RACE 1 – ACCESS SECURITY PROTECTION SERVICES PACE – 2300 metres
MR TEDDY NZ – Pre-race blood sample.
VITE MONET – Post-race swab sample.
OUR UNCLE JIM – Pre-race blood sample.
SMALTESE – Held up in the early stages of the home straight before gaining clear running passing the 150 metres.
KING TINTIN – Stewards questioned trainer/driver Neil Day with regards to the performance of the gelding which finished in tenth placing beaten 31.8 metres. Mr Day advised Stewards that the gelding travelled poorly on the float to the races and also never felt comfortable at any stage during the event. A post-race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. After consideration Stewards determined note the comments of Mr Day.
RACE 2 – BESTINBEDS.COM.AU PACE – 1609 metres
DOM TORETTO NZ – Pre-race blood sample.
JOE NIEN – Examined prior to and following the running of this event as the gelding has competed in excess of 200 race starts. The examinations failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
WASA HEAT SEEKER NZ – Broke stride during the score up and locked wheels with OUTSIDE FIGHTER necessitating a false start being declared. After considering the recent record of the mare, a warning was issued. Post-race swab sample.
COMPETE – Stewards questioned trainer Jason Grimson with regards to the performance of the gelding which tired over the concluding stages to finish in eighth placing beaten 22.2 metres. Mr Grimson advised Stewards that the gelding hadn’t competed for three weeks and as a result was probably a bit big in condition. Mr Grimson further added that given the fitness of the gelding he wasn’t suited to being caught racing outside the leader in such a fast tempo. Mr Grimson further added that he expected the gelding to improve at its next start. A post race veterinary examination of the gelding failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities. After considering the explanation provided by Mr Grimson, Stewards determined to note his comments.
BAINBRIDGE – Pre-race blood sample.
RACE 3 – FOR A REASON STANDING AT COBBITTY EQUINE FARM PACE – 1609 metres
MAJOR HOT NZ – Pre-race blood sample.
LOCHINVAR JAG – Pre-race blood sample.
THE NARCISSIST – Raced roughly upon entry to the first turn before working forward to the lead passing the 1200 metres. Post-race swab sample.
MAJOR STATEMENT – Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1200 metres.
RACE 4 – SUCCESS STUD SUPPORTING NSW RACING LADYSHIP PACE – 1609 metres
CHARLIES ACE NZ – Pre-race blood sample.
SARA TA SLOY – Driver Bailey McDonough reported to Stewards that the mare had suffered a flat offside sulky tyre passing the 400 meters. A post-race veterinary examination of the mare failed to reveal any obvious abnormalities.
DESTINY STRIDE – Pre-race blood sample. Contacted the offside sulky wheel of SARA TA SLOY when that runner commenced to weaken passing the 400 metres and as a result was inconvenienced. Post-race swab sample.
MARIA ALLEGONDA NZ – Inconvenienced passing the 400 metres when DESTINY STRIDE contacted the off side sulky wheel of SARA TA SLOY.
BELLA DANZA – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1100 metres.
RACE 5 – WOODLANDS STUD SHUTTLING THE WORLD’S GREATEST STALLIONS. FFA – 2300 metres
ARDENS ACE NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Held up over the final 100 metres.
PETES SAID SO NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Worked forward to the lead passing the 1900 metres.
IM THE FALCON NZ – Trainer Jason Grimson was fined $50 under rule 268A(1) for failing to lodge a gear notification for the gelding. Worked forward to the lead passing the 1400 metres. Post-race swab sample.
RACE 6 – CLUB MENANGLE SIMPSON MEMORIAL (GROUP 3) – 1609 metres
BUSINESS IN HEAVEN – Pre-race blood sample. Driver Joshua Gallagher reported to Stewards at the completion of the event that the colt’s head check became dislodged soon after the start.
MAC BON – Inconvenienced after the start when HESITATE broke stride. Post-race swab sample.
