RACE 1 – COCA COLA PACE – 2030 metres

THE METAL FLYER – Post-race sample was taken.

THE FORTUNATE SON – Weakened over the concluding stages to be beaten some distance.  Driver C Griffiths explained that after being caught racing outside of the leader in the testing conditions commenced to weaken from the 600 metres and finished well back.  Stewards noted his comments.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no abnormalities.

JOHNSON STEP NZ – Pre-race sample was taken. 

Following the running of the event all drivers that competed expressed concerns in relation to the poor visibility and due to the track conditions and the surrounding inclement weather the decision was made after consultation with club officials that the remainder of the meeting be abandoned.
