. Hurst added that he elected to drive forward at the start and was able to obtain the lead however due to the constant pressure received during the event when placed under pressure the horse failed to respond and therefore was disappointing. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormalities.
ROCKNROLL RAMBO – Post-race swab sample.
TULHURST WRITER – Near the 1500 metres inconvenienced when NEVERTOOLATE was forced wide. Near the 1300 metres was inconvenienced when ROCKNROLL RAMBO shifted wider on the track.
RACE 4 – JAMES SUTTON 2024 LEADING LOCAL TRAINER PACE – 2120metres
PET RANGER – Over-raced during the middle stages of the event and tired from the 600 metres to be beaten 55 metres. Driver A. Bellach reported that in his opinion the gelding had choked down due to over-racing. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding to have a slow recovery. Trainer A. Bellach was advised that the gelding must complete one satisfactory trial and provide a veterinary certificate of fitness prior to racing again.
ORANGE FEVER – Near the 1800 metres became unbalance and galloped. A warning was issued.
LETSTACOBOUTIT – Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.
FUNDA – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
YA RACING ARLO – Post-race swab sample.
YARRAMAN ASH – Will now be re-included in the mobile barrier draw.
FAKE MINT – Hung in at various stages of the event.
RACE 5 – JETT TURNBULL 2024 JUNIOR DRIVER OF THE YEAR PACE – 1720metres
LOOKAT MEE – Pre-race blood sample.
JILLIBY TSUNAMI – Galloped out at the start. A warning was issued.
DANCEBYTHESEASIDE – Post-race swab sample.
RACE 6 – REGIONAL AUSTRALIA BANK PACE – 1720metres
ARTISTIC TROUBLE – Near the 200 metres was tightened for room and raced roughly when PEAKSART shifted in.
PREACHER QUINCE – Stewards questioned Driver S. Dowton in regards to the driving tactics adopted on the gelding over the final 200 metres of the event. S. Dowton stated that the gelding has had tractability issues previously and for that reason he doesn’t normally apply significant pressure to the gelding as per previous starts. S. Dowton added that he released the ear plugs late in the event however in his opinion the gelding was placed under full pressure prior and when released failed to improve any further. Stewards noted the comments.
PEAKSART – Driver M. Bolam was reprimanded under Rule 163(1)(a)(iii) for causing interference in that near the 200 metres he allowed his runner to shift down the track and tightened the racing room of ARTISTIC TROUBLE which raced roughly.
SPEEDY SPORT – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
ERMINNIE QUINCE – Near the 150 metres became unbalanced and galloped. In view of the mare’s record it will be stood down until it can complete 2 satisfactory trials and for a period of 14 days.
RACE 7 – ORANA WOOL & SCRAP METAL PACE – 1720metres
MISSUS GONE – Pre-race blood sample. Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
WHISPERING KEV – Near the 250 metres hung in and contacted the sulky of ABSOLUE WEAPON when that runner was taken outward slightly by PIPPA CHEER and was checked and broke.
CELEBRITY CRUISE – Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.
DOMUS ANGELI – Held up for clear running for the majority of the home straight.
ABSOLUTE WEAPON – Near the 250 metres taken up the track slightly by PIPPA CHEER and as a result WHISPERING KEV contacted its sulky. Post-race swab sample.
RACE 8 – DOWNLOAD THE TAB APP TODAY PACE – 1720metres
EXCUSE TO COLLECT – Hung out after the start. Over-raced during the middle stages of the event. Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
ROCKIN SWEET – Inconvenienced after the start when EXCUSE TO CULLECT hung out.
BODELETOS – Pre-race blood sample.
MISS ZOZO FELLA – Post-race swab sample.
