GLENN FORD NZ – Commenced to weakeN leaving the 1000 metres and gave significant ground over the concluding stages.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.  Driver K Elliott explained that the horse began well and, in her opinion, displaced its soft palate which had been a characteristic that trainer S Harmey had previously encountered despite multiple unsuccessful gear changes.  K Elliott explained that connections may retire GLENN FORD NZ from racing.  Noting the intentions of the stable and comments from K Elliott, Stewards stood down GLENN FORD NZ from racing for a period of 28 days and it until it can complete two satisfactory official trials.

JACKS UP – Post-race swab samples were obtained.

FIFTYSHADES CRESCO – Weakened over the concluding stages.  Trainer/driver B Portelli explained that he expected GREY CADILLAC to race in the position outside of the leader which would afford his runner the one out one back position.  However, when GREY CADILLAC worked forward to the lead FIFTYSHADES CRESCO was left exposed for the majority of the event which was unsuitable. Particularly given the faster than expected tempo.  A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.  A warning was placed on FIFTYSHADES CRESCO for its performance.

RACE 7 – PENRITH MAZDA PACE – 2125 metres

OLLIE ONE SHOT – Near the 1900 metres the tempo of the event slowed noticeably. OLLIE ONE SHOT was being restrained from a three wide position and shifted in toward the running line. SWEET ROCKY – Broke gait during the score up and was out of position at the start.  Connections were advised that SWEET ROCKY will now be excluded from the mobile barrier draw.

DECIPHER – Fractious score up. Entering the first turn became unbalanced and broke gait.  The gelding then laid in significantly and was taken to the inside of the marker pegs near the 1800 metres.  DECIPHER continued to race inside the line of the marker pegs between the 1800 metres and the 1500 metres at which point the gelding kept pace with the leaders of the event.  Near the 1400 metres DECIPHER was shifted in onto the in field grass. When the clerk of the course moved toward DECIPHER to render assistance to driver A Moussa, DECIPHER struck the 1720 metre race start timing post and broke gait.  Driver A Moussa then shifted

DECIPHER out toward the course proper near the 1200 metres and resumed at the rear of the field.  Stewards determined that DECIPHER would be disqualified from the event for failing to complete the correct course.  In addition, driver A Moussa was advised that his licence to drive in races would be stood down for an indefinite period, until such time the HRNSW Licensing Committee further reviewed the incident.  A post-race veterinary examination of DECIPHER revealed a laceration to its left knee which required treatment.  Adopting the veterinary recommendations DECIPHER was stood down for a period of 21 days and until it can complete two satisfactory official trials.  DECIPHER would also require a veterinary certificate of fitness.
