RACE 1 – APIAM AGNES BANKS EQUINE CLINIC PACE – 1609 metres

BLUTO NZ – Became unbalanced and galloped during the early stages of the score up for which the gelding will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw. Unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight.

MONTALBANO – Pre-race blood sample. Stewards questioned Trainer/Driver R Alchin in relation to the performance of the gelding when failing to run on over the concluding stages to be beaten 23.9 metres and finished in 9^th position. Mr Alchin explained that the gelding was racing up in grade from its most recent start and felt it may not have been suited in tonight’s event.

COMPETE – Became unbalanced in the score up and was out of position at the start and took no competitive part in the event for which a warning was issued. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.

DOM TORETTO NZ – Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1250 metres.

MAJOR MAJOR – Post-race swab sample.

CAULONIA COURAGE – Driver R Morris dropped his left foot from the sulky rest whilst activating gear around the final turn.

WAVETHEBILL NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

 

RACE 2 – BESTINBEDS.COM.AU PACE – 2300 metres

TOORAM MAGIC – Post-race swab sample.

SUPERSEDE NZ – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding not having competed in the previous 12 months. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.

ROLL WITH SLOY – Hampered passing the 75 metres when being taken up the track away from JORDY NZ which had locked wheels at this stage with SHEFFIELD SPARKY NZ.

SHEFFIELD SPARKY NZ – Worked forward to obtain the lead at the 1800 metres. Prior to the declaration of all clear Driver C Hart advised Stewards he wished to review the run to the finish in relation to the circumstances surrounding SHEFFIELD SPARKY NZ and JORDY NZ locking wheels from approximately the 100 metres. After reviewing the available replays, Driver C Hart elected not to lodge an objection and all clear was given on 1 – 8 – 9 – 3.

VINKE B NZ – Checked passing the 75 metres when being taken away from SHEFFIELD SPARKY NZ and JORDY NZ when those runners had locked wheels forward of it.

HEAVENLY HOLLY - Pre-race blood sample.

JORDY NZ – Hung in under pressure from approximately the 150 metres before racing inside the line of SHEFFIELD SPARKY NZ passing the 100 metres causing those runners to lock wheels and be checked for which a warning was issued.

ALLSTARZZZ FRANKIE – Pre-race blood sample.

 

RACE 3 – ESTABLISHED IN 1967 SUCCESS STUD FFA – 1609 metres

ARMA EINSTEIN – Became unbalanced and galloped during the score up and was out of position at the start for which a warning was issued.

NYACK – Post-race swab sample.

WASA HEAT SEEKER NZ – Worked forward to obtain the lead leaving the 1200 metres.

IM THE FALCON NZ – Raced three wide in the early stages until working forward to obtain the position outside the leader approaching the 1000 metres.

CAPTAINS KNOCK – Pre-race blood sample.

MY ULTIMATE RONNIE – Pre-race blood sample. A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse not having competed in the previous 12 months. No obvious abnormalities were detected on either examination.

 

RACE 4 – CORDINA FOOD CO PACE – 1609 metres

PROMISING – Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1150 metres. Raced roughly under pressure over the final 50 metres for which a warning was issued.

THE METAL FLYER – Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 1400 metres.

JOELITA – Pre-race blood sample.

HAVEYOUCHECKEDIN – Unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight on the final occasion.

THE BIGBOSS – Pre-race blood sample. Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 950 metres. Post-race swab sample.

 

RACE 5 – CLUB MENANGLE ADORE ME STAKES (LISTED CLASSIC) – 1609 metres

SHEZ SWEET LOUISE NZ – Unable to secure clear running in the early stages of the home straight on the final occasion.

WINDY HILL TARA – Unable to secure clear running in the home straight on the final occasion and was not fully tested.

PROMISELAND – Post-race swab sample.

MY MOOLITE DREAM NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Stewards questioned Driver R Morris in relation to his decision in the home straight on the final occasion, in that shortly after straightening he looked to shift MY MOONLITE DREAM NZ from the marker pegs towards the back of AARDIES EXPRESS NZ and then after being unable to secure clear running, steered back down towards the running of ILLAVABUBBLES NZ approaching the 200 metres when a run appeared to be available from that point to its inside before being directed back wider towards a run between ILLAVABUBBLES NZ and AARDIES EXPRESS NZ which did not eventuate resulting in his runner being held up. Mr Morris explained on straightening it did not appear a run was going to be available towards the inside of ILLAVABUBBLES NZ so he elected to shift wider and when that run was not eventuating he noted that ILLAVABUBBLES NZ had been shifting up the track and looked to shift MY MOONLITE DREAM NZ down the track however at that stage the mare was reluctant to move down the track as it was hanging out onto its off side lugging pole and as a result commenced to lose ground and was reluctant to move down the track. Further Mr Morris stated he shifted MY MOOLITE DREAM NZ back up the track towards the back of AARDIES EXPRESS NZ where MY MOOLITE DREAM NZ commenced to pick up the bit again and was finishing off the event strongly however was unable to secure clear running and was not fully tested. In view of the circumstances and the vision which confirmed the comments of Driver R Morris, Stewards noted his comments.

ILLAVABUBBLES NZ – Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 950 metres.

AARDIES EXPRESS NZ – Pre-race blood sample.

EYE KEEP SMILING – Caught racing three wide in the early stages until being restrained to the tail of the field at the 1200 metres.

 

RACE 6 – AINSWORTH GAME TECHNOLOGY PACE – 2300 metres

BARTELLO – Post-race swab sample.

TITIAN RAIDER – Pre-race blood sample. Worked forward to obtain the lead passing the 2000 metres.

RED REACTOR NZ – Over raced throughout the event.

OUR UNCLE JIM – Pre-race blood sample.

 

RACE 7 – CANNIBAL STANDING AT COBBITTY EQUINE FARM PACE – 1609 metres

MARATHON MAN NZ – Driver G Watts was cautioned in relation to his whip use in the home straight on the final occasion.

ALIBERTO NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Stewards questioned Trainer/Driver L McCarthy in relation to the seemingly disappointing performance of the gelding ($1.45 fav) when failing to run on over the concluding stages to be beaten 14.1 metres and finished in 7^th position. Mr McCarthy explained it had trialled well and was expecting a forward showing however he did note in his opinion the horse hasn’t seemed to be the same since its run on the 26 July 2024 at Redcliffe. Mr McCarthy explained that going forward he may look to reassess the way in which he drives the gelding at Menangle and look to take cover. Stewards noted his comments.
