RACE 1 – PENRITH MAZDA PACE – 1720 metres
NIKI NAH NAH – Caught wide early before working forward to a position outside the leader approaching the 1400 metres.
PELIGROSO – Post-race swab.
RADIANT AMBER – Caught wide early before being restrained to the rear of the field passing the 1400 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the mare to have a mild case of colic. Acting on veterinary advice RADIANT AMBER was stood down for a period of seven days.
SELSEY BILL NZ – Approaching the 1200 metres hung out and raced roughly.
MERRYWOOD TONY – Pre-race blood test.
RACE 2 – SKY RACING ACTIVE PACE – 1720 metres
LUKE JOHN NZ – Pre-race blood test. Post-race swab.
FEAR THE EAGLE – Caught wide early before working forward to a position outside the leader passing the 1400 metres.
MAJOR STATEMENT – Caught wide early before working forward to a position outside the leader approaching the 1300 metres.
SWEDISH MEATBALLS – Held up for clear running in the early stages of the home straight.
RACE 3 – LUNAR NEW YEAR SPECIAL MENU @ BISTRO K PACE – 1720 metres
TEAM OF STARZZZ – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse having competed in excess of 200 race starts. Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
BARA RILEY – Pre-race blood test.
AGIFTFROMTHEANGELS – Caught wide early before working forward to a position outside the leader passing the 1400 metres.
CROWN MOJO – Approaching the 400 metres when shifting wider on the track had its off side sulky wheel contacted and flattened by PLAYFUL MISS.
TIMELY SOVEREIGN – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the horse having competed in excess of 200 race starts. Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. Post-race swab.
PLAYFUL MISS – Approaching the 400 metres when shifting wider on the track was placed in restricted room and contacted and flattened the off side sulky wheel of CROWN MOJO. It was established that CROWN MOJO and PLAYFUL MISS had commenced to shift wider on the track simultaneously however PLAYFUL MISS was placed into restricted room whilst LYNNSANITY was racing in a three wide position.
RACE 4 – AUSSIE NIGHT MARKETS @ PENRITH SHOWGROUND FEB 9 PACE – 2125 metres
ITZMINEONTHELINE – Worked forward to the lead approaching the 1700 metres.
LOCHIEL NZ – Caught wide early before working forward to a position outside the leader passing the 1600 metres.
JALANEEL – Galloped shortly after the start for which a warning was issued. Approaching the 300 metres became unbalanced and broke gait for which a warning was issued.
CAULONIA COURAGE – At the request of driver Chris Geary underwent a pre-race veterinary examination. It was discovered the gelding to be mildly lame in the near side front leg and as a result was declared a late scratching at 7.54pm acting on veterinary advise. A post-race veterinary examination revealed the gelding had a foot abscess and acting on veterinary advice was stood down until a veterinary clearance can be provided.
PITCH PERFECT NZ – Commenced to improve from the 1600 metres before finding a position outside the leader at the 1400 metres. Post-race swab.
RAVISHING SLOY – Pre-race blood test.
RACE 5 – THE MANAGEMENT EDGE RTO PACE – 1720 metres
GOODTIME BRAVO – Pre-race blood test. Worked forward to the lead passing the 1400 metres. Post-race swab.
SHARPER MEMORY – Caught three wide before working forward to a position outside the leader passing the 1300 metres.
RAYS REDEMPTION – Passing the 400 metres commenced to improve to the inside of ZEUSS as that runner had commenced to also shift down the track, at which time RAYS REDEMPTION hung out and contacted the sulky of ZEUSS and as a result was checked and broke. A post-race veterinary examination failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
FRANCO TYSON – Disappointed for clear running from the 300 metres before gaining clear running at the 150 metres.
ZEUSS – Passing the 400 metres when commencing to shift down the track RAYS REDEMPTION commenced to improve to the inside of ZEUSS and hung out contacting the near side sulky wheel.
RACE 6 – CARNIVAL OF CUPS @ PENRITH PACEWAY MAR 15 PACE – 2125 metres
OURSURFINSAFARI – Rounding the first turn was placed into restricted room before being inconvenienced and racing roughly as a result of VESPA STRIDE hanging down the track placing pressure on JAMBEROO ARK. Passing the 1200 metres improved slightly to the inside of HOLZHAUER before being tightened and being restrained. Passing the 250 metres was checked as a result of VESPA STRIDE racing roughly.
