RACE 1 – DOWNLOAD THE TAB APP TODAY PACE – 1609 metres
UNCLE GREGORY – When questioned in relation to the performance trainer driver Mr C Sutherland explained that despite driving with vigour after the start UNCLE GREGORY was unresponsive and failed to travel at any stage. He said the gelding was under pressure throughout and its response was disappointing. Further he said that, in his opinion Uncle Gregory responded better to the driving of others than himself and stated that he would not drive the gelding in races again if its more regular drivers were available. He said that if its recovery was satisfactory the preparation would be continued. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.
MIDAS SHANNON – Driver A Varga was cautioned in relation to the manner that he applied the whip over the concluding stages.

ELLIE RIPPIN – When questioned in relation to the performance driver C McElhinney explained, that after driving vigorously after the start in an attempt to establish the lead, she was trapped wide on the track when unable to muster sufficient speed and obliged to restrain to obtain cover. She said that during this time ELLIE RIPPIN pulled hard and it took a considerable time and distance to obtain a rearward covered position. She said that after this ELLIE RIPPIN travelled comfortably for some distance, however, became unresponsive inside the 400 metres and ran to the finish moderately. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.

He said that after this SHE WHO DARES continued to over race and for this reason, he drove forward in an attempt to allow it to settle at a moderate tempo in the lead. He said that the mare hung out again during the middle stages and after being placed under pressure inside the 400 metres ran to the finish moderately without being able to improve. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any abnormality.

BEE SEVENTEEN – Raced roughly for a short distance after the start.
MAC STUBBORN – When questioned in relation to the tactics adopted in the early stages trainer/driver Mr A Varga explained, that he intended to take a forward position in the early stages and after the start he noticed BEE SEVENTEEN, which was drawn to his inside racing roughly and being unbalanced. He said that because of this he took the opportunity to drive vigorously and attempt to cross to the lead, however BEE SEVENTEEN maintained its pacing gait and was able to remain in a position in the early stages which precluded him from crossing easily and he was obliged to pressure his drive for longer than intended. He said that despite this the gelding travelled well until the closing stages when in his opinion the extra effort extracted to lead, resulted in its finishing effort being reduced. He added that whenever MAC STUBBORN was in receipt of a favourable draw in a similar grade it would always be driven positively in the early stages.