RED SAPPHIRE – Pre-race blood sample. Inconvenienced after the start when HESITATE broke stride. Caught racing wide in the early stages of the event before working forward to the position outside the leader passing the 1100 metres.
ALWAYS HOT – Trainer Emma Stewart was fined $50 under rule 268A(1) for failing to lodge a gear notification for the colt. Pre-race blood sample. Inconvenienced after the start when HESITATE broke stride. Caught racing wide with cover in the early stages of the event before working forward to the lead passing the 700 metres. Post-race swab sample.
BETTORLIGHTEM UP – Broke stride passing the 300 metres. After considering the recent record of the colt, it was stood down until the completion of one requalifying trial. Driver Will Rixon reported to Stewards that the colt cast its offside fore plate during the event.
HESITATE – Pre-race blood sample. Broke after the start and inconvenienced ALWAYS HOT, RED SAPPHIRE and MAC BON. After considering the recent record of the colt, it will continue to be placed outside the mobile barrier draw.
RACE 7 – SKY RACING PACE – 1609 metres
KOSIMO – Stewards questioned trainer/driver Seaton Grima with regards to the seemingly improved performance of the gelding. Mr Grima advised Stewards that the horse has been in his care for around four weeks as he has been waiting for an elective sample to be cleared. Mr Grima advised that in the interim the horse had been working and trialling well in preparation for tonight’s event. After considering the explanation provided by Mr Grima, Stewards determined to note his comments. Post-race swab sample.
LINE UP NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Momentarily placed in restricted room passing the 300 metres when MONTALBANO shifted wider on the track looking to obtain clear running.
MAJOR PERRY NZ – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1200 metres. Shifted out under pressure in the home straight.
JORDY NZ – Pre-race blood sample. Improved three wide from the 1000 metres and continued to race wide for the remainder of the event.
HAS THE COURAGE – Held up in the early stages of the home straight before gaining clear running passing the 150 metres.
RACE 8 – D M PLUMBING PACE – 1609 metres
LEAVEMEOUT – Hung out after the start and inconvenienced ALWAYSBMINNIE and JOELITA. Raced roughly passing the 400 metres.
ALWAYSBMINNIE – Pre-race blood sample. Inconvenienced after the start when LEAVEMEOUT hung out.
JOELITA - Inconvenienced after the start when LEAVEMEOUT hung out.
DESIDERIO – Sustained a flat offside sulky tyre approaching the 400 metres when DEBONAIRE was shifted wider on the track looking to obtain clear running.
AMERICAN SPIRIT – Worked forward to the lead passing the 1200 metres.
DEBONAIRE – Stewards questioned driver Blake Fitzpatrick with regard to the reasons for his runner making contact with the offside sulky wheel of DESIDERIO approaching the 400 metres. Mr Fitzpatrick advised Stewards that the horse was racing way too keen through the middle stages of the event and that in addition to the reduced visibility ensured he made contact with the wheel when shifting wider approaching the 400 metres. After consideration, Stewards determined to take no further action other than to advise Mr Fitzpatrick that he needed to take greater care in similar circumstances.
CAPTAINS CATCH – Pre-race blood sample. Post-race swab sample.
RACE 9 – CORDINA CHICKEN FACTORY OUTLET TROTTERS MOBILE – 1609 metres
ALDEBARAN JENSEN – Shifted in under pressure over the concluding stages and inconvenienced SUPER SERVICE who was looking to improve to the inside of IM BOBBY. Post-race swab sample.
MY LIGHTNING MCQUEEN NZ – Broke stride free of interference passing the 400 metres. After considering the recent record of the mare, a warning was issued.
SUPER SERVICE – Inconvenienced passing the 75 metres when looking to improve to the inside of IM BOBBY which was racing to the inside of ALDEBARAN JENSEN as that runner shifted in under pressure.
HOT TO TROT NZ – Inconvenienced passing the 400 metres when MY LIGHTNING MCQUEEN NZ broke stride.