TARAMIN – Passing the 1900 metres was checked as a result of JAMBEROO ARK breaking gait. Approaching the 300 metres was checked and locked wheels with VESPA STRIDE when that horse raced roughly.
TELL ME THIS NZ – After beginning well passing the 1800 metres became unbalanced and broke gait for which a warning was issued.
HOLZAUER – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1800 metres as a result of TELL ME THIS NZ breaking gait. Stewards delayed all clear to determine if HOLZAUER had gained an unfair advantage whilst racing inside marker pegs. Stewards determined approaching the 450 metres HOLZHAUER improved to the inside of VESPA STRIDE who was leading the event before VESPA STRIDE shifted down the track placing HOLZHAUER into restricted room and was tightened and contacted marker pegs until a point passing the 300 metres. Whilst racing inside marker pegs driver Taylah Osmond met her obligations by restraining and not driving her horse forward. All clear was given on judges numbers 10-8-7-4.
VESPA STRIDE – Shortly after the start hung in placing JAMBEROO ARK and OURSURFINSAFARI into restricted room before racing roughly passing the 1900 meters. Checked passing the 1800 metres as a result of TELL ME THIS NZ breaking gait. Worked forward to the lead passing the 1500 metres. From a point from the 500 metres commenced to shift up the track before passing the 400 metres hanging in placing HOLZHAUER into restricted room. Passing the 300 metres when slightly giving ground was checked and locked wheels with TARAMIN. Given the overall racing manners of VESPA STRIDE the gelding will be required to perform one requalifying trial.
JAMBEROO ARK – Pre-race blood test. Rounding the first turn was tightened before being checked and broke passing the 1900 metres as a result of VESPA STRIDE hanging in. Approaching the 600 metres driver Will Rixon noticed JAMBEROO ARK had dropped both knee boots and was retired from the event. Mr Rixon explained that he was mindful that JAMBEROO ARK was going close to hitting its knee and did not want to cause any injuries to the horse. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities.
ONE MORE ALTA – Post-race swab.
RACE 7 – SYDNEY HOTSHOTS @ CLUB PACEWAY MAR 22 PACE – 2125 metres
CLEMENTSORRELL – A pre and post-race veterinary examination was conducted due to the gelding having competed in excess of 200 race starts. Both examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
PRINCE POTTER – Caught wide early before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1650 metres.
WHEREISHE – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1900 metres. Post-race swab.
WOODLEA BEAVER NZ – Caught three wide before working forward to a position outside the leader passing the 1500 metres.
WATTOSBLAZEOFGLORY – Approaching the 400 metres contacted and flattened the wheel of WEAREALLALONE when that runner commenced to give ground.
DILETTO – Pre-race blood test. Approaching the 150 metres became unbalanced and broke gait. Considering the record of DILETTO the gelding will be required to perform one requalifying trial.
WEAREALLALONE – Driver Lucy Hansen was questioned in regards to her driving tactics and the overall performance of the mare. After beginning well and finding a position in the running line Ms Hansen elected to improve three wide passing the 1500 metres before working four wide from the 1400 metres to a position outside the leader at the 1150 metres and commenced to give ground over the concluding stages to be beaten 28.3 metres. Ms Hansen explained that after beginning well the mare was travelling quite keenly and as a result elected put the mare into the race where WEAREALLALONE tends to perform best. Once finding the position outside the leader WEAREALLALONE commenced to over race and did commence to give ground from the 400 metres at which point its off side sulky wheel was contacted and flattened by WATTOSBLAZEOFGLORY. Ms Hansen explained that she was not disappointed in the overall performance of WEAREALLALONE. Stewards noted the comments of Ms Hansen.
GREY CADILLAC – Commenced to improve three wide from the 1700 metres before finding a position outside the leader at the 1400 metres.
RACE 8 – TAB VENUE MODE PACE – 2125 metres
IMA SHINKANSEN – Held up for clear running in the home straight and not fully tested.
DYNAMITES BEST – Pre-race blood test.
OUR ULTIMATE LAYLA – Post-race swab.
AMERICAN BREEZE – Tired over the concluding stages to be beaten 71.2 metres. A post-race veterinary examination revealed no obvious abnormalities. Given the performance of the gelding AMERICAN BREEZE will now be required to perform one requalifying trial.
LOUMIA – Declared a late scratching at 9.11am due to the trainer illness.
